I've played very little of Chrono Cross - only through the initial dream sequence and the tutorial to make sure the discs work (for some reason it wouldn't load well on the PS2, so I had to re-purchase a PS1 and wanted to make sure everything worked and would save). So it's pretty much blind. I have a strategy guide that I bought when I bought my first copy back in the day, but I haven't looked at it much besides to see all of the characters.

Yep, Chrono Trigger's endings are in preparation for Chrono Cross. I know they don't really overlap much (if at all), but I only had a few endings left, so I figured I might as well. However, in reading about the new ending they added to the DS version, I think I'll save that one for after Cross, since the 13th ending apparently kind of spoils the end of Cross.

I ended up seeing King Crimson with my cousin and then Brit Floyd two weeks later. I went up to SF last weekend, we co op beat Bomberman on Switch, I beat Bomberman '93 and a bunch of Sonic hacks (of varying quality), we played some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and we beat the Simpsons arcade game, since I now have MAME on my RetroPie. We also tried SegaSonic, but it reset on us at stage 3, I dunno, maybe we accidentally hit reset?

Loving my Pi, the only things I'm kind of upset by, aside from compatibility stuff, is that for some reason the Knuckles final boss in Sonic 3 Complete has kind of glitched graphics...not a dealbreaker, but it's annoying and looks like shit. Also, I tried Sonic CD++ to test it out for streaming later, and the opening video is out of sync...but I'm really not sure if it's a different one for the hack, because I did see a few things that I don't remember. I dunno, I'll have to play the video on my Shield or something and compare. Other than that, the game seems to play fine. I guess I could possibly play it on my actual Sega CD or X'Eye, since I have a repro disc.

I actually just beat Super Bomberman 2, it has a TON of similarities to Bomberman R on Switch. I've beaten Super Bomberman 1 on SNES and Bomberman '93 on PC Engine. I actually ordered the Dreamcast Bomberman game, own all three on Saturn, and two on Gamecube. I've really been getting into Bomberman lately, I wonder if we'll get any more on Switch...I guess it depends on if the first one sold well? But...it's Konami, so who fucking knows.

I actually just streamed some Sonic 3 Complete today, after like almost 2 months. I think I may hold off on Yakuza PS2's videos, and do Kiwami instead, since it'll likely play better, and also my PS2 is in the CRT room, so I can't stream it unless I hook it up back in here, which...probably not gonna do.

Yes, I had beer fries when I went up to SF, I had to, they're WAY too good not to have them every time I go up there. I managed to walk down there (like 2 miles), but felt totally fat (I ate an entire large order) afterwards and had to Uber back to his place. Nah, I just chase the wine with sodas and stuff generally. I don't need to drink beer, I'm doing fine gaining weight on my own...stupid work cafeteria food being shit, so I have to rely on the vending machines I guess it's a good thing I was once actually underweight...nope, not anymore, that's for sure.

One month tomorrow (today)!

Sonic Mania August 15! I'm wanting to do a Mania theme, but Yakuza Kiwami comes out just two weeks later, and I'd like to do a theme for that too (Yakuza is my #1 IP, Sonic is #2), and I also have some other theme ideas floating around, including one drawing I had commissioned.

So far I've done....3 randomizers, I'm on my 4th one. Besides LttP, I've done one of Pokemon Leaf Green, and that was very fun too, it definitely helps that the randomizer has an option for every pokemon to appear, and one to edit the catch rate for if I ever want to complete the Pokedex (probably not, the last game I did that on was Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal. I downloaded ones for OoT, SMRPG, and Zelda 1, but so far the only one that actually works the way it should is Zelda 1. OoT is still in beta, as in MM, and SMRPG...the first battle does 9999 damage, so...it's kinda impossible without cheating, and...yeah, that wouldn't be fun. Oh! I got a Mario 3 one, have yet to try that. I saw a stream of someone beating Zelda 1 randomizer, so I know it works the way it should.

I really have two groups of games, solo and pass the controller co op. That is, obviously unless my cousin is over, then a lot of times we co op some Dreamcast/Saturn game. Maybe I'll play Bomberman R with him. We played Saturn Bomberman (I imported it, VERY easy to play in Japanese despite the massive cost difference, there's VERY minimal text/voices), but we got stuck on one level that didn't save between four different stages...that was a pain. I should have tried my PAR before I got rid of that...oh well. Anyway, the pass the controller co op games usually happen most weekends, and we both have a really bad habit of leaving games half finished or mostly finished and starting new ones. I also sometimes have that problem solo, so...yeah, my now playing is frikkin massive, also I'm super lazy about its upkeep.

