i've been hearing so much good about ghost trick, it's nice to see the phoenix wright writing team doing something new and apparently succeeding. i think i'll pick it up!

any thoughts on ghost trick? it might turn out to be the first new ds game i buy in a long while.

congrats on clearing shiren ds! i still haven't managed to survive the three trials. the one time i made it to the top i was summarily murdered by those tiger monsters chain-throwing me onto stumble traps that broke all my jars. :

It's a character from Lucky Star (the one in my icon/avatar)... However, my crush (who happens to love LBP) reminds me a lot of said character.

I'm not so familiar with the regular Mystery Dungeon series, but PMD, from what I've Google'd, is almost the same. When you die (or faint in Pokemon), you lose your items and your money, but you can send out an S.O.S. call.

i'm conflicted. i do love the aesthetic and i am a huge fan of big explore-y non games like aquanaut's holiday and such. but the combination of gigantic areas that make it hard to remember how to get somewhere, the roadblocks encountered by not having certain effects and the apparently percentage-based chance of encountering some things... i dunno, makes things kind of a pain in the ass. i expect i will find lsd to be a better game (if i ever get my hands on a copy) since the randomness means there *isn't* a way to get back to any specific location, leaving the weirdness as the only point.

Is Days of Ruin any good? They have it for $5.17 or something at my Fry's Electronics, and I've been going back and forth on whether or not to get it.

Yeah, Advance Wars is pretty awesome. I first played AW2 when it came out and I loved it and AW:DS at release date also, but never got around to the first one. It's almost like going back to the basics after all this new units and dual strike mumbo jumbo! I also hung around a nice Advance Wars board for awhile called Advance Wars Bunker.

And speaking of amazing GBA games, I noticed you added Astro Boy! That game is amazing!

yeah, there are a few of us, but nobody seems very talkative. it's an odd interest, i suppose.

thanks for the compliment; there's a lot of fds games for pretty cheap on ebay, but some of that stuff i've just had to get on yahoo japan. i'm currently trying to hunt down some of the writer station exclusives - talk about a pain in the butt to find.

hey, i have a spare case, manual and extras for doki doki panic sitting around from a bad purchase, so if you ever find an incomplete copy i can pass it along and be rid of it. :P
