Sad to see you go. I'd wondered where some people had gone lately. Don't like the design of Backloggd with the lack of system lists and giant game tiles. While Backloggery has always served my needs as a simple cataloguing/tracking site for a simple dude like myself, I'm cool to just wait for the new update.

Sorry for the late response! I was hoping I'd have more to say about Dragon Quest Treasures once I've sunk a few hours into it, and well... After three hours of glorified tutorials, I finally made it to the meat of the game. I'm pretty indifferent to it. I don't hate it, but there's nothing really pulling me back, making me want to keep playing it. The combat is extremely simple. You could do a melee attack or cumbersomely aim a slingshot at your enemies, but you'll soon find out that you're better off letting your three-monster team take care of enemies. You have no command over your team, so they just kinda kill everything in your path automatically.

Collecting treasures boils down to searching for a glowing spot nearby whenever your treasure indicator goes off. There's really not much more to it. If you saw the trailers, you might remember a heavily advertised feature where you get a glimpse of the treasure's exact location through your monster's eyes. You're better off not bothering with that, though, because it's faster to just run around until the glowing spot appears rather than cycling through monster visions and trying to ascertain the exact location.

So yeah, I only played three hours, so those are just my initial thoughts. I'm not trying to dissuade you from checking it out, but I was personally unimpressed. I'm a huge Dragon Quest fan and I was hoping this would be like "DQ meets Pokemon Legends: Arceus" but I'm not really getting that feeling. I plan on giving the game another go sometime in the future, but I'm gonna put it aside until then.

Merry Christmas, by the way!

Usually everyone I talk to that has actually played Federation Force has found some kind of enjoyment out of it. Do you recommend it be played multiplayer, or do you think it would still be fun solo? I've been trying to convince some friends to give it a try but they don't want to come close to that game!

SMT IV Apocalypse has been okay so far. I somewhat like what they are doing with some of the characters, but it will be interesting to see how this continues forward. I still prefer SMTIV's characters over this one. This definitely feels more like a Persona game with how the characters are written/presented versus a SMT game? Just kind of a vibe I get. I love the changes to the HUD and overall presentation though.

How's Federation Force going? I'm planning on playing that before Dread comes out.

Just like you at the beginning I wasn’t really feeling it and back then Breath of the Wild released and it had my attention a whole lot better.

Going back to it again it’s pretty good but I also stalled on it again. I should go back to it again whenever I finish several games in my backlog.
