☆★★★★ OSRS started off as a relaunch of the old RuneScape from a backup made in 2007, and while it was a huge success, it also kind of misses the point of what it was trying to achieve in the first place. This is more of a game for people who prefer pushing the old mechanics to their limits, than those who want to get back into it for the nostalgia. I respect what Jagex did here, but don't sign up for this expecting to relive the glory days. Ironman is the way to play. Fuck the GE.

★★★★★ Pretty much the granddaddy of modern weeb gacha games, GBF is a sorta mobile game that's actually a browser game. Mechanically, there's quite a bit of depth to it, and if you can get past the gacha aspect, it's pretty much the closest thing there is to classic Final Fantasy in the modern era and was even directed by some of the OGs of FF. Huge cast of likeable characters and a shit ton of free content honestly outweighs the gacha stuff for me, and there's always something new to do here.

☆★★★★ Originally called Dragonica, this is an MMO game with a focus on fast-paced beat-em-up gameplay and heavy emphasis on co-op. With 10 unique classes, it caters to a good variety of playstyles and, despite the chibi aesthetic, it's tough as nails. I like that this game tried to break away from the stagnant Tank/Healer/DPS model most MMOs stick to, and it makes for a generally fun experience as long as you can drag a few friends along for the ride. Also yay for being free without being p2w.

Thank you! I always felt alone in that, Blighttown is great and one of the only really challenging Ds1 areas still to this day, platinum trophy or not, that area still kicks my ass and I love it. This... um, yeah sadly not on the same page as you haha, that is indeed THE hot take. I love the first portion of Ds1, everything after Anor Londo is a mess, like, a Dark Souls 2 level mess. Do not get me wrong, I love Ds2, but the thing is that Ds2 is so inconsistent in the level design that it loops around to being consistent, it produced some of the most beautiful and unique levels in all Souls games, but Ds1 jumped from small-scale town>sewer>swamp/forest ares to small empty levels, like the Tomb of the Giants. I do not have the problem most people have with it, most people hate the lack of light, that is not my problem however, it is that the whole area is TWO SMALL "ROOMS", the light source makes this area a joke, you can run through it in a matter of seconds and not fight a single enemy, such a joke of a level...don't make me even start on Lost Isalith or New Londo, those two are also empty and devoid of any creativity, you can see that it was rushed as hell. I do however agree completely with you that Ds1 took a major nosedive with level design if we compare it to DeS, that game had an amazing level design that made sense and kept evolving with the challenge, such underrated feature of the game.

Don't disrespect my man like that, people prepared me for hell, like, Bed of Chaos 2 or something, but it was really not that bad, even his arcane bs attack was not all that hard to dodge lol

Yeah, I can imagine, even in 2021 there were a bunch of people in Sen's Fortress and Darkroot Garden that gave me trouble, there was a guy with a Moonlight Greatsword who kept invading me there, one-shooting me with that slice-magic wave attack, probably level 999 as well. Backstab attacks really are over-powered once you figure it out, I remember only using it in Blighttown, while I am one of those weird people who enjoy Blighttown, there are few enemies that I love backstabbing there, especially those giant barbarian ladies that shout at you.

I heard that the original game was an ass of a port, but apperently that changed since the PCs are now much stronger, so the game apparently runs perfectly fine with a modern setup, which sounds great. Still, I already own both original and remaster so I doubt I will buy an original PC port.

That sounds amazing! That is an idea that I never thought about before, but it would be pretty cool to play those games with someone, there was this one time my friends came over to my place and we played Souls games, and every time someone died, it would be the other persons turn to play, we did a deprived run where you can only use an unapgraded club, it was super fun. I did have a run-in with some people, especially in Ds1 on Ps3, people there are surprisingly active, and gave me a lot of trouble, just spamming OP spells, teleporting, and backstabbing, but I also had a few people who were definitely the first time players try to invade me and then demolishing them, also this one guy who saw my low-level character and threw the "I am sorry" carving and then helping me through the entire Sens Fortress, it was beautiful. Yeah, I feel you on that one, I played Ds1 offline when I first played, at least for the first half, and felt much more confident after beating Quelaag, but I was not invaded that many times, on which console did you play? If it was Ps4 then I can totally understand why...

No way! That is also one of my favorite Pokemon, but my number one will always be Misdreavus! I don't know about you, but since Misdreavus is always in one version of the game (Murkrow being in the other) I always have to pick the game that has it, that's why as much as I would like to play Platinum, I will always go with Pearl because it has my favorite Pokemon! Fortunately, Mantine is much more accessible, or if not Mantine then its previous evolution.

That is really handy, that PS+ , I, on the other hand, do not intend to pay for it, seems like the cons outweigh the pros of it, since I don't play multiplayer games and also I can't get invaded, AND do not like using summons for bosses, so it is a win-win situation. Hope you return to the game, it is wonderful! I heard about Laurence and his superpower of making people rage-quit consistently, hopefully, it will not be the same for me, but that remains to be seen, Lady Maria is currently kicking my ass and I am loving every second of it, it is such a good fight!

Oh, don't worry about it, just happy that I reminded you to do it! Holy Moly man, collected all Pokemons of that region right? From my limited Pokemon knowledge, you can't collect older Pokemons and complete the dex, to be fair that would be ridiculous, there are now over 1000 of those bastards! Never played WoW, but did hear only good things, but as I said before multiplayer is not really my thing, I kinda play games to run away from people, not to socialize...