I really do want to get back to Yooka Laylee cause I am genuinely very curious about getting further in that game, but it's gone from a high priority to...significantly lower.

I don't think I've ever bought a game THAT bad. The worst I get is like...Mass Effect Andromeda, Quest 64 and The Order. Maybe some more. I did buy Sonic 06 back on 360, but I got rid of it when I got rid of my first 360, and haven't gotten it back because fuck those loading times.

I really did enjoy Berseria, probably in my top three Tales games. Given, I've only beaten less than half a dozen, but...

Beer fries are amazing, whenever I'm up in SF I bug my cousin to catch an Uber down there (It's a 2 mile walk), he usually gets a cheesesteak. Funny thing is, I really hate the actual beer brand the sauce is made out of (Newcastle), but I brought this up at work, and I'm told Newcastle is a pale ale, and sounds like one of the worst beers to start with? I dunno, I'm not exactly an expert on beers, my extent of experience on the subject are beer fries and trying a Newcastle beer once. I drink mostly wine (and champagne on New Years). I like to make wine chasers/spritzers by having like a soda afterwards, it tastes fucking good. Definitely a lot of things you can drink after it to make the somewhat bitter taste go away. We have a wine cellar downstairs since my parents are big into wine, so I'll have some probably a few times a year. Not very often, but some.

He only really was here for one night and part of Saturday, since he had a trip to Germany on Monday for work, but from the sounds of it, I might be heading up there later this month or early next month. I'm going for a USB mod on my Nomad, so that I can play it off USB instead of the batteries, and basically have my Genesis Everdrive on the go, like when I go up to SF. It has a video port, but I'm not totally sure that his TV has AV inputs. I'm hoping to have a Retro Engine Sigma coming in some time this month, it'll probably replace my Retro Freak as my traveling console, since it's not only smaller, but can play many more systems (PCE CD, Sega CD, PS1, N64, 32X), and I got one for him, since at the time they were only $50-$60. If he doesn't want it, I'll probably send it to a guy here.

I think the only trophy I have left for PS3 plat is Lead Aspirin. I got it on 360, but it was a matter of luck, mostly. I hate it. I can do all the others with some patience and time, but that one...fuck that one.

Yeah, it's definitely nice to have an actual console have handheld play. I really was harumphing it and Nintendo (and still kind am harumphing a lot of what Nintendo does), but I quite like the system...maybe not as much as the PS4, but more than my Xbox One for sure.

I actually beat Bomberman last night, very fun game, I dunno if the reviews counted in the online battle mode, since I've heard that had some pretty bad lag before all the patches. Bomberman R is easily my favorite Switch game so far, BOTW is kinda...eh, underwhelming. It's possible the hype set my expectations too high

Well, my IndieGo actually shipped about two weeks ago, then somehow (even for express mail, it was fucking fast) it arrived here from Germany like a week ago ago. At first, I got super frustrated trying to figure it out, mainly because it's based on Linux, and I've only had two years experience with Linux back in high school, which was over 10 years ago. I also took a while to figure out the basic OS and how to set up my emulation frontends. But now I have a bluetooth dongle coming (it didn't ship, but I got reimbursed for it) and a 1TB HDD later, and with those once I get the games from the SD card to the HDD, I think things will go a lot smoother. So far I've got like 200GB worth of games, around 8.1k files, but most of those are either zip files (I got complete sets for some cart systems), or multiple track files for the ISO games. I might get even more later, I got a PC Engine list to go through that a friend here gave me. Pretty much all of the games I have marked "other" I have on there, at least the ones that I haven't already started on my Shield. Thinking that I may just play some stuff on that on the go, since the Indiego can still do more, like Saturn, DC, and strangely 32X (there doesn't seem to be any android 32x emulators). Gamecube seems like it's a ways off from being stable, which kind of sucks, but I'm sure I'll have more than enough to tide me over until it is

