Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collections 1&2
I cannot get over how perfect this collection is, barring the new font. This is undeniably the definitive way to experience the Battle Network games!

★★★★★ I adore how many amazing new ways to play these games are available here! The mod cards for 4, 5, and 6 being made available to non-japanese audiences after nearly 20 years alone make this worth getting, not to mention the fully restored postgame for BN6! I have been given the chance to fall in love with these games all over again and then some, I really can't recommend it enough! Capcom even gave us online PVP! I can't believe how much Capcom made sure we had with this, thank you so much!!!

Man, the postgame feels so much more interesting now that it's been fully restored. There's so much more to do and explore!

Holding off on rating this until I go and complete the postgame, as there's still a decent amount of uncharted territory for me to explore currently.

A charming game held back by too many rough edges to be worth recommending. Shoutouts to interordi.com/mega_man_pc/ for all the maps!

☆☆☆★★ I appreciate how straightforward and brisk the story scenarios are in this game, there's no lulls in pacing, everything just goes from one story beat and dungeon to another. The internet is still a nightmare labyrinth, but you spend way less time on it than I recalled. Internet 2 is the worst map in the series, though, and you do have to go through there for story. The Power Plant is also every bit as awful as people say it is. It filtered me every time I tried to beat this game in the past.

I'd recommend playing in short bursts when you head back. Early levels you can blaze through but some levels take a while. It can be frustrating when pushed through too fast. Future is definitely much easier to get into with the easier controls, removal of time limits, additional polish, and variety of missions. It's also possible to emulate nowadays which is also great. It's the biggest reason I decided to head back, alongside Bombrush Cyberfunk releasing sometime this or next year. Thank you. I hope you enjoy the wild ride of killer7 too!

I would because I was one of those people that dropped the game back in 2016 because of the tutorial and I recently looked through those guides lol. Even with a guide showing you how to get to 50 tricks to beat it, it's still tough since you have to be really precise. I skipped the tutorial and I'm a good ways through now and yeah, the tutorial is barely needed to actually enjoy the game. The game is still tough but that's less so not knowing how to play and more so grappling with the game's unique momentum and physics. The style and music is amazing tho.

I honestly wasn't planning on picking it up but the stars aligned for this one. I happened to see GM's tweet about the game hours before the shutdown ( [Link] ), noticed NMH and Awakening's character designer (Yusuke Kozaki) did art for it, had $8 left after buying the discounted AA games, and was interested in a Level-5 and GM collab title. I'm glad to hear that it's a really cool game tho! I'm always a sucker for hidden gems and games with good OSTs

Hey buddy, by chance I logged in my old Backloggery account and saw your comment there two weeks ago. Sorry, I'm on this account now, to be more in lieu with my YouTube channel. It's a lot of work to migrate everything manually from my old Backloggery account, and I haven't gotten around doing it yet, but I will tackle it one of these days. I wish they would just allow username change, it woulda been a lot easier!

I'm happy to hear you checked my channel out, thank you! I have uploaded a Castlevania longplay recently and really upped the ante on the production and work involved, especially editing, and more options, I got full screen captured offered too.

Yes, CRTs are great, and think about it, you are seeing them through a flat panel display still, and in person, wow! Yesterday I was playing Tenchu (my next video) on the PS1 while simultaneously outputting it to both CRT and flat panel with a scaler and wow, it's night and day, hard to go back to the flat panel afterwards! I hope you've been doing alright, keep in touch through this account from now on, please. Thanks, bud.

Megaman 1’s score system pisses me off, because there is zero point to it. Same with like 80% of NES games with score mechanics. Some might give 1ups, but the rest are completely useless and only exist as a holdover from the Atari 2600. I suppose some day I might try 3 or 4, but I’m not in any real rush to either. 2 was okay, but I had to abuse Rewind for the yoku blocks, they seem miserable to do normally. I’m also not a fan of old NES slowdown and flashing. I don’t have epilepsy, but the flashing is just unpleasant to look at. One of the games on the Astro City Mini was pretty bad about this, Arabian Fight.

I’m not a huge fan of card games, like even the Pokemon TCG is kind of frustrating (the cheating AI on coin flips doesn’t help). I have uh…I think it’s called Card Fighters Clash on Neo Geo Pocket, which I just got because I love the NGPC, and it has Capcom characters. Wouldn’t mind getting into that. I think the main things that looked annoying in Battle Network 1 was the dungeons. Long winding hallways. Easy to get lost. They looked pretty miserable.

