That's disappointing to hear on both topics. MHP3rd isn't so bad cause we have MH3U, but about Frontier that is such a shame. That does sound pretty awful... Really want to fight all those new monsters but I guess we will just have to settle with waiting for them to release new titles in our territory that focuses on each new monster. MH4 looks really amazing, I wish that I could import but can't because of region blocking. I really hope they localize that one, which I think that they will given the success of the 3DS overseas and possible high sales of 3U.

3U is awesome and I don't mind sticking with it, there's a lot to do but I'm just wanting to experience some new areas since these have been used so much. Will just have to wait for 4! The new weapons look really awesome, I'm especially interested in the Charge Axe and Insect Staff, not to mention the new moves of existing weapons and ability to grab onto monsters and higher emphasis on actions like jumping, climbing, etc.

I've mostly been focusing on offline village quests before I go online. I do plan on doing some online with a friend tomorrow and this week, so I'll be online a lot if you ever want to join me. I will send you a message on Steam if that's the easiest way to reach you, or if i see you on Xfire or something. Would be cool to do some hunts this week.

So I was wondering, do you think it would be a good idea to import MHP3 HD ver for PS3? It seems that a lot of the monsters are already in MH3U and to top it off it would be hard to find online players unlike the Wii U. It's just I read that the game will never get localized, which is such a disappointment to me. Since your the only one I know who has it, would you say it's worth importing? It's only about $40 for the PS3 version.

Of course, I wish I could just get a godly computer and play Frontier. I can't believe how amazing the Frontier G expansion looks... There's so many monsters it puts everything else to shame.

So how is MH3U going for you? Let me know when you start doing online quests, it would be awesome to finally go hunting with you.

I'm seriously loving the Gunlance. This thing is awesome, exactly the type of weapon I enjoy using. I always felt the Lance needed a little bit of a kick, and the GL does just that. I don't think I could ever go back to using a weapon that doesn't have a shield. Being able to tank a monster makes them feel a lot less intimidating cause I just block most of it's attacks.

What weapon(s) are you using? I'm gonna guess Bow, but only because that's what I remember you using on your Frontier streams. I feel like as long as we've known each other, it's pretty crazy we have never played MH together before. It will be pretty sweet when Phanir finally gets a Wii U and we can all hunt together. I can finally show you my skills! I have been working really hard on them. I know I can learn a lot from you so it would be an honor to watch you play. I miss your Frontier streams, I occasionally get on YT just to see some Frontier action. Also, MH4 looks amazing! Do you plan on importing that?

Yeah, sorry I didn't get a chance to log on. It was on my list, but between work and having friends over during their spring breaks, I've been brutally busy. Glad you got in though, and hopefully I'll see you in game sometime soon.

Yeah man, I think Rarutos was the one who got me in. I was kind of in the same boat as you were with GW2, except everyone in my guild left or went inactive while I was gone.

Anyway, sorry about missing the Steam message. I still don't see it on there, so I dunno what happened. My account's been doing some weird stuff with me being kinda partially logged in since I keep switching between my desktop and laptop, so that might've been it.

Yeah, another reason that I stopped playing HoD was because of the abuse of Soma. I have a really unique Soma with an interesting moveset. I like to use the Claimh Solais instead of the Valmanway, cause that's all you ever see online. The glitching is really annoying too, sometimes it can be hard to find a solid match. That's why it was good to play it when it first came out with friends, a lot of people on the backloggery played unique characters and it was a lot more fun than with randoms.

I know what you mean about the MH case. With the bottom part removed, it does look strange. But the thing is if you ever have it removed, the CPPXL will be attached to the bottom so you can't see the color difference. I still haven't decided if I'm gonna get the 3DS version yet but what you said about playing it in between other things while your away from home does sound cool. Also I have some local friends that would like to play but since they don't have a Wii U or 3DS, they could use my 3DS copy. At least for fun and practice, but for serious hunts I have assembled a small team of hunters so that we can play online frequently when the game comes out.

I see you got a Wii U! Congrats, I'll have to add your Nintendo Network ID. Mine is Andaryu. NintendoLand may not seem like much at first but some of the minigames have a surprising amount of depth to them. Check out some of the multiplayer ones but by yourself, such as Zelda, Pikmin and Metroid. They are actually easier without other players.

