Minion of Bak'laag: 100+ unfinished games
I was just rewatching my favorite anime and realized it came out more than 15 years ago (;w I feel like 10, 20, and 30 are the major milestones I think about for games, probably since a lot of my favorite games are DS/GameCube era. Fun to celebrate anniversaries, sad to think about how old everything is getting… including me

I think I fully beat EarthBound on an emulator at some point, and then replayed it on the 3DS Virtual Console, might play it on NSO next time! If only re-experiencing your favorite media didn't take so much time ah well, makes it worth the effort, I suppose!

Feels so weird to think of these games aging with me, maybe I should play Castlevania Bloodlines finally! Been on my list for a while

Woahhh is it already EarthBound's 30th??? Crazy to think it's been that long, I didn't even play it when it very first came out but it makes me feel so old
So many games and so little time tho, hopefully we can both find the time to play the things next on our list!

I do remember enjoying New Super Mario Bros. on the DS, but it also came at a time when the medium was going through a lot of turmoil: the bloom, the brown, and everything having to be "deep" but rarely if ever achieving that. Oh, and the minigames; they were EVERYWHERE. New Super Mario Bros. came in and did almost NOTHING new - aside from turning the wall jump from a bug into a feature - and that was what I think I wanted at the time. Don't know how well it holds up for me, but I will say that I didn't find New Super Mario Bros. Wii to be fun AT ALL. My lady and I went through it together and I just stopped in the middle of one of the stages in World 7, and said, "I'm just not having fun," and I stopped right then and there.

From what you're describing, Mario Wonder sounds almost like a really ambitious rom hack of New Super Mario Bros. Like one of those that has brand new power-ups that only show up in one stage for a very specific reason. I'll probably try it out at some point, but at this point, who knows when that will be?

Thank you Valid. I find I put a ton of hours into Pokemon games, so the price tag is worth it for it.

I'm planning to wait on that one if I pick it up at all, since I still have the original, but then again, I don't even have a Switch anyway. I'll see what's different, and if there's enough to warrant buying it again.

SaGa Frontier is a tricky game that I don't know that I could recommend to just anyone, but there is a BEAUTIFUL world, and some really unusual plots and characters hiding under a brutal difficulty and really quirky (but often satisfying) mechanics. Replaying it now, I think it might be my all-time favorite RPG; I think I'm going to give it a little buffer and replay Live-A-Live to see if it still holds up.

That reminds me that I have a copy of Quake 1 & 2 that I never played. It's weird: I was definitely around when it came out and pretty heavy into Shooters at the time, but I've never played a single Quake game.
