Wow, how long has it been since I checked this? *checks the date* Five or six months? And I've managed to backslide on my Backloggery, too... sheesh. Real life can be a real pain...

Yep, you saw right- I'm going to have to make a THIRD run through P4, because of the Empress link. I just don't have the time left to fuse Personas, but I will be trying to get as many of them into my Compendium as possible...

I'm redrawing my Fortune Cookies to try and find some inspiration on something to play, but suggestions are always appreciated! If you're looking for someone to add, add me! I could use more people to talk to, or play games with!

Yeah, I always always WANTED to play EB, but I just never could find it anywhere until 5 years after release it was already ultra-rare and expensive... And then the internet came, and emulation... I got to moonside by the time I'd decided this game was insanely special and I didn't want to go any further until I could actually own it for real. It took a long time till that really became a possibility, but here I am, and I simply adore it~

And that was a very wise move, if you ask me! Sure, you could've sold a mint copy for a lot, but why sell when you can enjoy? I'm sure a lot of the people out there up until recently have wanted a copy just to play it, anyway, not to display it like some trophy! I think a well-played, much-used cart of Earthbound is a better trophy anyway!

Yeah, random battles in SMT games can be quite devastating if you're not careful... as I learned the hard way halfway through DDS1. Note-taking can be really useful, although I usually just remember stuff like that these days. Now, if we're talking about my first RPG-experience twenty years ago (Wow, has it really been that long? *checks* Yup, exactly twenty years.), that's a different matter entirely. I wish I could see all the notes I took for that game again. XD

As you can see on my Now Playing list, I haven't actually played any Heartgold yet after I beat the Elite Four. It's a game I play very sporadically (I don't stay interested in it for very long), but I always come back to it... eventually.

I played a couple hours of P4 back when it was released in the US (I was so impatient I imported a copy ^^) but wasn't quite as immediately captivated as I was by P3, but it's still an excellent game. And, well, now that the Vita version's out, I might as well finally play more of it! (I'm playing on Normal, so I shouldn't have too much trouble.) Ah, so many awesome SMT-related games, so little time... and I still hope we'll get a release date for SMT4 soon. Can't wait!

Thank you! I don't own a Vita either, P3P is for the regular PSP after all. P3 is one of my fave games, I'm glad you're enjoying the walkthrough

I'll go through the female storyline after I 100% Arisato's playthrough.

As for the visual novel aspect, I agree, yeah. Visual novels are awesome, and my favourite part about P3P are the characters and the storyline. I just wish Atlus would let me select Japanese voices like with Disgaea. :/ Oh well.

We're barely anywhere in Secret of Mana, actually; just picked up the third party member, and haven't played for a few months. I'm finding it's tough to play a co-op game that neither of us has played; without one of us to assure the other that we know what we're doing and can actually make progress, we're usually not as gung-ho. Hopefully one of these days we'll get back to it!

Interesting... the one before the boss on the Subway gave me a lot of trouble. I highly doubt it's been eight levels since then, but who knows...

P3P is awesome, but not being able to roam around the 3D world kind of hinders the experience. On the other hand, the cutscenes remind me of a visual novel more, and I feel it kind of helps the experience - at least for me. P3P is really cool and I'm glad I have it. My second playthrough will most likely be on FES though.

Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love was the only game in the series to get an official English release (though a bunch of its anime did with the exception of two OVAs).

Yeah, I felt that way after going through all five of the Sakura Wars games. I will admit I had to use a translation guide for the dialogue in 1-4 but considering I've been doing that with Tales import games, I'm used to it. At least I was able to enjoy it. After beating the 5 games (and the 5th one to completion), it felt like a downer that it had to end since that's it. Well, the original Sakura Wars theme song will always be stuck in my head.

I have no real expectation that I'll get to 100% in X-2, but yeah I like to complete a fair amount of the optional stuff rather than just blitzing through. It's actually my third attempt at playing through the whole thing (I'm easily distracted) so the early chapters were quite quick to go through to get a good completion but later chapters will take me longer I think. I will finish it though as I really like the game unlike a lot of folks. Then I might actually get around to finishing Xenoblade Chronicles...

Chrono Trigger is on hold until I get my DS fixed/replaced. It's nice to play these sort of classics for the first time (UK hardly got any of the good RPGs back in the SNES days) and it's impressive how well it stands up today.

Seen you're playing DQ8. That's easily my favourite PS2 game. I didn't think it was a grindfest at all (until the very very end, when it's absolutely necessary) so I'm sure you'll have fun with it.

Huh. I had no idea that burn wasn't essentially just a renamed Poison and affects attack power too. You really do learn something new every day!

Will's not much of a problem; between them, Typhlosion and Ampharos take care of his mon easily enough (unless Exeggutor gets in a lucky hit with Psychic, but it's nothing my team couldn't ecover from and I have recently started to just take care of it in one hit with Blast Burn). The only real danger in Koga's team comes from his Muk, which can kill my Espeon in one hit before Espeon can move if I'm not careful. :/ Muuuuuuuuk! Leaves my team more battered than it ought to be if it wants to stand up to Bruno. Zen Headbutt does help with that though (as do an additional one or two levels, I've found).

As for Bruno... I'm surprised he's giving me so much trouble, given that Espeon took out the fighting type gym earlier pretty much single-handedly. Machamp is, unsurprisingly enough, the biggest stumbling block because compared to it, Espeon is practically made of glass, and there are no fliers in my team. But it's good to know that I seem to have a pretty good team for handling Karen too; I hadn't thought that far ahead and just decided to let the game surprise me. XD Thanks for the tips!

Ah, Suikoden, series of my heart. (Not surprising, given that that's where my username comes from.) How far did you get in Suiko1? It took a while to grow on me but once it sank its proverbial claws into me it refused to let go. XD But yeah, sometimes you really want to get into a game or a series or whatever because it seems like something you'd absolutely love but somehow it's just not clicking anyway. Not quite at least. Maybe one day!

Oh, right Dragon Age. I should go back to that at some point. XD

My team in HeartGold consists of Typhlosion, Ampharos, Tauros, Espeon, Gyarados and Mamoswine and is slooowly making their way into the late thirties/early fourties. I can take the first two Elite4 members on without items pretty consistently but Bruno is another matter entirely. (And I want to be able to take him too before I start this thing in earnest, throwing items around and everything. I, err, kind of tend to hoard items in Pokémon games.)

Aside from a minor hiccup against Jasmine, who had me stumped for a while earlier in the game, I haven't had much trouble, either (well up until the Elite4 thing that gave you pause. Didn't know that was remarkable. ), so I'm sure I'll show Bruno and the rest who's boss sooner or later. ^.~ And then, onwards!

Thanks! Although it is a little askew at the moment, since it says I'm playing Darksiders, when I've barely touched that and instead was playing Golden Sun: The Lost Age. And Eternal Blue is such an excellent game! I hope that you are able to go through it eventually.

Happy Backloggiversary, by the way!

So I need to inject some new blood into my backlog... I'm picking five new games, no re-draws, to give me a starting point. It doesn't even seem like anyone wants to challenge me for anything, so I'm just going to stick with five fortune cookies and the Mass Effect and Suikoden challenges.
In a world of unbeaten games, we make the line between Bak'laag and the Bore Bomb...
