Oh, my dear Zidane, don't get me wrong! I do think Dracula X is a great game, I do think is underrated too! And I like it more than Castlevania IV! I was just mocking how everyone say "Yeah but Rondo is better".... They are tow different games. Rondo is indeed a superior game (heck is probabli one of GOAT), but X / Vampire Kiss, is a good game too!

An Ace Attorney Investigations collection would be really cool! AAI2 is very good, I played the fan translation myself so that's still acceptable to fall back on if they don't bring it over, but if they did that would be better of course~

Honestly? I felt the same. I read and saw a lot, and at some point I wondered if stuff can even surprise me anymore and GAA absolutely did! I think it is mostly because the art of something being surprising or fresh starts at being set up properly, and being in general a story that's thought out very well. I also think Shu Takumi, while he was always good, also improved over the years and really nailed his craft. GAA wasn't the most surprising story, it was just so genuine and well done in what it did that it surprised me and I loved every second of it. I read some VNs once in a while and while all of them are fun or interesting in their own way, something about how Shu Takumi writes his stories speaks the most to me. His characters always feel a little more real, his stories always feel a little more fun~ He is an excellent writer. GAA was also great for me because it revived my love for the series in general. An investigations collection would be great! I loved the second game especially :3 more people deserve to experience it ~

Donut County was ok-ish I guess, I enjoyed it even if was too much "little" of a game.
Short and with few contents. But heh is a neat game indeed

Oh, Pirate Curse was also my favourite! It was so, so good!
The sequel (played em both on Wii U) was an odd one. Not bad but not as polished as 3.
It could do lot of amazing thing, but most of ideas ended up wasted. You can morph in so many forms, but some of em are used like... once or twice only? It was so puzzling, maybe they was late with the development or what not but heh... Also the DLCs...
Anyway luv Shantae, mght not be my Favourite metroidvania saga (I think Ori, for example, is a better one) but she kick ass... And is so adorable (I will admit I'm not hating the light fanservise put, with nice taste, here and there)
Will play the new one for sure, probably not in a short time, but we will see.
Kinda a bummer that is not on the Wii U, but is understandable!

Yup! I'm kinda a Zelda n00b! Played Links Awakening back then and loved it, also I'm a big Fan of BOTW and Twilight Princess. Oddly enough I never player Ocarina or Majora, even if I played Zelda 2
Oh Btw, new Shantae game is out
Luv Shantae!

Indeed. New Players will not be able to understand most of things, while Old Fans (like us) probably disliked the last hour of the game... Soooo... Why they did it?

I do agree with everything you said, and is Kinda clear that they wanted to do something new but felt "caged" by the Remake, and had to let everyone know about it, by spamming it in the game plot.
I think that this reaction, expecially the Nomura's one, is kinda childish tho, they took the job and had to put their ego aside, but nah they tried to be Kojima. They had to fight against the "Old Fanbase" themself. A war made and fought by themself only, in their head tho.
And I mean, I understand that, and is not "wrong" per se... I guess? But yeah, it seem to me like they are making everything just for themself, cuz they are sure that their Fanboys will be fine with it no matter what. I mean, Nomura is used to it, due the KH Fanbase. Aha
Anyway I don't want to trash the game, it have lot of nice stuff, but I'm not blind enough to not see the many flaws it also have.

