An Early Bak'laag Christmas?

Currently waiting for the system transfer to the New 3DS to finish… It’s taking longer than expected. I hope the Ambassador stuff sticks around!

Minion of Bak'laag: 100+ unfinished games
For a system that can go portable, the Nintendo Switch has a decent lineup in 2017 and they only announced 30 out of the 80+ in development. Being able to play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the go is insane. I'm also looking forward to I Am Setsuna, Disgaea 5, Dragon Quest XI, Super Mario Odyssey and many more Plus that limited edition of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is just insane

(glad i said that, because this reply is 2 week late, wooho XD)

Thanks, can't say i did enjoy the holidaays, since i had a streak of exams to prepare non-stop since november (just done one today), and i did study and worked most of the holidays, even on New Year's Eve i had to work, and somehow i managed to study the morning of the 1st day of 2017, slept four hours, woke up and work after that, of course. XD Though, i'm almost done with the university's exams, still have to prepare and write the thesis, and then graduate.

Can't wait for it to be all over, frankly. XD

I like Fire Emblem, not too fond of the "Pokèmon treatment" Fates got, since to have the complete experience i should seek out the rare and (as far as i know) elusive edition with all campaigns on a single cart, and it's not on my priority list, so to say. I would get FE: Awakening if it ever went on sale for a decent price, but i never saw a copy of it on sale for cheap anywhere.

That's the beauty of Shiren and similar games, you can pick them up like that because they piss you off just enough to not make you wanna give up completely, and the gameplay does a great job on teaching you to remember what item to use and how to make use even of an apparently worthless thing on your inventory.

I did finally manage to find a Gamestop where they would do their fucking job, instead of trying to vilify me for daring to buy from the UK, like they have to give a shit about the quality of the game (which they dont', they could, but Gamestop isn't here for that and i can testify they do train their employees a little too well in this regard of "just sell it". So i got rid of The First Templar and many more crap games, had to travel by train and walk a lot, by i did manage to meet some really nice Gamestop employees there, one of them was a fellow Dynasty Warriors fan too.

Happy New Year to you too!

My beat of RE3 was with FAQ in hand as I get frustrated easily missing items in games like these, so it was probably reasonably quick. I do tend to run back to my save points a lot though. Played on Easy, so was allowed limitless saves, and I made sure to use them.

My "beat" of Spirit Justice marked the clearing of the main cases, my completion two days later marked the clearing of all DLC, that being the "Time Traveler" case and the two Asinine Attorney side stories (that have minimal interaction).

Adventure Mode opens up more as you go through Story mode. Adventure is a big grid on top of the map from the original Legend of Zelda, and each square is a battle with different objectives. Some are long, full battles and some are just a simple quiz killing 3 enemies. You can unlock new weapons, armor, heart pieces, skulltulas, etc. from Adventure. It's where about 90% of the game is. There are different adventure maps based on other Zelda titles too with their own special rules and items.

Characters all have different movesets as well as their own elemental strength. Their movesets vary by weapon too with some characters having multiple weapons. For instance, Link has his sword, the Master Sword, Epona, the Fire Rod, the ball & chain, and the spinner. If you see a golden sword icon on an Adventure grid square labeled level 1 it's a new weapon for that person.

Hyrule Warriors is a Dynasty Warriors game, so yeah, it's basically a lot of using those two buttons to attack. It keeps things interesting with a wide variety of attacks and missions though. Also, the 3DS version added warping around the map using owl statues and swapping between characters on the touchscreen, which is a godsend. Controlling characters from the map is done by tapping the map, then a character, then where you want them to go. It's made a pretty huge number of changes for the better since the Wii U version.

The holidays went pretty well for me. It was nice to not think about work for a few days before getting back just in time for all the year-end madness. How were your holidays?

Blows dust of the 'comment' button

Hey there. I wish you a Happy New Year.
So, first of all let me apologize, it's been more than half a year since I last wrote you a comment. You're not going to remember, so to give you a little refresher. I told you back then how I couldn't comment for a while because I had been moving and the whole thing went not exactly smoothly. Last time I wrote I also told you that most things were cleared up and I was finally settling in and hoping to get back to commenting and also gaming more regularly... yeah, that didn't go as planned.
In your last reply you asked me if I was enjoying the new place and yes I was despite all the trouble and I still am more so now, for that matter.
There was still all sorts of trouble following that was connect to moving to the new place that still kept me from well having enough leisure time of any sort.
Then when things finally seemed to settle down I fell ill pretty badly and that held me down for several months. Yeah, not fun.
Obviously that also screwed over any intentions of fighting the backlog. haha. But well there are more important things.
Now finally things are starting to look up again health wise. So I will be back here again for good. I know I said the same thing the last time we talked, but I am sure this time it will actually hold true.
(I sure would hope so. )
Gaming-wise I actually already beat two games in 2017 so that looks like a good start.
So yeah, sorry again for another laaaate reply.
I hope things are going well for you, both on backloggery as well as the real world.

Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
Sorry for taking so long to answer you.
GrimGrimoire is more like summon your monsters and make them attack the enemies. You give your monster orders like where to move and who to attack. The map design reminds me a lot of Odin Sphere but the game was made at the same time I think.
I didn't like Fire Emblem Fates compared to the previous games because of the story and the 3 versions but it's ok if you don't mind that. I also found marriage kinda forced. I'm more of the SNES Fire Emblem but those are very hard. Seisen no Keifu is my favorite.
Resident Evil 2 remake should happen this year and FFVII remake being episodic kinda ruins my hype to get it. At least it will get a good translation. I have no interest in getting a PS4 Pro and I don't think I'm going to get the Switch this year. I tried to play RE2 on my Vita and I forgot how bad the controls are so I'm probably going to wait for the remake.

Sure thing! I'm excited to play it, it looks fun

I would've bought it for the Vita (sucker for trophies, you see), but the touchscreen on my Vita malfunctions constantly. Thinkin' about paying to get it fixed...

Oh, and lemme know how Birthright is! I got both of them, but haven't made a dent in either. School is a bitch lol!

On Fire: 3 beat or complete in a row
re: Hyrule Warriors - I guess I had to adjust to reading the mission objectives quickly to not fail the mission, yea. i played the first few missions on easy to get a hold of it before moving to normal. it's fast paced and i really enjoyed unlocking all those zelda characters

i beat the story but i have so much more content to play, but I'll have to put it on hold for a bit. too many other games demand my attention

also nice choice with the New 3DS, great little machine. I have the red N3DS XL

If RE3 won't happen this time, it shouldn't be a big deal if you restart at some future date. It's not as though it's an RPG-length kind of game. My Backloggery says I beat it in five and a half hours, albeit on Easy.

I'm not familiar with Steins; Gate. I looked it up, this may be interesting but since there is no demo, I think I'll want to gather more information and opinions first.

Yep, the Xenosagas did a much better job holding my attention than Xenogears did. That one I plodded through mostly because it was a promise, the Xenosagas I actively enjoyed, though I don't think I'll be back to replay soon to get at all the optionals I skipped. Now that my hands are free on the console front, my priority game is probably Lost Odyssey on the XBox 360. I'm hearing many good things about it, I did buy it a while back, but never got around to trying it.

Indeed on to Ace Attorney, Silent Hill Origins dropped off as I just can't see what I'm doing and wasn't enjoying it much to begin with, so all time goes into Spirit of Justice now. Loving it, and I expect it'll be beaten before the end of the year, at least for the main game. Its DLC case, no idea. Right after, but don't know how long it is. I *should* have two days off next week so we'll see how much I can get done!
