Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer
Recruited everybody! Destruction Scroll! Cleared all the dungeons, including the Final Puzzle (twice!)! Borg Mamel: Level 83!

Updated about 1 day ago

★★★★★ The original Mystery Dungeon game not tied to an already existing franchise, and it's awesome. It's very unforgiving if you don't prepare for the journey, even if the main game only consists of a single, 30-floored dungeon with villages sprinkled in there. If you die, you go back to the beginning and you revert back to level 1. Your interactions with other NPCs are kept, though, so you can make every attempt easier if you can get them to help you eventually. It's incredibly rewarding.

Shovel Knight - Treasure Trove: Specter of Torment
Beat the main game, and collected everything! Beat all the challenges!

Updated about 4 days ago

★★★★★ This just might be my favorite Shovel Knight campaign yet. You play as Specter Knight, and he controls pretty much like a ninja. You can slash at enemies, you can climb on walls for a short amount of time, you can wall jump, and you have a really fun homing attack. The story is great, the stages feel completely new, and the characters are fun as usual.

Pokémon Shuffle
Caught: 835. Main Stages: Beat Mega Sharpedo (600). All 4 new Pikachu caught! Farming Gulpin for skill boosters.

★★★★★ It's a match-three game. And it's free to play, too. But it has Pokémon elements, like Mega Evolutions, type effectivenesses, and special abilities. Your Pokémon can gain experience which makes them stronger, you can change some of their abilities, you can pretty much make up and train your own team... It can be pretty addicting, and they update it all the time, so it's a really big time sink, and it's my most played 3DS game to date, which is not a small feat.

Team Kirby Clash Deluxe
Level 50. Beat all the stages, including "The Real Final Battle". Playing for free.

☆☆☆★★ A meatier version of the side-game from Planet Robobot. It's free to play, which means time locked stuff if you don't want to pay... And you have to wait too much for my taste. The base game is fun, and there are many fanservice-y elements, but there are too few bosses which are constantly re-used. Best played in multiplayer, as the AI is really dumb.

☆★★★★ A very good game, but it's Mario Kart, so that's not so surprising. The physics are pretty good, there are motorcycles now, and the character roster is impressive, but it takes too little to get from first place to almost last. It feels a bit more chaotic than the other ones. Maybe because this was the first one with 12 racers instead of 8, and they couldn't handle it well yet.

Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
On Fire: 3 beat or complete in a row
2016 was SO BAD a year for gaming that I had feared I couldn't find at least a GOOD game to put as my game of the year. Then, Rhythm Heaven came out and blew every other game out of the water. The game isn't just good, it's sublime. And it's a shame that nobody will play this, really. I hope the My Nintendo reward boosted sales at least a little. The game deserves that.

Oh yeah, the speedruns... I kinda gave up at the Bonus chaptet to focus on the maze, and then never finished them. They didn't unlock anything anyways, so I didn't bother to go back to them.

Whoa, the Metroid amiibo is squishy? I missed that bit of news. Now I wanna buy that one too. And I thought I was done with buying amiibo...
Looks like you've finished it, congrats. I found it really challenging too, it took me about as much practice and play time as finishing The Perfect Run in SMG2 did.
I thought it lagged behind on purpose to make it harder for you to backtrack. If you arrive to a dead end and need to turn around, you risk to run into that 4th mummy.

Oh yeah, I didn't see this announcement coming! Probably the best news at E3 for me. The amiibo looks amazing, I really like its pose in particular. I'm hoping it will unlock a Koopa costume of sorts in Odyssey, that would be fantastic.
How's Mummy-Me Maze Forever going, BTW?

I see you're going to Treasure Tracker... Good luck with the last secret level. It's not very hard itself, but it's extremely long, and some parts will test how quick your reflexes are.

That is exactly the kind of patience I lack. When I'm forced to play the same levels over and over again, especially if the game limits me to just a few attempts per day (like in this case), I get really annoyed.
Nice! It's good seeing old bosses like Wham Bam Rock still making cameos from time to time, instead of being forgotten completely.

I see, so it's probably not my kind of game... Kind of a shame, I quite liked the original Team Kirby Clash minigame and I hoped they would do a deluxe version, but I wasn't expecting a F2P one.

Just wondering, how bad are Team Kirby Clash Deluxe's in-game purchases? If I don't pay any money, is the game beatable in a fairly short amount of time, or does it take months like Pokémon Picross?

I'm happy it is coming nonetheless, I was scared that 3DS games wouldn't make their way to Europe now the Switch is out. I wasn't going to buy the retail collection because I own the other games already. It would be a shame if the amiibo won't be released outside of Japan, though, even though they don't seem to lock a lot of content behind them.

It really was; I was pretty floored. It's like what Ocarina of Time should've been; even the boss fights looked like they rewarded creativity, rather than always just "Okay, hit this thing with this item, use your sword," and I liked that each dungeon had several minibosses; it made it feel much less procedural. I mean, the stun and chop method is pretty tried and true - my mom uses it to get rid of snakes in her yard - but in Majora's Mask, you had more than just one possible solution to a problem; it felt a lot more natural. My favorite area was the swamp; what was yours?

Really, I just happened to have a pretty free weekend and decided to pour as much time as I could in Ocarina of Time. I will probably slow down during the week, and also because I have reached the destroyed Hyrule part and I... don't really like destroyed cities, they make me sad.

It does matter, though. At least I know I'm getting into the series in the best of ways. I didn't really enjoy Wind Waker, and if I didn't play Ocarina of Time, I don't think I would have tried any more Zelda games.

Yeah, and a 3D one. I know, it's crazy.
I need to experience some Zelda games before Breath of the Wild comes out. I want to (or maybe even if I feel like it) at least Ocarina of Time 3D and Wind Waker HD next month.

I did, and I'm amazed by all the variety shown too! However, I'm a little disappointed by the Qbby amiibo, a random costume and the ability to color the whole screen don't really justify a 15€ purchase for me. Really digging the Kirby costumes (especially King Dedede), I also love how the cubes turn into the classic star-shaped blocks from the home series.
