Well, I’m finally back at college for yet another semester, but at least I won’t be going back after finals for a few months, which will certainly be pleasant. Over winter break, I snagged quite a few things, including God of War Collecti... (read more)

Dual Strike, without a doubt. Days of Ruin is serious and cool, but DS is so much more fun. Here's a few points. Style DS: Old Advance Wars charm DoR: Grimdark post-apocalyptic COs DS: 28 COs, normal integration (You 'd AW1&2, so do I need to explain?)DoR: 12 versatile but bland COs, CO must be deployed in a unit and projects a "CO Zone" around them that buffs units within it. Damage from units within the CO Zone boosts the CO meter and grows the CO Zone. CO Powers make the CO Zone global for a turn, but are otherwise mostly subtle. New Units DS: Several new units added. DoR: Complete rework of unit prices and power and several new units, including the DS ones. Several units also removed. Campaign DS: Usual AW fare, but allows selecting from a progressively larger pool of COs as you advance. No more being locked in to a crappy matchup by the game. Also allows the use of "Force skills", little buffs that are chosen to give strategic bonuses (Like +10% offense on roads, for example). DoR: No CO picking, but the campaign is finally presented in a "stage select" manner. Extra modes: DS: Ridiculous number of extra modes, like Survival, where you're restricted to a certain amount of money, turns, or time. DoR: Only Campaign and Free Battle. Battle Maps removed, all maps unlocked initially. War Room removed and integrated in to Campaign as side missions. There are plenty of other differences, of course, but the above should be enough to make a decision on. Don't get me wrong, though. Both games are fun, and I suggest that you play both of them. But play AWDS first.

People complain about MGS4 being too cutscene heavy, but I thought it was perfect. Unlike in MGS2, I never once minded the cutscenes, and they all fit perfectly into the story and found a way to wrap everything up so incredibly. Either way, glad you liked it! ![]()

popping in randomly, as im so wont to do these days, to say that, for me, Act 4 and that....final "boss battle" were by far the worst parts of MGS4 for me....maybe i should have played them in order of release. ![]()

It probably won’t be that bad now since you’re going to be extremely over leveled for the first couple of chapters so you should mow right through them. But with the medals and bios it might take awhile though…![]() Well from the short bit I played of it sort of reminds me of a cross between the .Hack series and FF XI. But if you are going in expecting a good single player game I think you are going to be disappointed since a great deal of the game is meant to be played online. (Since someone told me the game's story is only like 20 hours long but ymmv)
