That was my second favorite part of the comic! It was something about the O-zone, the Oh-No Zone, and the Koopa Zone when she said that!

That's awesome. Good luck with that, I hope you don't hit the writer's block wall as hard as I do sometimes.

I have a small portion of the games on the list. Those I don't have I will eventually play through by borrowing from friends and my brothers, and the others whenever Gamefly sends them my way.

The whole "Brydolf" avatar is the main character in a book I recently finished that I am trying to sell to an agent to be published. The character is a mildly overweight detective in his early to mid-50s and as soon as I saw that picture I knew it was a perfect match.

Yes, I have a LOT of 360 games to play through. The guy in the picture is William Conrad, who played District Attorney J. L. "Fatman" McCabe in a show in the late 80s called Jake and the Fatman.

Thanks!

Yeah, it's pretty annoying as I keep dying because I don't want to go back and heal and then I'll get surprised attacked by a monster and die. I haven't had time to play it recently though, but I need to gain a few levels first the next time I attempt it.

Haha, I never use Giga Attack either. Like, ever. Man, it'd have come in very handy so many time in X7 I'm sure, and since I played my X run on a New Game + I started with the ability to use it -- but never once did I, except accidentally. I just... forget, you know? It was like that in X2, too -- but the more "general purpose" Giga attacks, that do more than just 'clear the screen' or whatever, I find myself remembering and using much more often. X3's infinite buster was such a badass idea that I'm sad they never used again (well... Quick Charge and Ultimate Buster kinda remove the purpose, I guess, but it was so GOOD in x3). Nova Strike is fun to use and helps substantially with platforming and reaching areas, like Flame Stag's charged move in X2. Falcon Armor's Giga was like the old screen-clearers but since it hit multiple times and was immensely useful in several situations I remembered it a bit more often. Shadow Armor's is my favorite in the entire series, it was one of the main reasons that's my favorite and perhaps the most OP X armor ever (barring what I may find in X8). And Zero's gigas tend to be easy to remember, as they're quick and simple and supplement his playstyle well, getting you safe if you're surrounded.

I dunno, X7 makes it feel so much like X is just plain a better version of Axl, sadly. I loved Axl but then I realized that X, fully powered-up, had pretty much the exact same normal shot, plus a charge shot, plus chargeable weapons, plus the built-in damage reduction and increased health regen, plus a giga attack (not that I ever used it)... The chargeshot was mostly sadly pathetic in X7 even though it LOOKED extremely badass, and most of the charged weapons were pretty but again largely useless, and Axl's glide is WAY better and I LOVE it, but... even still, even with all that, his amazing defensive capabilities and stuff and all these mostly-useless-but-still-THERE-AT-ALL kinda push him over the top. I guess if I learned how to better-put-to-use those small 'buff' powerups Axl can get from small enemies, I would change my mind. I'm glad they're more balanced and equally awesome in X8, though.

I dunno, X8 feels so much more like an SNES X game in level design from as much as I've played, tons of awesome exploration and crap, and the stages seem SO MUCH less gimmicky than the X4-6 trilogy, so... Once I knock out this Hard mode Zero run on X7, I'll be all over it, though. Busy week it's been!

I've been playing the SaGa series since long before I knew it was the SaGa series, had FFL 2 and 3 as a kid on GB. I wouldn't say it's my favorite RPG series (I'm not sure what would be, other than the generic answers of Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, or Lufia even though I only ever played the first 3) and I still have not finished SaGa Frontier 1, or even touched any of the Romancing SaGas or Unlimited, but I certainly would like to someday, for all of those. By far, though, SF2 is my favorite of them, and I intend to play through it (and fully complete it) again in the future. It's interesting that you love Unlimited so much, I've heard so much negativity about it, yet I heard all that about MMX6 which ended up being pretty excellent (avoiding xtreme mode) and maybe this would have the same feel.

Oh and yeah man, SaGa 2/FFL2's overworld, what's it called, The Journey? That's one of my all-time favorites, too, those games had over-the-top fantastic music for the limited Gameboy.

I don't see why I shouldn't send messages to people with MM avatars, since it's my favorite game series of all time and all... I usually do if I see someone with like an 8-bit megaman sprite or something. Now that I'm finally sinking my teeth into the MM games I never played before, namely the later X series and perhaps Zero and ZX after that, I'll do it more often.

Yeah though, man, I dunno, I wasn't impressed with X7 my first time through as mostly-Axl, and got frustrated a lot in my X run, but really by the end of it I was getting 'used' to the game far more than I thought I ever would. And now that I'm playing Hard with Zero, it actually feels... kinda... neat, kinda fun. It definitely is one of those games that seems horrible but really grows on you, I guess you could say. It's so funny how X6 impressed me and X7 grew on me, but X5, which of the three most people by far prefer the most, I liked the least from beginning to end, even going through it multiple times.

There's absolutely no way I could ever, ever use default controls for MMX. Ever since my brother showed me the wonders of setting Dash to the 'R' button in the SNES days, I can't go back. Dash, jump and shoot should all 3 be very easily accessible without having to move your fingers around too much, imo. One reason I didn't play ZX when a friend let me borrow it in the past was because Dash HAD to be on L, I couldn't get used to it at all, lol... (cont)

ALSO, SF2 IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE RPGS EVER.

...Even though I only beat it once. About a decade ago. And never completely finished everything and probably missed a large amount of Quells and stuff. I really should play it again, it's gorgeous in all ways.