Nah, Berseria's endgame wasn't too bad, it was just some of the enemies felt like they had too much HP or had super high defense. Admittedly, I usually didn't bother to upgrade my weapons, really, but certain enemies just seemed to take a while to kill compared to most others. I actually just realized a few days ago I spelled it "Beseria" all this time. Oops. I don't think I've ever encountered an endgame boss quite like Albert Odyssey's last area. It wouldn't be so bad, but there were 4 big bosses in the endgame, and they took 20-25 minutes each. I think they final 3 bosses took a bit less time, but then again, that would be more expected that they'd take a long time, being final bosses. I don't remember them taking nearly as long, though. The other 4 bosses definitely felt like they kept you on your toes regarding healing and status effects, I definitely don't remember the final bosses standing out compared to those.

My cousin and I were playing Saints Row IV PS4 (which sadly we had to switch to RE5 cause it kept crashing), and I did take a screenshot of my character glitching once [Link] I've since found a few more minor bugs in Horizon, including some invisible walls, but that may be more to lock down a past story section or something.

I've beaten RE5 on Professional on PS3, I actually somehow got an S ranking on 6-3. The hardest parts were probably the boat chase, 5-3, El Gigrampe, the driving part of 2-3, and the oil fields. We're doing alright considering it's his first time playing, and my first time since like 2013. On Wednesday we beat 2-3 and 3-1 (we actually didn't get eaten by the crocs in 3-1 once, it was kind of amazing), probably going to play Lost in Nightmares this Wednesday, if we play. He's coming down to visit this weekend, so we'll probably end up gaming a ton, I have a lot of stuff in mind, we might even get to Virtua Cop 1/2 or House of the Dead 1/2 (we did Typing of the Dead, Cannon Spike, Until Dawn VR, and Vampire Night last time). I was originally going up to SF, but he decided to come down here, since he'll be in Stanford for work anyway...which means I have to wait a while longer to have beer fries again. That's probably my favorite part of going to SF, besides seeing my cousin obviously.

I mean, I could probably blast through Time Crisis 2 (now that I unlocked free play, because I'm still getting used to lightgun games), or Freedom Planet on PS4, but...so far, I'm trying to make my next PS4 game Dragon Quest Heroes II. Still not terribly far in it, but enjoying it a lot, but I loved 1 too, 2 seems even better. I've been playing Momodora as well, I'm making some decent progress in it if my map % (~20%) is anything to go by. I started up a Link to the Past randomizer on my Shield last night, got about halfway through the game in one sitting, had a REALLY good run, I actually got the Titan's Mitt from the witch, which was awesome, and also got the Golden Sword from the blacksmiths, and Flippers from Link's house. I'm really enjoying these randomizers a lot.

Yeah, I'm the same way, it's nothing more than laziness, really. Though I suppose I have gotten better about it recently (at one point I was juggling Berseria, Horizon, and Yooka Laylee). I still have to progress in Yooka Laylee, it's...it's good, but it's not really what I was hoping for, I guess. I didn't really like Tooie much compared to Kazooie, the worlds felt too big for their own good. The worlds in Yooka Laylee seem easy to get lost in if you're not careful, and a bit too big, although not as big as Tooie's. There seems to be too many minigames, which if you don't know, I despise minigames to progress. Tooie had too many, Kazooie had the perfect amount, and then...there was DK64. Easily my least favorite Nintendo Rare game, literally every other golden banana is tied to some stupid minigame, and of course you need those to progress. Ugh. I still need to beat a lot of games I'm bouncing between, most notably Resident Evil 7, Horizon, Uncharted 4, Valkyria Chronicles, Fallout 4, and Mafia III. Those are my binge games, in that I play those on days where I just space out and play games for hours on end.

I am going back to work on the 15th, so hopefully by working again I'll get some motivation back, I'm a bit lacking on it these days. I might buy a region free Saturn once I get to working again, and then probably...I don't know, I was gonna get a PC Engine maybe, but now I hear those have problems saving, something like you have to power them on every so often to keep the saves.

I think I only have like half a dozen digital games that have physical versions, minus PS+ and GwG games. Obviously you have Limited Run Games stuff too, I don't usually do those.

Running around in Breath of the Wild. You're going to be doing that a lot. And it's a good thing. No idea how many times I'd make a spot on the map with the intention of going straight there and ending up with like ten more seeds and three shrines. It was great fun.
One game at a time...
