Hi and welcome!
I've decided it would be really awesome to regularly update my backloggery and share my joy of playing games with others, it's a great way of being motivated. And I get to chat with fellow gamers as a cool bonus.
So here I go! It's so exciting to lose yourself for a few hours into a good game, right?
About me
Race: Imagination Unbound
Gender: Anthropomorphic Female
Interests: Playing video games (obviously:P) and the flute/recorder, composing poems and short stories (when I get around to it), crazying around on my rollerblades or bike, and trying to do martial arts for a longer time than just a few months. Swords and chinese weapons are awesome.
I've got so many games I've started and haven't finished, so I'm limiting myself now to playing only few games on each platform and not trying out any new ones. Although it's so tempting...have to try out...the latest game...>.< But nah, it's actually going pretty well, Pokemon White on my NDS, two or three games on my PC and from time to time I return to my games on PS2.
My favourite genres
I all types of games although RPGs are definitively my most favourite. I enjoy classic platformers, adventure games, some racing stuff like NFS and of course fighting games are cool. Sometimes I have the urge to play a good FPS but it doesn't happen very often, I usually need to have a good storyline to go with it (though I like Unreal Tournament and similar older games like Doom or Blood).
I haven't all my games listed here yet, I'm adding them gradually as I'm remembering what I've already played or am playing (since I tend to juggle between several games at once). I've also lent quite a number of them to my friend, so I hope I do get them back eventually (especially that King's Quest Collection CD), I've even forgotten what some of them were. :D
Ranking
is for games which I haven't finished yet and want to complete them, games that are on my waiting list but I've already tried them, or games that I would like to complete someday but it's not very probable that I'll play them again (oldies like the Lion King). I almost always specify into which category out of the three the games fall.
is for beaten games where not everything was unlocked or collected.
is for games where I unlocked everything, attained all possible abilities/skills (but not levels, I'm not a complete grind freak) and got all items (with few exceptions, like where they're RNGed and you have to grind for hours, but platformers like Castlevania are not included - I have to collect everything there).
is for games which I haven't started at all or cannot be beaten and games that I own but there is very little chance of playing them ever again.
Anyway, I wanted to let you know a couple of things about my Idea Factory adventures. I ended up quitting Spectral Souls and intend to take it back to the game store. It had some good points, but I wasn't up for dozens of hours of grind... although if it weren't for the loading times, I might have toughed it out. You could say the game was a victim of circumstance. If I was back in my unemployed days, I might have finished it and even gone on to the post-game.
An online buddy told me that he played through the first Generation of Chaos several times, and didn't get anywhere with the second one, even though he had enjoyed the first one so much. So maybe you got the better deal getting the first one by mistake.
On his recommendation, I decided to get Generation of Chaos and it arrived today. It'll be awhile 'til I play it, since I decided to play Dragon Quest IV as my portable game, but I'll give it a test run soon and let you know what I think.