Game begin and end with a huge "Directed by Tetsuya Nomura" on the screen.
He was so proud of it I guess. But truth is that he is only able turn everything he work into a KH-Like trainwreck, I used to say that years ago and sadly this is still happening.
In my opinion he is the biggest reason why FF quality dropped down so badly, he can make only linear games with terrible plots and stupid gameplay gimmicks. But no one seem to understand it.
Talking about all those that theorize on the second chapter heh:
*Spoiler Spoiler Dooh*
Nomura love to do that, but I think the answer is really simple, and we all know what actually happened in the game: A weird Sephiroth (maybe the AC one?) traveled back in time (probably?) and gave the knowledge of what "will happen" to Aerith. Aerith did the same with Marlene and Red, cuz yes. Ghosts appeared to protect the OG timeline (maybe they also represent the players that didn't want any change? lol might be in Nomura's head) but team "changed the future" by defeating em, due to that they created another timeline, with one of the worst "try to surprise ya" ending I ever seen.
But you know what is funny? They writed it in a way that, if the backlash for the ending was too huge, they could just go with "Nah it was just Sephiroth messing with Cloud and also the Player", if ppl prised it they could go all in with Cloud and Zack fighting iunno who alongside Sephiroth (saving Aerith and stuff), or stay in between like this one was (beside the ending). Such a cheap trick, this is not the proper way of making games.
Anyway game could be great, even if it had big flaws (way too linear, slow story pace here and there, terrible side contents), they showed us that they could make a good remake, but at the end all we got was just "ok" mostly because OG VII was a masterpiece, and is really hard to ruin that. But... Nomura (lol Leslie and Chadley). So yeah, FFVII deserve better.
Oh well, at least I think they will never do this to IX. IX is a game for true fans, Nomura is not into that

Let's see...

1. Final Fantasy VII
2. FInal Fantasy VI
3. Final Fantasy IX
4. Final Fantasy
5. Final Fantasy IV

First three are pretty much on the same level for me, it was hard to choose!

VII as an european was my first FF, my first experience with a big open world JRPG. It was mindblowing at the time (a true meteor that hit the market!) so I kinda have a huge nostalgia-effect on it, but I replayed VII few years ago, and I have to say that is still a great, great game. Sure is a bit "cheesy" here and there, with all its 90s anime stuff (Nomura's thing), but is still an amazing work. Lots of contents, cool charas, amazing music, good story pace. Probably the more "cool" of em all.

VI is probably the most "adult" FF, the most refined one, indeed one of the best 16-Bit JRPG (that alone say A LOT!), and overall a really clever work. The intro was insane, a true piece of art, it probably have the best cast of charas and the most charming "world", what an amazing game. No doubt one of the best game of all time!

IX is a masterpiece, probably the "Best FF" from an impartial point of view, the more "warm" title in the saga, a charming game with an unique magic inside it. Is unique. Music in just too good, story is like reading a fairy tail. The most genuine title in the saga, a work of love, a game made with true feelings. A true gem!

FF is the original one, so innovative and fun to play. Is amazing how a game that old, can be still a joy to play. Probably the FF I re-played the most, simple but tons of fun.

IV was my last pick, I had difficult time choosing it! I love III (immense for an 8-bit game, job system was a blast) V is great and XII, even if it was the begin of the end, was lot of fun (didn't play it back then because I was, and still am, against Square-Enix, but I decided to play it few years ago, and I actually enjoyed it) even VIII is not bad at all. But IV is the more "balanced" game in the saga, not too simple, not too compex, nice story and charas. Is pretty much the "solid pick" of the bunch.

Oh I bet that sooner or later the NES version of DQ1 will end on Switch, is jsut a matter of time. Such a short JRPG btw, even a "casual" playthrough is around 10 hours. Give it a shot when you can, as you said is an important piece of history!
Talking about FFIII I played only the famicom version, I know there was a remake (my GF played the DS one) and I heard very mixed opionions about it, maybe I will check it some day!
So nows the time for "that" question: what are your, lets say, top 5 FF?

Sakaguchi said himself that (IIRC) IX was the best work he made, the one he was more proud of.
Is the most "FF" game of the PSX trilogy for sure, an amazing masterpiece where Uematsu did an amazing Job as well. Not that FFVII is a bad game ofc
And yeah, III was kinda limited by the fact that it was on an 8-bit console, but is amazing how much content is in there, compared to other JRPG at the time. It feel to me like a 16-bit JRPG at times. The fact that it was super-grindy tho was a shame for sure, but again I think that is more or less fault of the time it was released (look at the early DQ games).
Glad to meet someone that know what he is talking about, when we chat about FF btw
As a Fan of the saga (heck I played all the modern one as well ) I can say is a rare thing

FFV is also nice, so is III on FamiCom! JobSystem is tons of fun indeed.
But I think overall IX is such a masterpiece, compared to those two, great games.
What is a backlog? A miserable little pile of games!
