Thanks! I've changed it a few times in the last couple of weeks, but I think this is the one. It didn't help that I had to "repurchase" SMT IV: Apocalypse since the wrong game was in the case when originally purchased five months ago. Game number four was up in the air for a little while there...

The warrior has yet to be played in any Gauntlet title I think. Ranged classes usually get chosen over melee in such games, they seem easier for me.

Have fun with Diablo!

Which character did you usually play as in Dark Legacy? It's difficult to remember them all now, there were so many to unlock... But I do remember mostly playing as the jester. We were able to unlock every character, except for that damned unicorn. We tried so many times!

Just last week, or maybe the week before, the Steam edition was on sale for $5.99. Somehow, surprisingly, I resisted it... Maybe next time? I think it'd be more enjoyable, for me, if a Gauntlet title was available on the 3DS - hint-hint.

Hopefully, you managed to get a worthy price for some of those games you traded. Sometimes though, it's just good to free up some space, especially if you can't see yourself ever playing them again. They certainly aren't any use to anyone sitting on a shelf, collecting dust!

I hope that the new system works for you.

It's weird, I've never had motion sickness from video games before but for some reason Resident Evil 7 is really bad for me. I've cranked the brightness up and I tried playing it during the day with the blinds open and that alleviated it somewhat, so maybe the darkness was giving me a bit of tunnel vision or something? If all else fails I'll pop a travel sickness pill haha

Sorry for not telling you earlier, but I finished off Zelda II a few weeks ago. You were so right about that part of the game, but once you got stronger, those areas got easier.

Glad to have you back too. Nice, how is Dragon Warrior going for you?

On a related note, I’m working on Final Fantasy for the NES and it’s been pretty fun so far.

If you like Mystic Quest's soundtrack, listen to Rudra no Hihou's, which is done by the same composer. Here's a sample: [Link]

When moments like those irritate you that much, you remember them. It doesn't help that I just finished the game and its equally irritating sequel this past week.

There's the game Dragon Power. That's a difficult game, mainly due to timer health and a difficulty spike after level 6 when failure results in having to start at level 7 again. Argh, that game makes a good first impression on you, but then quickly becomes a pain.

Oooh... I really like that banner! It's so hypnotizing.

I noticed because I swung through after seeing that you added Gauntlet - love those games! How is it on the PC? You have caused me to be tempted by it. I haven't played since Dark Legacy, but have adored it since first playing on the Tiger handheld and in the arcade during the 80's and 90's.

Did you really get rid of all those old games? Or just decided to change up how you list things here? I remember doing that a while back, it was quite the process... There were just too many from back in the day that I feel were unbeatable, or unfinished, and no longer owned.

Anyway... Long time!

There is no beating the . Anyone who says otherwise...well, maybe they did.

I've stopped buying Steam stuff in general, especially those bundles that you mentioned--the multiple games for bargain bin-equivalent prices. When I was adding the games to my Backloggery I mostly found stuff I didn't even remember buying and a lot of stuff that got really bad Steam user reviews. The price for buying bundles, basically...just finding utter crap in the mountain of games you never noticed you had.

Tales of Berseria is pretty great -- I'm in complete addict mode right now with it. They've continued to improve the game in little ways as they have been all along, but this time they have a very solid story that I'd probably rate up there with Vesperia.

The whole controversy surrounding 6-2 isn't warranted. As long as you go slower than normal, you won't be so overwhelmed with enemies near pits. And it's also a good thing you don't have to beat the bosses again.

I actually think the last five levels in Adventure Island was more annoying overall. 7-4 has a pair of spiders that force you to jump low (by not holding the direction button while jumping or else you'll jump high and collide into the top one.) 8-2 has fish jumping up at you at inopportune times while you dodge jumping octopi. 8-3 has a moment where you have to swing a rock hammer at a bat while jumping onto falling platforms (with a fire pit sitting nicely when you make it.) 8-4 is exactly the same as 7-4 but with more enemies. Yeesh.

I played about 12 hours into the ps1 version and then the first news stories were going out about the possibility of a 3ds remake were just coming out so I shelved the game for a bit. If I'd know it would take about over 3 years after it came out in japan to be in english, I would've finished the ps1 version! I like the look of the ps1 version but the 3ds remake really is the definitive version.
I'm nearing the end right now and it seems the game is ~70-75hrs long compared to ~110 for the original. The ability to get hints about which tablet fragments you're missing really helps you avoid having to wander around the whole game lost since it is easy to miss a fragment or two along the way.

Looking to finish up the 3ds version of DQ7 this week hopefully so I can pick up the port of 8 as well. Have to do my part to help support the series so DQ11 has a chance to leave Japan !

For Dragon Warrior. I play through the SNES remake every few years, fun and relaxing game. Highly recommend that version but it's hard to beat the original

It sure has! Sorry for not chatting much lately, I think the last time we chatted was when you were doing that Dragon Quest marathon. I was about to tell you I finished the third dungeon and I’m now in uncharted territory, but you’ve finished the game and that is awesome! Congratulations!

I’ve played it when I was younger, but I did not know what was really going on and I got destroyed by around the third dungeon. I’m starting to get a hang of the game and I’m loving it. I’m over in Eastern Hyrule now. I’d agree with you two, this is a very special game! And thank you, the life spell made that task a whole lot easier.

Cheers and welcome back! Good to hear from you. What's first on your agenda after your break?

I'm trying to knock out DQIX this weekend, but I'm not sure if I'll make that goal or not at this rate.
What games did you play today?
