It usually takes me longer than the average person to finish an RPG also. I have no idea where all that extra time goes, either. It's not like I attempt to complete RPGs (that never happens)! I guess grinding and maxing out skills?

As long as I have some non-RPGs to play in between, I should be okay. If there is ever a day that RPGs are all that remain on my BL, I'll be S.O.L.! Even if they are one of my favorite genres to play...

Never played, or even seen, the Puzzle Quest series on anything other than DS. At the time of purchasing the original game (the first time), it sounded best to get it on something with a touch screen. So I just kept with the plan and tried them all on DS.

This comment isn't as long as the last one, so not as much to pick through and reply to. There's not much else for me to say about Puzzle Quest, since I've never beaten it and didn't like (or remember) the two newer games. Sorry.

Congratulations on finally beating Wild ARMs 2! It's very good to hear that it's just as good as the first, if not better. Like I said before, I don't remember the first game very well, though I do remember liking it quite a lot. Some day, I'll have to get to that series... RPGs can just be so time consuming!

About Puzzle Quest - it is surely a fun RPG/puzzle hybrid! I had it once before, when it first released, and was obsessed with it. Randomly had the urge to play, after a few years, so I bought a used copy for cheap. I also tried the other two titles and thought they weren't anywhere near as good as the original. Galactrix was impossible for me to get into, nothing is even remembered from 2...

Anyway, towards the end of the first game, I slowly lost interest in playing. Mostly because the map grew to be so huge, it took forever to get around! Especially with the random battles popping up everywhere. I'm not even sure what level my wizard ended up getting to at the time of trading the game in. Trying a druid this time around, seems more difficult than the wizard so far.

It's going to be a long time before I get into Dragon's Crown again. You could say I gave myself an overdose of it and am still recovering. There's just so much to it! I was crazy to think I could complete it quick and easy. Haven't been able to even look at my Vita since... Your plan for the game sounds perfect, it's my new plan!

No sweat about taking so long to reply. I'm still as slow as always, as you can see. It's not very often that my comments/replies are short, so that doesn't make it any easier either. Sorry.

Yeah I think I'd agree with your summary or Arkham City there. I think that's one aspect of Arkham Origins that puts me off is that they've seemingly stuff more complexity into the combat with a few new enemy types and moves you need to use.

Been a while but I don't remember the combat in Arkham City being that bad. I'll agree that they threw in a couple of unnecessary elements to complicate it, though it did add some interesting challenge in places. I'd say it isn't quite as easy to maintain that lovely flow as in Arkham Asylum, but when you get it it's just as satisfying. The game as a whole is great fun though.

I indeed enjoyed the first Wild ARMs game, even though I don't remember it in detail. There's a chance that I might have even beat the game already, but I can't be certain (same goes for Suikoden). So many years have passed since it's release... The different tools per character to solve puzzles and progress, along with playing as one character in the beginning until the three meet up, are the only two things I can vividly remember.

If the second game is as similar to the first as you say, plus the new goodies that were added, I'm sure that I will enjoy it. I've been itching to play one of my older games available to the Vita lately, since it's been revived by Dragon's Crown... Maybe I will start with Wild ARMs? About how long is the first game?

Oh my, Dragon's Crown has become a new obsession. Or at least it was... Lately, when I sit down to play, the selection has been Strange Journey instead. Been trying to get that ball rolling again, since I was making such steady progress with it before DC was added. Also, I've been trying to be less of a Vita hog so the other half can play his dwarf for a bit, if he chooses.

I'm now playing as an elf and I like her a lot. She is a bit more challenging to play as, though... At first, I missed a LOT with arrows, nearly wasted every one of them. My aim has become better, so it's not as difficult to take down a crowd as it was.

It was definitely a good choice to start with amazon first. She was much easier to get the hang of. Her moves are pretty bad ass, plus she can take a beating. I've had way more "game over" screens as an elf, not many at all with the amazon.

The fighter is the guy with the shield, right? I haven't paid much attention to that one yet. I usually went ranged with my amazon's AI party - a sorceress with create food is everyone's friend. So sorceress is probably what I'll play next, after beating it with the elf. Have you decided on who to play next yet?

Holy crap - there's creatures in Wild ARMs 2 that expel sparkles from their butts?! I really need to finish the first one so I can see this...

