The carpet does indeed fly Low altitude only and so areas that I cannot get to remain, being surrounded by cliffs, but I'm exploring new stuff. I've had a four member party before, in the game's first chapter, but I've been down to three for hours now. This is the first sign that that might change at last. As for hours, I would estimate I'm about halfway. So yeah, it's long.

Indeed on to Mass Effect 3! I was going to hold off on buying that, but I got it for my birthday, so I figured, I might as well go on and finish off the trilogy. Xenoblade will return, but I play one handheld and one either PC or console at a time normally, so it's Dragon Quest 7 it is waiting for. On console I had a few options, but I'm fine with Mass Effect 3 coming first.

I do indeed have a beta invite for the Necromancer. Unfortunately, for the few days I've been in, he's been down for maintenance. You can *create* him and I have, but you can't actually play him. People in the beta chatroom are having a field day about that. But I guess he'll come when he comes.

Actual Sunlight is a visual-novel game based in Toronto about a middle-aged guy battling depression. It was very interesting to play through. Although it was a short title to beat, I enjoyed myself. I'm glad I only payed 5 bucks for it, I wouldn't have been willing to pay more lol

I don't think it's a bad thing that you don't have a lot of new games that you want, it makes it a lot less expensive. I don't think it's because you don't own any home consoles, though it may help a little, but if you get the "craving" for new stuff to play, you just get it. I mean, look at me, finding and founding deals for old used titles. XD

Yeah, me liking musou (it's a sub-genre of hack n slash) games isn't exactly a surprise. XD Yeah, we don't know yet what new systems and differences we will see in this crossover with Fire Emblem, curious since the Dragon Quest Heroes series is doing an hybrid between musou and classic rpg, try the demo of DQH 2 and it's even more rpg than the first one, with open world exploration.

Shit, that quite the story, even for Gamestop that's.... actually, that's something i would have believed, given what Gamestop is. XD Not too surprised when i heard they're gonna close 300 shops with their brand here by the end of the year (or something), at least in america you can find some nice deals (i follow Cheap Ass Gamer on twitter, so i know), here we have the leisure of seeing used games priced even higher than new, because of the actual nature of Gamestop and how they actually make profit.

Glad you got it too, i didn't plan to get it, but i saw it on sale, watched a review, and yep, i'm not sorry at all, Resogun is bloody damn good, and quite challenging, you already know that. I'm honestly amazed on how well it updates the old Defender formula to work in a modern way, with the improvements we had over the Atari era, while keeping that "really easy to start playing, hard as hell to master" and making you want to improve and get a better score.

Confused: Playing 10+ games at once
You know, I can't remember if I ever replied to you a month ago.

Looks like you've moved on to a new set of games now. One of these days I want to get back to SMT IV. It was neat, but I never even made it to Tokyo. I'm considering buying the costume DLC for Persona 5 since the music and outfits are really cool. I also restarted Alundra a few months back. That one kinda fell by the wayside around Christmas, haha. I see you still haven't done anything with Hyrule Warriors though!

There are 3 new Fire Emblems announced. Heroes is the free phone game that's already out and kinda neat. Warriors is the Dynasty Warriors-esque title coming to Switch, which should be good considering how Hyrule Warriors and Berserk turned out. There's an untitled new FE game coming to the Switch too. Then Shadows of Valentia is for 3DS and coming in May. It's a remake of FE3 and has some weird systems like no weapon durability and dungeon crawling. I'm looking forward to it and still need to preorder the amiibo.

FE Conquest fell off the list, yeah. I keep thinking about playing more, but haven't been in the mood for strategy RPGs recently.

I've got no interest in Untold 2 since I already beat EO2. The idea of going through the same dungeon with a preset party for story mode doesn't really appeal to me. I already love how nonsensical 2's story was and how nobody really addresses the fact that you made a huge mistake by taking the Grail.

Oof, 11-12 hour days on salary is awful. Hopefully the job is worth that!

Shame about Disgaea 3 I also didn't like that one very much, most characters and the writing weren't all that good and the gameplay was, well, okay. I agree with you that the first one was way better, the second one was not as good and then came the third one and, yeah.
It might help you to know though that the general consensus is that the third indeed the low point of the series, but that part four is way better than that most people seem to either view that one as their favorite or second favorite in the series. So don't give up hope yet.

You told me not to worry about leaving longer comments and see what that got you. haha.

My bad about SMT IV Apocalypse. You are of course absolutely right. I got curious why I got it in my head that it was an enhanced version of the last one. Turns out that that's what the makers had originally planned. Only later did they decide to turn it into its own game. Explains how I got that confused. Still sorry about that. There are absolutely a lot of other titles that would interest me on the 3DS so I think that I will eventually get around to it, but it's also not like the games I have access to already are severely limited. A bit hard to justify it to myself right now, especially after last year.

I owuld most definitely recommend you Stranger of Sword City despite the fact that I put it on hold right now, it'S a really fun dungeon crawl.
As for Shadowrun, well that's a bit difficult. You wouldn't be wrong in calling it a WRPG but at the same time it's nothing like Skyrim or similar games. I mean EO Dragon's Crown and Chrono Trigger for example are all JRPGs and so are the handheld Castlevania games, yet i would exactly call them alike.
To give oyu a bit of an idea about it. The Shadowrun games take place in a slightly futuristic version of earth that is mostly controlled by corporations, were magic has returned to the world, so you have elves and orks and the like who throw fireballs and summon spirits but at the same time you also have elves, orks and others decked out with firearms and hacking into cyberspace.
The games are not dungeon crawlers, no. You have an isometric perspective sort of like you have with Disgaea or Diablo and the you control a team of up to four people in turn based combat (combat isn't like Disgaea though.) You don't run around in a big open world like you'd do in something like you'd do in Skyrim. Shadowrun Returns is more linear than it's sequels but they are all rather straight forward in their continuation. They are in my opinion really well written and allow you to play out your character on and off the battlefield.
I obviously can't guarantee you that you'll like them, but I have been surprised by just how much I ended up enjoying them. Might also be that you end up not liking Shadowrun Returns but liking Shadowrun: Dragonfall or vice versa, since like I said they differ in some ways. I think they at least deserve a try though, granted I'm obviously biased.

