Man it seems like there's a lot more exposition in this one. Also the combat seems harder? Maybe I'm being too hasty.

I actually thoroughly enjoyed DK64, but I also played it back in its hayday and I didn't have many games to play back then, so the collectathon aspect didn't bother me much.

I was surely cussing like a sailor while fighting Brachyura in OoE! It's very possible that my hands were trembling and heart pounding when I finally beat it too.

I'm even more tempted to start it up again, but Strange Journey... The cartridge finally creeped it's way into my portable 3DS sleeve. How far into the game was that boss? Starting it from scratch would probably be for the best. There's just no desire to fight Brachyura again since I no longer remember how I did it the last time.

Oh man, that's really too bad. I've never been able to stay interested in games that take that direction, like the ones on Facebook and the like. It's a complete gaming turn-off for me and why I don't even bother looking into games for my Android tablet. Oh well, not like I need yet another game on the list.

I've come pretty close to slipping Order of Ecclesia into my 3DS sleeve, just so I see it at least twice a day. Maybe the urge to play will strike at random? The furthest I made it was after that spider (or crab?) boss, the one you fought while vertically platforming. I think the experience was so traumatic, it killed my desire to continue playing...

Haven't read your review yet. Not much time has been spent on the PC lately. So I also apologize for taking so long to reply.

Too bad the classic plants are rare, unless you want to buy them. I'm curious about the new plants, especially if they're all new. I don't really remember the mini-games and never attempted the zen garden from the first game.

The stars sound like a hassle to me, sadly. I had no desire to replay levels in the first game. The variety of plants and zombies throughout the game were enough to keep me interested in playing to the end, but after that it really was the end for me. I ended up giving it away to a friend after I beat it because I was certain I'd never play it again.

So I'm guessing I should probably steer away from the sequel, if it makes it beyond the iOS platform. Oh well. Maybe if there's some sort of deal? It was the zombie figurine that caught my eye when I randomly came across the PC version for cheap. Thanks for sharing so much information on it!

RE: Mirror of Fate. That is exactly how it crept it's way onto my BL - the demo. I was going to hold off for a used copy, if I had nothing else above it on the wishlist (there were already so many Castlevania titles on my shelf, still are). It was so pretty too...

I've never played, or seen, Lords of Shadow. If my memory is correct, I remember that one getting a lot of grief too (just like MoF). Strangely, I've always enjoyed the ones that get a lot of guff - :cough: the ones on 64 :cough: for being different.

I should get on Order of Ecclesia (or however it's spelled).

Oh yeah - P.S.
Nearly six months? Haha. I find that humorous for some reason... Maybe because I'm always playing the unbeatable, "comment catch-up" game?

So far, I like Mirror of Fate! The negative comments and opinions it's received so far are a bit baffling to me. I haven't been able to recognize a slow frame-rate or lag yet. The only thing I don't really like about it is the loading times, though that's a minor thing that I can deal with.

It's surely gorgeous and I'm enjoying the music. If only I didn't get stuck on that boss, I'd probably still be playing instead of allowing EO IV to pull me away. I'm probably only an hour, or so, into the game.

Are iOS games for i-devices only? What would you call games played on an Android device? I would totally consider getting Bastion on my Android tablet, if able!

Beating a long-dead horse here, but I apologize for taking so long to reply (again). I'm assuming anyone that converses with me on here has become used to that by now. Or at least I hope that they are... I graduate in May, so hopefully I'll have more free time afterwards.

My note has been fixed! Charging my Micro now so it's ready for the car drive to leagues tomorrow. I will try to pick up some of those souls you mentioned.

It's okay. I do that all the time, notice that someone's commented and put off replying. Then actually do so much later than I had originally planned. Trying to reply from the bottom up assists in late replies also.

I made a note of those enemies to farm for their souls. I'm using Wooden Golem for the mana regen, since I tend to like the souls that cost a lot of mana. Especially when using Death's soul, since it's "passive" (if you can call it that).

Still haven't been able to get the Succubus' soul yet, I can't remember if I have the Fire Demon's or not yet. There's a chance that I do. I certainly have the bat, it's one of the first souls I received.

Lately, I've been neglecting the game though.

Ahh, I can't remember! It's been a while since I've played. Last I did, I had to change them around to be able to walk on water... So I have that Undine (to walk on water), then w/e one allows you to "drift" while jumping, and I forgot what the other one is.

For combat, I like that Une one. The one that plants a seed in the ground, then it sprouts upwards to do damage when something walks over it. It's been so useful that I haven't even experimented with many of the others that I've collected so far.

It's a really fun game! Usually play it while in the car, which is why it's been so long since I've played. I've been doing all of the driving, lately.

You were graduating this winter, right? How's that coming along for you? I apologize for my dull memory...

I understand those feelings completely. In the back of my head, I'm always thinking that I should be fine-tuning my resume. Or, practicing some of the stuff I learned to further enhance my skill (or keep it fresh in my mind). Instead, I've chosen to play games, enjoy the summer and do things outside, etc..

Bah, I need the structure of classes back in my life to keep me focused!

That sounds like a decent plan. I've actually been tempted to become an I.T. professor/teacher, since developing such an addiction of taking classes. Fell in love with being back in the school environment. I feel so empty and meaningless w/o any classes this summer.

Wow, that upcoming Media class you have sounds pretty interesting. Bonus that you've already read the book! I may have asked you before, I can't remember, but what exactly do you plan to do with your degree?

Ah man, Winter of 2012 sounds so much better than Spring of 2013! I feel so bewildered by not going to class this summer. It's strange and annoying. Like constantly feeling like you're forgetting something important...

Ah, that would make sense then. I've only played New Super Mario Bros. for the DS out of the new ones. Before that, the most recent one I played was Super Mario World on the SNES. So there were quite a few new things for me to experience.

It makes me happy to see the switch/drawbridge concept brought back in the final castles! Made me feel sentimental (and old). Even though it does make it a bit easier. I did die a few times attempting to use the post-hit invincibility trick, surprisingly.

I also died quite a few times from having the 3D on while trying to jump to another platform. Instead, I missed and fell to my death. Eventually, I just turned the 3D off. It just wasn't helpful to my game progress.

The fifth castle of the special, post-content worlds... I just beat it a few weeks ago and I already can no longer remember which one it was. Haven't played it since then.

So you're starting the summer semester in a couple days then? Not sure what's wrong with my brain at the moment, having trouble making sense of that first sentence. What classes will you be taking?

My summer classes were dropped, thanks to my math class being cancelled due to lack of students. I'm now graduating in Spring '13, instead of Fall '12...

Also I was referring to how close your health bar is to your item hotbar. I play on 600x800 and I don't think mine are that close together >_>

No, I mean, I'm literally building every single part of my house out of glass. My NPC housing, my bedroom, my storage facilities designed to hold 60 chests, my completely oversized crafting center that mirrors the storage stack for the sake of symmetry, even my garden is made of glass. Every single block I've placed is glass, and it will use nothing but glass backwalls.

I've used at least fifteen stacks of sand by now and I haven't even started building my bedroom, or placed any backwalls.

I'll give you a screenshot when it's finished lolol

edit: wtf why is your resolution so small

Heyyy! Haven't seen you around in a while... How have you been? Has summer break been treating you well?

Curious, are you not liking SMB3DL? I'm finding the post-game content to be far more enjoyable. More than likely because of the increase in difficulty and freedom to die as many times as necessary to get those darned coins!

It was recently squashed from my NP list by EO II.