My response is incredibly late, just had a baby daughter and it's made me quite busy! I'm a very proud father of two right now, having a boy and a girl is something not every parent gets lucky with.

About the 3DS XL Monster Hunter attachment; you can actually use the Circle Pad Pro with it. The XL CPP isn't available in North America, but I heard they are going to release it when MH3U comes out. The bottom part of the XL case is actually separate from the top. I have a Kingdom Hearts case exactly the same way, but it's for the original 3DS. That game also uses the CPP, and it's the only reason I have one honestly, lol.

I'm getting MH3U day one, but for Wii U instead of 3DS. I considered getting both because of that Amazon deal of saving like $20, but quite honestly I mostly want to play the HD version as I don't leave the house much. Still have an epic MH case for my XL is cool, and I may decide on getting the portable version some day and especially want MH4 to get localized.

Shanoa is awesome in HoD! Your right in that Charlotte is grindy, but once she's fully powered she becomes all-powerful. I would like to play it with you sometime, it's been a long time though so I would really have to get back into the groove. There are a handful of characters I need to start working on, like Alucard and Julius.

Thanks for the DQ advice. Waiting for that fan translation does sound like a great deal, I may just wait for that. In the meantime, I heard the translation patch for DQV is good so I'll look into that. I have heard bad things about the Joker games, that's a shame really.

I did not know that about MH3U, I thought it would be the same as MHP3HD. That's great! Makes me look forward to it even more. Good to know you have your eye on it, I figured as much and once the game comes out I'm sure you will be able to figure stuff out a lot easier than me so it would be cool to learn from the best and actually do some hunts with you. Just lemme know how the Wii U situation goes so I can add you, I would like a MH3U bundle as well and the special edition 3DS XL would be even more awesome to have, but it's so doubtful they will ever release that overseas. About the only luck we have that's even close is this, I should probably preorder it for my future XL.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and HoD on the PSN! It is indeed designed for multiplayer. Excellent online game and I would not mind getting back to it, I was in the process of mastering all the characters last time I played it and should really finish that sometime. Who do you like using so far?

Ohh I can see how that sounded confusing. I'm not too familiar with DQ or Metal Slimes, I wasn't aware that that's how they are in DQ games. Funny how I mentioned Toko's when that's what you were talking about lol. Your not too far from me actually, I'm only just right after that part. I've been doing all the side quests as I go along too, there's so much to do in this game but it's not overwhelming at all.

Speaking of DQ... I wonder if I would really get into one of the games that features monster taming. I have never played DQV but heard extraordinary things from others and you, I may attempt to give it a try. After experiencing NnK I bet there is a handful of other DQ games that would interest me too, like maybe the DQM games. Have you played any of those before?

Also this might be kinda random but, I'm curious if your ever going to get a Wii U? The only reason I ask is because of Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate and because you have a Wii. I'm sure a Wii U isn't high on your priority list and that's totally understandable, but MH3U looks really good. I enjoyed the original MH3 but something about this enhanced versions makes me think I'll be able to really get into it, like for one finally being in HD and two having the chance to play with other backloggers. Plus the new monsters and gear looks awesome!

Metal Slime? I haven't seen a creature like that yet, where did you encounter it? I know that later on you encounter gold creatures somewhere, I bet I'm coming right up on that so I'll probably see what your talking about soon enough. I'm sure you know of this but just in case I'll share with you, right outside of Perdida you can encounter a rare enemy called Tokotoko. These things give you about 9K EXP a piece! That's more than most bosses. I got like tons of levels for the main characters just by fighting a few, it's absurd how much EXP you get from them. I'm trying to tame one so my EXP gain is through the roof, it's really helpful for monster raising though but I'm not gonna get too OP. I imagine leveling that Metal Slime-like creature there wouldn't take nearly as long.

Return from the grave, indeed! It's been a while, hasn't it?

I totally agree. NnK is easily one of the best games of this entire gen I think. I feel like we haven't gotten an RPG of this caliber in a really long time! It was well worth the wait, I was expecting it to be great but had no idea how it would be this perfect. I really don't have a single complaint about it thus far.... Makes me wish I would have been able to get the Wizard's Edition.