Heh, to be fair msot of the last additions are already finished as well so at least I'm keeping it in balance. In fact I'm at a slight plus at the moment, that's already quite an accomplishment for me.
It's generally notably more s than s for me because I have rather strict and admittedly counter-intuitive rules on that, but that doesn't bother me.
But yeah, I sure seem to be on a good way and not just compared to last year. Like I said before, I don't think I will be able to keep this up, but it sure is a good foundation for the year as a whole.

Haha. Oh I know that 'play some quick/easy games' tactic to better the stats.
I've used it myself before. Of course if one does that too often there won't be anymore of those left and then all that's left is the heavy hitters.

I couldn't even handle having 8 titles waiting at the ready to begin with, so I can see how you have to kick something like EO to keep the focus. That said, I also put Stranger of Sword City on the shelf for now. It pretty mcuh is the worst scenario with the game being not too far from completion but me having drifted towards somethign else right now. I will get back to this one though. I know I mentioend how this whole thing usually pans out, but there have been exceptions and this one should be one as well.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Zelda games either, I do enjoy some of the ones I played and Minish Cap looks interesting to me, but yeah that's about it. Good to hear though that oyu enjoyed the game enough that it made you interested in playing some more. That's certainly a compliment to a game. I actually never played the original Legend of Zelda but from what I heard, it sure can test your patience with no kind of indicators on where to go and pretty much everything being hidden, which means lots of bombing for hidden entrances and such, so I don't blame you.

Here is hoping that the other Fire Emblem games will end up more to your liking even if they may not be like the one enjoyed. As for the investment you made with the other one, heh, so you also caved in in the end just like I did a while ago and went for 64 GB vita card. I certainly am happy with it, it's very convenient. Doesn't change the fact that these things are ridiculously overpriced though.

Hey there! That's alright, I totally forgot to answer your previous comment.

It's not my first time playing, not by a long shot. For some reason I've just never finished it. On my previous go, I got up to Disc 3, where I could have easily finished it (if I ignored sidequests), but I just never did. I let a friend borrow it, which ended up being for four years (they were very apologetic about that), and I never went back to it. I've been meaning to for several years, but I moved country and lost my Playstation, so I had nothing to play it on. I recently bought an original PS3 (the type with full backwards compatibility), so of course now I'm giving it another shot.

Disc 1 was very memorable. There were few things about it that I didn't remember. Curiously, I can't seem to remember most of Disc 2, so it's like I've never played it before. I do think the game has aged very badly. It's been 20 years, and its graphics look incredibly dated. In contrast, I've recently played Chrono Trigger and Skies of Arcadia, neither of which feel dated. FFVII suffers from a poor localisation, with a lot of dialogue and script problems. I'm looking forward to the remake, I hope it fixes a lot of the original's problems.

I've just got a Switch and Breath of the Wild, so hopefully I won't be too distracted and actually manage to finish FFVII this time round. It's starting to look that way though.

Yes! FE Echoes is a remake of Gaiden. The game won't have any marriage system. Well, it didn't had in the original version but I'm glad they're not going to add it. It's my most awaited game right now.
I finished Gravity Rush 2 last month and even if I liked the game a lot, the last chapter story was a mess. Still some unanswered questions and I didn't like how the lost children conclusion is DLC. Free DLC but a very short one.
The series are from Square-Enix. No one cared about it until NieR Automata and Drakengard 3.
Switch looks good because of the portability but it's too soon to get one. I'm going to get one when the next Fire Emblem comes out.

Yeah I made it past the part I was crashing on only to get stuck on a tough boss. I guess I'll need to grind a bit... Doesn't help that there's been so many game releases that I've been waiting for like Persona 5, Mass Effect Andromeda, the second Dark Souls 3 DLC, Breath of the Wild & Nier Automata...

It's certainly an interesting take on open world gameplay. I'll probably get a Switch eventually, but not until there's 5 or 6 games I want on it. Ugh I have enough games already.

Thanks! Heh I keep tweaking the purples slightly, just can't quite seem to get it 100% perfect...

Aha, that's quite alright no need to apologize.

I wish I could get into the EO series myself, it seems like a super fun concept crafting your own unique party and challenging various dungeons. I've tried getting into 4 probably 5 times at this point and always get to around the ten hour mark and end up putting it down. I don't know why either cause I'll be having fun.

I think it's just knowing that the games are incredibly long and I know I'd have a lot of trouble committing to finishing them. A big issue I have as a person is I don't like moving on from one thing (game, anime, manga) until I've finished the one I'm currently working on so really long stuff like EO is a nightmare for me even if it sounds good in theory :P

I may be getting back to Xenoblade after beating DQ7. That'll take long enough, 30 hours in and I don't think I'm halfway. But at least that's going strong. Having a good time with it.

And indeed happy that the PC is up and running and I'm back on Mass Effect 2. I'm well past where I stranded due to the video card dying, although I had a brief scare yesterday night when it crashed during saving and after that the game wouldn't start up again. Turns out the save file was corrupt enough that it couldn't even survive showing me the main menu (where it tries to figure out whether or not to show you an option to resume from your last save, which it couldn't get done). A little surgery to remove the offending save file from my hard drive did the trick, and this time, I had backup saves to fall back on - including a quicksave made 15 minutes before the problem arose. No more restarts for me if I can help it.