As soon as there's a used copy of Dragon's Crown in the area, I plan on getting it for the Vita. It is nice to look at and sounds to be of decent length. The gameplay looks fun too. I only worry about the "lag" of the Vita version and the hacked online players I read about on GameFAQs...

Now that I know of the references to other games in Guacamelee, I am starting to want it. Ah, fudge... "Eventually" came soon!

Luckily for me, there haven't been too many any games releasing that I even want. Just the upcoming EO in October (which would make a four month gap in purchases). I've been much better at forcing myself to be more selective and patient with purchases, lately. It's definitely been helpful in dusting off the older games on the shelf.

Your system seems to work pretty well! Do you ever wait too long, then have a difficult time coming across a specific title? That's always been my fear, or at least it was. Not so much anymore.

That's too bad about online multiplayer in games for you. It's exactly what happened to me with Animal Crossing: WW. Usually, I'm just lacking the desire to play games online with other people because of what I mentioned before.

You're really making me curious about Dragon's Crown. It's available on both the Vita and PS3, right? I need to jump on PSN and look for a demo, though I doubt there is one. It's the games I'm sure of wanting that usually have demos released, not the ones I'm only curious about.

I would actually consider having to unlock the online multiplayer a good thing in Dragon's Crown. If I remember right, it was like that in RE: Revelations too... You would think that you're less likely (hopefully) to get stuck with an idiot at random. Right? At least I feel better about playing with someone else if I have a basic idea of how to play/survive - more confident.

Looks like I'm keeping with the schedule... One week to respond.

I am not sure what to make of that comment.

WA2 is better than 1, 3, and 1's remake, I thought.

5 though is the shit.

Neither have I, played Guacamelee (I think that's how it's spelled). After watching a video, or maybe it was just screenshots, it didn't seem to have the same charm as Mutant Blobs Attack. It's definitely not forgotten about though! I'm sure Bak'laag will be whispering it's name to me eventually...

That's exactly it about multiplayer gaming! Never even thought about the generation difference (gaming wise). I remember being upset about Halo (I think the second one) not being able to host four people on one screen, in the same room. Maybe that's what killed my console gaming? Or it could be the cost too...

I'll definitely check out Dragon's Crown once it's released. It just might end up on my wishlist. With this lack of new releases for me, I've actually been playing older games in my collection! So it works out in the end. Plus it's more money in the bank, which is always good.

Lastly, it's okay - we're both slow!

When it comes to social gaming, I have always preferred ones played in the same room. The only PC games I've continuously played online were Worms World Party, Diablo II: LoD, and World of Warcraft.

Being a girl without a console doesn't make it very easy either. It's pretty difficult to find decent guy friends to hang out with, single or not. I've only ever met one other "serious" girl gamer offline. Which is pretty sad - I'm very competitive and love to heckle! So I play pool and cribbage instead to get that energy out.

Anyway! I'll put Dragon's Crown in my wishlist so I don't forget about it. The way you explained it sounded interesting. I don't mind it when you can only move left and right during combat. It's when you can move up and down as well that I have a difficult time.

Hope things are well. I apologize for being so slow with responses again.

In Wild World, I found the game enjoyable enough to play solo. I'd just like the chance to try out the multi-player in New Leaf since I've never been able to visit another town before, or have visitors to my own town. I am already guessing that I'll prefer solo-play and probably spend a majority of the game solo. I'm just not as big on social gaming as I used to be...

I didn't know that Dragon's Crown was similar to Code of Princess. All I know of the game so far is what you've told me. Knowing more of what kind of game it is, I may have to pass on it.

I've sadly never been a big fan of that style of RPG (side-scrolling combat). The only one like it that I've been able to get into and make a lot of progress in was Tales of Destiny. Then again, ToD is the only one I've ever attempted other than that Star Ocean game that was released for Playstation in the States.

That is something I never thought of... Wild ARMs may not seem to have been very popular, though it sure does have a lot of titles to make up the series!

The biggest reason I want to get Animal Crossing: New Leaf right away is I don't want to miss out on multi-player again. I ended up getting the DS title about a year after release and no one was really playing it anymore. I'm assuming the 3DS friend code system will be perfect for that this time around!

