Yeah, I kind of retract my statement about the "difficulty" as I had to do that mission yesterday....! You're at the water slums and get swamped by guards, ships with instant lock-on lasers, pedestrians in the way and you CANNOT go in the water (well unless you use a Dark Jak - Dark Bomb to destroy the stupid robot, then you just swim to the end like I ended up doing. Cheap, but after about 15 attempts to get anywhere I didn't care!).
I also see what you mean with the hoverboard, having also now encountered that Does not handle at all, grinding doesn't work (though you need to do it in some missions you just fall to your death) and it feels so slow to actually use it's almost pointless. Hit anything and you take damage, fall off and get the guards on you!

I was a little wary of the open-world element to RoSaGa, but after getting into the game I thought it worked quite well. As apposed to other RPGs where you get sent to Dungeon X with Level Y monsters, I liked the general monsters level with you aspect which really helped fit into the open world idea. I always like the SaGa games battle mechanics and RoSaGa was no different, glimmering techs, casting spells, comboing stuff and working on your weapons/equipment.
It is a shame most people scorn the SaGa series, simply because they offer something different and unknown to most players; they can't be bothered to learn the systems and give up after an hour or so When you start playing them they are all great RPGs!

I completely agree with everything you said:
- The city is too pointlessly big and feels like a GTA rip-off. There's not even anything to find/explore and doing so takes forever, moreso as the vehicles handle so badly you might as well walk!
- The difficulty is not that difficult per say (at the moment), but no checkpoints and some shocking camera/controls can easily lead to falling/dying, thus having to redo the ENTIRE area!
- Gunplay is appauling thus far and R&C games are definitely superior in that aspect, as well as the general gameplay elements.

Unrelated: I've seen you around the "Romaning SaGa: Minstrel Song" board on GameFAQs recently. Due to Square never releasing that game here I've only just recently gotten around to playing it (thank you emulator ). While not as awesome as Unlimited SaGa (for me at least) it's a really great game and another fantastic installment into the SaGa series! Will definitely be replaying it with other characters in the near future

No, because that would be ludicrously difficult, taking into account all the JP-only releases and re-releases. Well, not difficult, actually, as I think used copies are not all that outrageously priced, but pointless, as I'd be unable to play half of them.

Re: Atelier...well, it's sorta something I've been considering. But my interest will eventually wane, and it'll probably end up where it is now.

Technically its 3 -runs of Unlimited SaGa as I did them all with different characters on different playthroughs... but either way I'm still hardcore!
