As far as longer games go your PS2 and 3DS collections are full of them.

I can't remember what difficulty I picked... I probably chose Normal this time around, but there's also a good chance I picked Hard. The grabs were really egregious though. They come out and connect immediately, multiple enemies can chain grabs together and stunlock you forever, some enemies have grabs where it's nearly impossible to break out of, and on top of that I don't think any of the characters control as well as other games.

Also yeah the 'twists' in this game are so stupid, half of them can be summed up as "antagonists learned to wear kevlar."

I promise that I'll never truly get ahead lol. Having less time than you combined with the game order I'll be going in means it ain't gonna happen. We should get to talk about a lot of interesting games though.

Since I'm playing the series on my phone at work it may be another week or two depending on how much time I have. Lately I've had quite a lot of time, which is why I started them in the first place.

I dropped Yakuza 4. After a couple months I went back to beat it and just got fed up with it in the end. I ended on Kiryu Chapter 4, so right near the end but ultimately I decided it just wasn't worth my time.

I had way too many problems with the writing and the story itself, the combat is tied for the weakest with 3 for me, (We went from block Hell to grab Hell) and I also found the soundtrack to be disappointing as well. I still plan on continuing to 5, but I feel there's no more enjoyment for me to get out of 4.

I had a feeling it was that one. You didn't so much have to draw out the walking path, as you had to trace the numbers onto the pull down screen, then display the map on the projector. (so you can view the map and numbers on the screen at the same time)

The a, b, and c on the board with the pictures correspond directly to where the numbers are on the map.
Point a was below and to the left of the cabin picture on the board. Below and to the left of the cabin on the map is 7. So A=7 etc etc.

It was one of my favorite puzzles in the game.

Oh right we did talk about that in the podcast itself. My memory is terrible.

Do you happen to remember which puzzle in Case 23 you didn't understand?

Yeah I saw The Past Within, we should totally play it together. I still have a lot of games to go through too. I'm playing through them on my phone at work when I'm down on tickets and tired of studying.

I had to write down the order of the games on a sticky note just so I don't have to keep referring back to the website. So many games.

Edit: Also Persona 4 is definitely 60 hours long, because I'm only halfway through the dungeons and the game is pretty linear. I think maybe your friends who have played played it on PC where you can speed up time and change the amount of exp you get from battles. In vita version you can't do that.

Looks like it's going to be a Rusty Lake year.

I'll try to throw some other games in there so it's not just me going over like 10 cube escape games in a row.

Yes, I'm actually very interested to see what the Remake changes, if anything, and if I end up enjoying the remake more than the original / enhanced PC patch. And I also plan on going down the whole series, just to see what's up. I've heard mixed things about 4, which I see is kind of that 'black sheep' of the franchise (but not quite as vilified as Homecoming); but so was Zero Time Dilemma for Zero Escape, and I enjoyed that one!

Anyway, not sure if I'll jump onto the next game as immediately as I've been moving through the series. I don't own the game but I've been eyeing it on GOG for a while, and now that I've played through the previous games, I'll probably pick it up sooner rather than later.

Really? I felt the exact opposite. It didn't seem subtle at all with its themes or messages to me. Everything felt like it was very blunt. I've also heard people say that Silent Hill 2 won't spoonfeed its themes to you, but it very much felt like it did in my experience. Maybe I'm just up on a high horse or something, but the game really doesn't feel as 'deep' as everyone makes it out to be.

I will also make it clear that I don't dislike the game. I think it's a good game, but when compared to the original, and when factoring in all the hype surrounding it, I feel like it just doesn't live up to the expectation set by it. I see a lot of people say that it's "The Best Survival Horror Game Ever Made," and while I can still respect it as a good game, I can't say that it lives up to that title.
