What do you think of all the new weapons in the Bloodborne DLC?

I'm enjoying it quite a lot actually. This is my second Metroid-Vania style one, my first being Order of Ecclesia. I'm addicted now. I own most of them, the only ones I need are Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow. I will say though, Portrait of Ruin is definitely less difficult than Order of Ecclesia. Still challenging, but less punishing. That and I have a Castlevania game under my belt now before playing this. Before Ecclesia the only one I'd played was Super Castlevania 4. That's one thing I love about this series though, it's never cheap difficulty, it's always completely fair. It's just a matter of getting better.

Ya, I haven't even touched that series. I own all the games, but damn, 7 games in the series with the 8th coming out. That will take a while to get around to playing. Especially with an RPG series. I'm super interested in the series, since I know a lot of people absolutely love it. It's just a daunting task. I guess I'll just start simple and play the first one sometime.

Ya, I definitely agree, at the time I made my original post to you, I hadn't actually played the final chapter. It definitely does pull things off well though! Pretty much that whole chapter was great, especially the last half of it when you're in the final room. Everything was delivered really well in the classic Danganronpa style. That final battle was amazing too!

Ya, I definitely like the notes scattered around, it was a great mix of showing how messed up the world is, and the others adding to character development of Komeru and Toko which was great. I will say, with those two the character development is awesome.

Ya, I agree, it's a topic that doesn't need to be avoided in terms of writing, it just need to, like you said, be handled with a little extra maturity and tastefulness. Silent Hill 2 is the example that I always go to with how to properly handle something like that, as well as a few other very upsetting topics. (Highly recommend playing that game by the way, amazing story and atmosphere). Ya, it's just unfortunate the way Danganronpa handled it, I think with the series over-the-top style (not a criticism) that they couldn't really find a way to deal with that properly, and could have perhaps gone a different direction. Oh well, what's done is done, and like I said, it definitely wasn't game ruining, just a little cringe inducing.

To be honest I think the NPCs might have actually just been part of the art style. The game is M-rated, and has no lack of mature content, so I think things like the pink blood and coloured NPCs might be part of the art style. It would have been cool to see them all be unique looking though.

Ya, 2016 definitely is. I'm trying to save some money to get a PS4 since there's already some games I want for it (Bloodborne) but there's a few that I REALLY want to be able to get when they're released like Final Fantasy 15, and Kingdom Hearts 3, and even that last Kingdom Hearts HD collection. Then obviously the games I already mentioned on their respective systems.

I'm not sure how Bayonetta did commercially to be honest., your guess is as good as mine. Definitely excited for the third one though.

By the way, I'm completely hooked on Castlevania now haha. I can't get enough! I'm starting Portrait of Ruin now, which I remembered is one of your favourites, and so far, so good, I really like it!

Ya, it's really fun! I actually played them both back-to-back and didn't get sick of either. The second introduced some new game-play mechanics as well, that are pretty cool. They're actually working on a third game in the series right now that's supposed to be out in 2016!

I'm enjoying it so far! The game-play is really fun, the way they introduce new truth bullets constantly adds variety to the game, and it never really gets stale, which is nice. I do find the game to be a little....fan-servicey, to the point where it's a little "Ok, ok give it a rest!" Like the machine thing in chapter 3 and the scissor fight in chapter 4. Doesn't ruin anything for me, just kind of makes me roll my eyes a bit. Also, I DID NOT think the game would go where it did with the backstory of chapter 3's antagonist. I didn't think that was handled all that well to be honest. Again didn't ruin anything for me, just kind of made me grit my teeth a bit.

Overall though, I like the over-arching story, especially with the reveal going into the final chapter, which I'm gonna try to beat today. It adds some awesome backstory of the captives from the first game too. The music is good, it has some great humour. The character development is really good as well. I like it. It's not as good as the main series, but it's definitely a good game, and I'm really looking forward to the third main game next year. Man, Zero Time Delema and Danganronpa 3 in the same year!
