So far I'm really enjoying Tales of Vesperia's story. It focuses heavily on the characters and their interactions, but it seems to have a fairly deep overarching plot to tie everything together. It's plot is a lot like most of the other Tales games... but if you haven't played any of those I'd say it is fairly similar to Persona 3 and 4 as well in character-centric plot structure.