Hm. I’ll have to watch some gameplay of Battle Network 6 Gregar, then.

My Saturn’s laser may be dying. In Grandia, it’s loaded to black screens twice in battles. I have a new one coming around the time Ishin gets here, but I think if that one’s laser gives me trouble in the next year or so, I’m getting a Terraonion MODE. I’d need to take a look inside the new Saturn anyway to get what I need to order the right MODE.

I also got Sonic Frontiers half off with Amazon Xmas money. Need to figure out where I want to output the audio, because I'm told the music is good, and current stream audio is another pair of headphones. Maybe I'll have it on speakers. That shouldn't have anything bleeding into other stuff...I think. I would just not be able to use my microphone when I do that, but it may be the best option. The other is to just record it and then play it back later, but...ehhh.

Well, I posted 6 more to Twitter, though for those I did custom order the artwork. I could have easily found it myself, but I couldn’t find that specific game art anywhere. Fitting them into the longboxes I did. I actually am thinking about stacking the Grandia discs on top of each other like what they do for the multidisc 360 games, like Blue Dragon. There’s more translations in the pipeline that I want for the Saturn, like Grandia Museum and SMT Soul Hackers. I think currently I have like 3 or 4 more blank longboxes, which if I decide to try the Shining Force 3 games, I’d need more, probably.

I probably won’t find out if they do, because not only do I hate the two versions excuse to sell the same game twice, catching and raising pokemon when maybe a few dozen are actually useful and the rest just are not good, but I’ve heard about the framerate and bugs, and I do not want to play that. Gen 4, I used to like, but I think it would annoy me to play now. I’d play those over Gen 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 in a heartbeat, though.

I suppose, but I’d just rather have a weapon that doesn’t break or I even have to repair than one that breaks completely and then it’s gone. Like, Diablo 2 requires you to repair your gear, which isn’t bad, even if I’d prefer a game where I didn’t have to worry about that. Diablo 1 however has that “once it breaks, it’s gone unless you repair it first”, meaning that if you’re using the same weapon in the middle of a dungeon and don’t notice that it’s low on durability, it’s just gone. I’d take Diablo 2’s style of things over that in an instant. But most of the older RPGs I’ve played simply give you a weapon and it just never degrades. That’d be ideal, probably.

Super Bomberman R’s definitely a solid game, at least I had fun with the story. Bomberman, but not ass hard like most of the older ones. I’m looking forward to Super Bomberman R 2, at least the main story mode. I might try going through Saturn Bomberman with my cousin again. Think I left off near the end, it was one of those levels we had to beat 4 maps for the stage to end or something. Think it only saves on the internal RAM, so I might wait until I get my new F RAM Saturn, so that I don’t have to worry about the battery dying on that. I can probably copy it to my save cart for more reliable saving if my internal battery dies before I get it. I might already have it on there.

I think there are for both, yes, but I never need to use those. They have spoiler logs, which I very rarely have to rely on. Most of the time, I’m good to find everything from memory. OoT, LADX, Super Mario RPG, LttP are the main ones that I’m comfortable without spoiler logs. Well, SMRPG doesn’t have spoiler logs. Maybe. I think in order of comfortable to least…LttP>LADX>OoT>Aria of Sorrow>Banjo Kazooie (only this low because I tried a preset that randomizes everything, so I had to check egg/feather locations for possibly Jiggies). I suppose Mario RPG may be the same as those, but I never have any trouble with those, in fact, maybe LESS. Pokemon Crystal basically lets you randomize all the items, pokemon, and moves/types.

Skyward Sword HD is a maybe buy some day. I’m not big at all on the Switch, but I do hope that the Kirby remake is good, since my Wii and Wii U are in storage. For Switch games now, I do want to try Bayonetta 3, continue Shin Megami Tensei V, and maybe do Rookie mode in Metroid Dread, which is alright, but I HATE the EMMIs. I am not sure if I will ever play Tears of the Kingdom, because I did not like Breath of the Wild at all. Too open, feels like most things don’t matter, dumb fetch quests, hard to get money (a Zelda game sin), frustrating puzzles, nevermind the weapon durability shit.

Hmm, Xtreme 2 does sound rather poor; I have very little patience for padding in games. ...But it could make for an interesting writing topic. Well, I'll mull it over. Thanks again for the valuable insight, friend.
Just wanted to say thank you for still being here. More people are rooting for you than you realize.
