If you want some more recommendations, I could mention Batman Arkham City and Devil May Cry 4 also) Actually, these action games are one of my favourites from the last few years in the genre)

I'm super pleased to find that not only did you play and beat my previous suggestion, Fire Emblem Awakening, you even gave it 5 stars! :D

I'd definitely suggest you try going back to Dragon Age Origins, as it's another one of my favorite 5-10 games of all time. Otherwise, a few more that you can choose from if you like:

-Phoenix Wright: Someone else suggested this already so I'm chiming in
-LittleBigPlanet: Adorable, good music, and fun - try the multiplayer
-Until Dawn: Normally I don't like horror games, but this really stood out to me as sort of a spiritual successor to Heavy Rain (and I didn't find it all that scary).

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney! After that Heavy Rain and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

I would recommend World of Goo, Yoshi's Woolly World, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Cave Story 3D, Super Mario Advance 3, and Kirby's Dream Land.

They all have variety in difficulty and art styles, but are all great in their own way. Happy gaming.

P.S. I also played older version of Fable when I was at school) These were great menories)

I think you should play Bayonetta! It's pretty fun and it's not too long, either.

Failing that, Portal's also a pretty good choice

I guess that I will try to beat it sometimes then I am in a period with some freetime here and there and are getting in some gaming! Me and my gf have been hooked on games with a heavy storyline and have just beaten Ghost Trick (DS), 999 (DS), The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead season 2! Some great stories there! Gaming is really going up and down as my main hobby, but right now I am having a blast playing quite a bit, so we'll see for how long that will last! Have you been playing anything great lastly? Hoping the studies goes well :D