[Link] Not to mention having probably my favorite overworld map music of any game ever, and overall just one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard.

Well of course I have a lot of pony friends, every time I see someone with a pony avatar on the main page I say hello! I should probably do that with people who're using avatars from games I like a lot too, but then that'd be most the site probably...

To be perfectly honest with you, I really never got that into X7, even to the very end. Way way way too much annoyance, it just feels so sloppy and wrong the whole way through, so much less-polished than ANY previous Mega Man X game or even Classic game, and the 3d portions were just SO weird and wrong and with the way I wanted my controller set up I had the camera movement set to the only available buttons -- Circle and Triangle -- which was awful. Really, though, after going through the game once I think I'll set Giga Attack and Character Swap to those buttons and set the camera to L2/R2, should be MUCH better. And knowing what to expect everywhere will make everything far better, as well as playing as the "better" characters X and Zero my next times through.

Hyenard was AWFUL, haha, but kinda fun compared to the other voices. His voice was just SO BAD, though, made Tornado Tonion sound soothing in comparison. I have to say by far, and I mean BY FAR my favorite boss was Crowrang, as well as Sigma phase 1 -- they're both 2d, which feels *right*, and are both very fun and not frustrating. Sigma phase 2 was actually not too bad either, I didn't like the fact that like all the worst fights it took place on a 3d plane you could fall off of easily but in the end it was pretty cool and had very awesome music, and Sigma just looked great -- and it made me think of his 'perfect body' in X5, as if it were complete and able to move fully. Pretty rad.

Yeah, I pretty much feel the same way about X6. It has far more positives AND negatives than the safe, middle-of-the-road X4, and overall is just plain better than X5 all things considered I'd say. And the music is amazing, and the visuals are great, and the story's one of the best in the series I feel even if it's not perfect and of course ends predictably. Though, with those flaws, it still falters compared to the SNES trilogy horribly and comes out about even with X4 for me in the end. And oh my gosh, Xtreme mode, seriously, that was the worst garbage I'd just about ever experienced, for zero reward other than knowing I've completely finished the game.

I love bugs and mustaches too (Cricketune is one of my favorite pokemon, for example) but I still can't figure out the "-vich" part of Scaravich. Scarab sandvich? Yosha is adorable, makes me think of Robotnik's "yoooosh" when petting a chao in Sonic Adventure 2... I think my favorite PSX-era Maverick noise has gotta be Jet Stingray's YEEEAH though, it makes me think Michael Richards voiced the guy, lmao.

Whoa whoa whoa there, kinda spoilers about X7!... But I'm almost 10 years late to the game, and that's actually AWESOME to hear, so I'm all for it. I'm enjoying it just fine so far, though the sloppy controls and visuals and stuff make it feel so weird.. gameplay being perfect or not, one thing X1-6 ALL had in common was extremely slick visuals and extremely tight controls, you know? X7 feels all experimental and no more refined as a 3d megaman game than Legends a console generation before it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Legends, but again, the visuals and controls were extremely sloppy there too, though you got used to them. As I'm slowly doing with this game.

Ugh yeah I know. I wish there were some way to have like a window of opportunity to rescue Reploids after being touched by an enemy in those games, or at least be able to just exit and re-enter the stage and have them rescuable again. It's a pain having to reset the game every time I miss, for a completionist like myself.

Yeah, X's voice is horrible but so much better than his X4 dub voice it's kinda forgivable.. Axl is weird, but strangely fitting like you said.. and Zero is actually kinda TOO deep and manly, I haven't played X8 but a California guy accent might actually fit him at least better than that, hahah.

Not sure what I'm doing on SV, actually. I guess you have to press certain buttons at the right time or something during what I think might be one of their music videos.

...Oh, and man, I just realized your name's Scaravich. I thought it seemed oddly familiar when I got to Ground Scaravich's stage in X6...

No, seriously, if you're one of the few that like X6, I agree. At least when I was playing it over and over on Normal to see all the endings, reach Gate's base in various ways, try both characters, etc. But on Xtreme... HAHAHAHA. That's the quickest way to get a longtime Megaman fan to feel a SEETHING HATRED for a Megaman game, right there~

I think so far I'm feeling kinda the same way about X7. It has that "first 3d game in a series" sloppy-transition feeling, but hell, even Ocarina of Time feels EXTREMELY sloppy compared to the previous Zeldas and if you stick with it a bit you realize it's rightfully considered one of the greatest games of all time. So X7 probably isn't going to top the X1-3 throne in my heart but after getting past that harsh intro (where a game over = starting from the beginning, and a lot of SUPER LONG CUTSCENES) the game becomes surprisingly... kinda extremely fun. And yeah, I'm REALLY diggin' Axl, man. I even like his goofy-ass English voice, though my second time through I'll try the Japanese ones. And now that I"m finally done with the nightmare of X6, I'll be able to focus more on it.

Only problem besides the two you mentioned (which especially make Zero hard to play, at least as un-upgraded as he still is in my game, sadly) is the returning Reploid Rescue system, where it's so easy to lose them. I wasn't aware that they were gonna die in this game since there's not Nightmare, but just getting hurt kills them it seems... so I accidentally lost a couple in the first stage I played. But now I know, and knowledge it power!

Yeah, though, X7 is solid and strangely addicting. And X8 I'm hyped for, since I hear it's very good.

It was going to be a 4 person "whomever can beat the game first wins" type of deal, but it has been unfortunately rescheduled until a later time. Oh well, it gives me time to perfect the stages!
