Here's a really neat trick in NSMB 2 to get tons of coins. Though you'll need to beat the game first ( so you can have the gold flower in coin rush). You can do the trick in single player, but you can only get 9,999 coins at a time. So I'd suggest you do it in coin rush. It'll take a few tries to get it right though.