Hmmm, the way you described that made me immediately think of DMCs combat, you know, how you can use two weapons and use their combos to then make entirely new combos by shifting them, soun really fun! I recently used the fortune cookies function here to draw random games to play, I am not really in a video game mood so I don't feel hyped for any of them and because of that I drew out random games to play, CV is sitting in 7th place, so I might play it as soon as next month, better than games that sit in 40th+ place lol.

Thank you! I heard nothing but good things, and also that the character creation is insanely detailed, so I think I will be doing some experimenting, by the way, I also did not know that it was a souls-like game until quite recently. My friend and I have been doing some tier lists of Souls games that we played thus far and I was surprised to see Code Vein there, I just thought that it was a hack-and-slash like in the style of Devil May Cry, but now I am even more excited to play it!

I was thinking of recreating my oc, but since I have been drawing her less anime-like and more realistic, I think I am going for a different approach, this is gonna be fun!

Oh absolutely, the crown is so good-looking! I didn't mind any of the bosses run ups, they were all pretty easy if you ask me, the smelter demon one can be rushed through with not too much problem and the one with sir Alonne is slightly harder because the enemies follow you everywhere unlike the ones in the blue smelter demon passage just because they rarely jump down to follow you. Thankfully I explored most of the Brume tower before fighting any of the bosses so dealing with Fume knight's effigies wasn't a problem at all, probably also because I didn't even have a clue where the bosses are lol.

Man, you are a physical manifestation of the phrase "Going through the wall with only your head" haha, that's one of those things, fighting a boss with a weapon/s that is/are the very thing that he is not weak against but you kill him with it just in spite, also very impressive! No friking way, that sounds amazing, both just a normal pursuer? Does that insinuate that there are multiple pursuers in the lore perhaps?

That is what I expected actually, there are so many little unique things about Ds2 and I love it for that, while I do believe that Ds1 is objectively a superior game, I also do love Ds2 more, there are just so many aspects, like the improved ng+ experience that makes it stand out in a positive way!

That is precisely why I didn't hate that area, for every run to the smelter demon fog gate I would have enough souls for a level-up, so I also did not mind just killing all the enemies 12 times just to save myself from trouble, and also I agree with you completely, now that I played the DLCs I would say that sir Alonne is easily my favorite and Darklurker (who I still haven0t killed) is my favorite boss, but smelter is second best for sure!

You are right there, but it is great for NG+ and killing bosses after buffing up the bonfires, also it was my second DLC area, so if you leave the DLCs for the last content before finishing the game you can get a lot of use for it, but then again, the rapier is much faster, so for some people, one weapon will be better than the other, specifically for Darklurker the sword is better because of the swing attack it has, it simply covers more area and is better for attacking both Darklurkers after the split has happened. I also agree on how good the NG+ is, I used the bonfire ascetic to finish Benhart's quest and was not expecting giant boars to replace small pigs in Brightstone Cove Tseldora lol, I can't wait to play my first NG+ some day!

Oh you are absolutely right about that one, both DS1 and DS2 were so much better with the 60fps when it comes to the combat, there are numerous boss fights in both games where the fight is significantly harder because of the framerate, fights like the Rotten and Bellfry Gargoyles were so much easier due to the better framerate in the scholar, also it was so good to play with all the graphics on high and 60fps, as someone who recently bought a new laptop it was a sight to behold!

My God, you are right, I flew through that area in the original version, and I got gangbanged so hard by those headless guys this time around haha, it was a pain for sure, still it is such a short area that I did not mind that much, unlike Iron Keep I can breeze through there, but the Iron Keep made me kill everything in there until they stopped spawning, those two archers at the smelter demon fog gate can go ahead and jump in the lava 12 times for all I care, they would be making me a favor lol.

"Thankfully Frigid Outskirts is an unimportant area with mostly unremarkable rewards...", my brother in Christ, as a dex build that Loyce Greatsword is a gift from the God! If I knew that you get such a good weapon there I would have gone there sooner!

Yeah, life do be like that sometimes...

As for SotFS, it was fantastic! I thought the enemy placement would be bad, or at least worse than in the original game, but it was much better, the placement made more sense this time around, like, you know, Heide knights actually be in Heide Tower lol, they also nerfed more areas than they buffed, sure, Shrine of Amana and Iron Keep are harder, but not that much, rest of the areas are so much more pleasant, especially the Dragon Shrine my God is that area a pain in the original with million Dragon knights attacking you. The DLCs were also great, varying in quality, but overall great, best example is the crown of Ivory King, that DLC is both amazing and awful at the same time, bosses and areas range from bad to great, and by bad I mean terrible, because the Frigid Outskirts is terrible lol.

I am not done with it yet, I still need to collect all sorceries, miracles, hexes, and pyromancies, which is going to give me at least 50 more hours haha, but I love the game way too much to give up on that task!

Ah, I see.

I just never got a gamecube back then so...that's when I entered the dark ages, where I was a closeted edgey early teen who was a halo kid on xbox.
Couldn't have played later mario parties then, and then wii came out and well...idk, I wanted a 360 more. Good thing, I bought way more good games there, and I have a wii u to catch up now.

I actually once got upset at how many sequels mario party had, some years before call of duty's sequelitis started.
