Good to hear. Yeah, thanks to him lending me his copy of Cold Steel I ended up getting way into it... to be honest, I didn't really like CSI all that much at first, but before I knew it, I was hooked. I think it was at Chapter 4 that I really started getting into it, particularly thanks to the scenes with Elliot, Fie & Laura and then Machias' backstory. And then that ending... I couldn't even wait until we next met up, I went and bought my own copy of CSII asap. After that, I went and bought the whole Sky trilogy on Steam and played them all back-to-back. And then did another whole playthrough of them just a couple months later... I've also played Zero with the current fan-translation, and while it was unpolished, it was good enough that I still thoroughly enjoyed playing it, and I'm currently waiting on the complete Azure/Ao patch to be finished.

I'm kind of glad I got into it so late, though, because its future looked so uncertain back when FC first came out. Aside from the whole SC debacle, I was reading old threads from when Cold Steel was first announced to be coming to the west, and the common response was "I didn't think this would ever happen", as well as a lot of people dismissing Sky 3rd as unlikely to ever happen. I think that says a lot about how much brighter the series' future in the west looks now.

He might have already told you, but Peo/Ian got me into Trails, and, well, I'm a huge fan now. He lent me his copy of Cold Steel a few months back, and despite a rocky start and not really liking it at first, I eventually got really, really into it and I haven't looked back!

Only took an entirely different game series but it was worth it.

Zero Art is honestly the more useful. Having Olivier able to blow one of his top-tier spells without spending half his MP pool all at once is always welcome.

And naw, I figured. Truth be told after this I'll probably be taking a look at Totally Not Chrono Trigger (いけにえと雪のセツナ). Hopefully 3rd doesn't take too long to come around, though. I'm more interested in getting to the Crossbell arc than any other thing right now.

Guess I didn't realize how long it was taking you, though. In that case, I suppose I'm just saying I wish I had the kind of free time I used to, haha. Or the freedom to game a few hours a day at least. But, I guess I'm living a more "productive" life now. Whatever that is~

You know, it's been so long since I played that ol' XSEED release of FC that it didn't even register that the 0 Arts and 0 Craft turn bonuses weren't a thing back then. I sure love 'em though cause they make random battles so much easier (read: faster) without breaking the bosses.

Starting to think I might jump into Zero before 3rd though. Not sure how stupid of an idea that is. I'm pretty sold on these Evo releases (worth price of admission for Olivier's fucking fabulous VA alone) but I don't know if I can wait for 3rd to keep the train going. :<

What I would give to have the kind of free time you do though, son. The thought of even playing vanilla 3rd or Zero is still weeks out, I reckon. At this play rate. >>
