A lousy port of the Apple/PC classic. But making the maps is fun.

Fun galactic trading game from 1984. I hated it 1st time I played it.

Yes indeed, just making lists now, bestiary, items, weapons etc. Got two more maps ready to post after I check the details again on my second game, but yeah, a cheat would help a LOT for that purpose. Like, NO ENCOUNTERS! Otherwise, this time I'm gonna level up like mad and get lots of cash for healing items.

You're wise not playing Shinsenden. Hardest RPG I've even played, apart from that Mirai Shinwa Jarvas thingy that Sash can confirm was beyond brutal, and well nigh impossible

After fighting endless tough battles with only two allies, defeating boss, and you finally get a third ally and think things might get slightly easier, you're sent off into MORE dungeon with MORE brutal enemies, without a chance to heal, save, shop, or given anything at all to help. Kind of enjoying it though, in a totally masochistic way.

KQ8 is, I guess, serviceable being what it is, although certainly not king in its genre. However, it is so out of place in the series, does not star Daventry royalty, and insisted on going back to overdone Olde English - voice acted. It is tough to swallow all in all. Compared to that, KQ7 felt much more like a real King's Quest in spite of the vastly different style of graphics; the chance to take on the role of Valanice alone made me quite forgiving, and Rosella makes a worthwhile enough comeback as well. But I can see how it doesn't mesh as well with everyone as it did with me.

I might beat you to it! At least, if I can get through this tower without dying too many times. One weird thing is that when your HP is really low your defense is higher and enemy attacks do a lot less damage.
