Star Fox Zero
I never totally got used to the controls. Still pretty fun. Not the mess some people seem to think. You just have to TRY. I miss that in games...

Well, it's happened. Kojima has gone and founded his own company. I wonder where it will go from here...

Minion of Bak'laag: 100+ unfinished games
I didn't like Jack very much either, my first time playing. She's abrasive, but Shepard can win her over, and bond a little. She's grown on me over time.

Miranda never did. She introduces herself by shooting an injured man in cold blood and then proceeds to have a smug, superior, little miss perfect attitude the remainder of the game. To add insult to injury, she sets up her office in the exact place Shepard's quarters used to be.

More than any of the other characters, she doesn't feel like part of my crew; she's Cerberus to the core. Don't like her, don't trust her, don't want her. If the Illusive Man insists on having her aboard, then she can park her butt behind her desk and stay there.

How's that for a random comment.

Edit: I suppose I should also add that first time around I didn't have so much animosity toward Cerberus, but at the time I hadn't played the ME1 missions concerning them. Know that I know what they're like I'm a lot less willing to play ball with them.

P.S. Oh and by the way, you may be interested in knowing that Mitsuda is releasing a brand new soundtrack next month that is an orchestrated arrangement of the Chrono Cross soundtrack--you know, the one fans have been clamoring for for like 15 years. It's called "To Far Away Times: Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross Arrangement Album." I've already pre-ordered it, and I recommend you do the same! (I just hope it's a lot more Cross and less Trigger, since he's already released Trigger arrange albums.)

Yeah, Kojima definitely strikes me as the kind of guy who exhausts all of his ideas into a game and gives it 101%, and then he's ready to move onto something new. I got the impression that he really was planning for MGS to culminate with 4, but then Konami said they would made a Metal Gear sequel with or without him because money, so he came back on board so they wouldn't bastardize it. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that was the case. And I agree, a re-release of Snatcher or a translation of Policenauts would be amazing, even if just in digital form. (I've been tempted to import Policenauts despite the language barrier but it'd be a fool's errand since I wouldn't be able to read it.) I do really like Konami's backcatalog though, especially their history with the Ninja Turtle games. Castlevania is great and Silent Hill is one of the few horror games I actually like since it's so subtly terrifying. (By the way, whatever happened to that Kojima PS3 horror game?)

Yeah, Mitsuda is incredible. I may be his biggest American fan since I own virtually every soundtrack he's composed or arranged (except Gun Hazard or Hopeful Weeds, very rare). Chrono Cross is definitely one of his absolute best and really showcases his mastery of the Celtic and World forms of music. Some of my favorites from there are Termina Another (YESSSS), Voyage Home World, Chronopolis, Arni Village Home, Guldove Another, and Dimension Break. However, I still consider Xenogears to be his greatest work in terms of the strength of the soundtrack as a whole. The songs encompass a full range of moods and there are inspired vocal choruses that transcend video games and almost go into the spiritual--it's pretty incredible. A lot of people like listening to his popular Chrono Trigger songs and stuff, but when you really delve deep enough I don't think people realize just how flexibly and immensely talented the guy is. While I think Xenogears is his best, my favorite is Mario Party (obviously :p) followed by Legaia 2. I've been listening to Xenosaga a lot recently as well and that's also a great soundtrack; it's a shame his music plays so rarely in the actual game. In fact, some of his best soundtracks weren't even made for video games at all, like KiRite or Explosion of the Great Comet Ison. If you've been eyeing the upcoming Stella Glow, he's composing there too.

Anyway, let's hope both Mitsuda and Kojima get more games. Maybe Mitsuda can compose for a new Kojima game?

Has it really been confirmed that Kojima is leaving? Because even if Kojima is leaving I would think he'd soon be back, since he has a tradition of teasing the end of the Metal Gear franchise yet always starts it up again. Maybe it's just me, but I think if Kojima had his way then the series would have ended with MGS4 and Kojima would have moved on to other things. Kojima is the kind of artist that loves to experiment with wild and new things and I think he's getting tired of Metal Gear. I'm also interested in whatever that guy cooks up simply because he's so creative and isn't afraid to take risks.

Your appreciation for Kojima reminds me of mine for Yasunori Mitsuda. Anything that guy touches has my money and immediate attention, simply because I know I'll enjoy the game for his involvement at the very least. It really does matter so much who is behind the game and I think some people tend to forget this. Here's hoping that Kojima remains an active developer wherever he ends up, regardless of what series that might be. I'd frankly be interested in seeing an entirely new series from him, especially an off-the-wall one like Boktai.