Just the other night, I came across Dragon's Crown. That is the one that's releasing for Vita, right? I didn't get the chance to really look into it, my tablet was being wonky. I'm guessing that it is a dungeon crawler. I'd really like to start getting more use out of my Vita, it's so neglected and I have a lot of games to play/beat with it. A good dungeon crawler would surely get me to turn it on!

I don't understand why the series never became very popular... I loved what I played of the first Wild Arms game!

I tend to have the attitude of, if I have the money I should get it before I don't have the extra money and can't get it. Though it's surely not the most practical since I won't be able to even start them all. I do usually limit myself to one a month and avoid impulsive purchasing. If I'm unsure of something, I'll wait for a used copy so I can return it if I choose. The 3DS has just been merciless since around March February.

That was my reason for waiting to play XF until after I finally finish the first two games in the main series. So it may be a while yet, unless I decide to disregard the original plan. What systems are the other games on? My only probable hope of playing them would be PS1 Classics from PSN, or remakes for PSP/Vita... I really, really hope that someday PS2 Classics will be available to play on Vita!

Good luck with your Wild ARMs conquest!

That's too bad, though at least you can focus more on what you have! It's what happened to me towards the end of last year. Managed to beat quite a few games but I've fallen behind again...

I may even be poisoned soon with the possible addition of Disgaea 2 for PSP. Just got a PSN card and also replaced Mario Kart 7 with a used copy. Soul Hackers is on Tuesday...

I prefer Luigi to Mario too, though I'm not sure exactly why. This is my first time playing a Luigi's Mansion title. So far, I'm not extremely impressed but it is fun to play. Maybe I'll enjoy it more when the focus isn't on other games? I haven't touched it in two weeks and only played the first two levels.

The most recent Wild ARMs title that I know of is Wild ARMs XF for the PSP. It's available on PSN too, it may even be compatible with Vita if I remember right. Anyway, this time it's a strategy RPG. It's still on my BL, so I have no idea if it's any good.

I also have the first and the second in the series, though I won't allow myself to play the second until I finally beat the first. Which is the same reason I never started XF. How are the others in the series?

I agree that CoP started off ok, but by the middle it's either infinite juggle or be infinite juggled; and everything is entirely loot based, there's no point in doing anything OTHER than a juggle and just wait out your enemy's HUGE AS HELL life bar. There was a few cases I'd run the timer down based entirely on the fact that I just didn't have the right stats, so I had to grind. Very not fun in a game with very shallow combat depth. I'd be fine if it was actually fun to play, but it's really really braindead, so it's hard to like it.

Considering it's pedigree, it's shocking how dull it is. A huge personal disappointment.

And I can't stand the dialogue in a few cases; 4th wall breaking is ok, but it needs to be clever instead of awkward. This felt like a bunch of 14 year olds making bad star wars puns or something while standing in line to see the Phantom Menace. It was uncomfortable.

Good music though.

I think white might work, yeah, or a really light gray. I dunno, maybe my colour balance on my monitor is wrong, but it's personally just a little hard to see is all. Don't take my word for it if you think it's good, I'm just some idiot.

Two things:

Two, Make your font a light colour. Dat lack of contrast.

Well that's too bad... I guess I won't be playing ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. Perhaps someday I'll have the opportunity.

There really isn't anything coming out for you recently, or soon? I've added three in just the last month. I am still a bit unsure of my Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon purchase. It's fun so far, it's just a question of how long the fun will last since this style of game tends to get repetitive and/or boring after a while. It does have a better chance having Luigi, instead of Mario, though!

Mirror of Fate isn't that bad. The things that I hear everyone complain about (frame-rate and lag) I haven't even noticed, even after hearing about them. So far, the only thing that annoys me is the loading time between areas of the castle. I can live with it though.

The only God of War game that I spent a lot of time with was the first one and I never even beat it. Perhaps that's why I don't recognize any similarities in the game. I'm not sure that would really bother me much or not. Granted, it takes away from the "Castlevania" feel but it's still enjoyable enough for me to play.

I can understand why you would want to wait until a cheaper price tag can be found. It's not very spectacular for being the first on 3DS, though I've only put an hour into it so far. Maybe this one was to get a feel for it with the new system and they'll release something better soon.

It's good to see you playing Wild ARMs! On the Playstation, I made it pretty far into the game but never finished it. Some day, I hope to... I remember it being pretty good! I also remember a mouse, no monkeys...
