It's a bummer that the Dana sections are a bit of a drag because I'm a huge Ys fan and I think the rest of the game is *excellent*, maybe my second favorite in the series after Ys Seven. I love the tropical island setting, the way you build up your little castaway village over time, and I even don't mind the 'tower defense' sections where you fend off the waves of attacking monsters.

By the way, looking at the games you've rated 5-stars on here, I feel like we have pretty similar taste in games! You just need to get into the Yakuza series and then we'll really be simpatico

Yeah, I don't consider myself out of shape by any means and I'm no stranger to squats, but at the difficulty level I set, everything else is too easy except those squats which wreck me

It was surprisingly fun, enjoyed all ~40 hours of it. The highlights are all the story beats from the original, but all the other added content just felt like a bunch of filler arcs. Without getting too spoilery, you'll probably get a lot more out of the ending if you play/review the last scenes of Crisis Core. It's not a perfect game but it was definitely worth the time and I can't wait for the next part!
