I enjoyed it a lot! I didn't like the last generation of Fire Emblem games very much so I was pleasantly surprised by how I liked Three Houses, the characters I got to know were all very interesting and the game was challenging to play without being too obnoxiously difficult (I appreciated that they've added in options to turn off permadeath and such as well for people who don't want to deal with that).

I want to check out the DLC some day, but also didn't have the energy to do two more playthroughs to see the other two routes so I'm not sure how eager I am to try a new playthrough any time soon. I was kind of disappointed to find out some plot stuff was locked behind the other routes though.

BL had lots of very sweet cast members though, I loved Ashe and Dedue the most I think!

Which route(s) did/have you done?

My sister has provided me with the stuff needed for a layout change, so hopefully this shan't be a problem for much longer.

And, nah. As long as you're having fun with FFX, what does it matter what anyone else thinks. (Especially me, since I am a prat 99% of the time.) I do get nostalgic for it - even the Evrae battle, actually. I just haven't worked up the nerve to give it another shot yet. Also there is the matter of excavating my PS2...

To be honest, the Citadel is killing a lot of my interest in the game. I just picked up Tali, so I'm only slightly behind where you are. Even though there are shiny new characters, the size/annoyance of the Citadel is just making me very meh about the game right now. Not sure if the fact that I'm coming off of Dragon Age II, which I LOVED, has something to do with it as well - so far I have yet to find the shining thing that will capture my attention span.

Thanks for the heads-up about the comment box. I'm... not really sure why it's doing that since it's the normal white background for me. I'm running firefox; not sure if that's the problem? (However I probably will be changing my layout soon, so I hope that takes care of the whole mess entirely.)

Oh, FFX. Every time I get nostalgic for it, I remember things like Evrae and Tidus' near-constant prattling.

It seems to me that every FF is a new attempt at "reinventing" the franchise... when it really didn't need reinventing in the first place.

I am in 100% agreement on this. The problem with constantly reinventing yourself is that you can only come up with something new/original only so many times.

And when most of the focus is being put on one aspect of the game - i.e., whatever gimmick is new in each game - (whether that be battle system or characters or story or level-ups, etc), the game as a whole suffers for it. As with everything in life, there must be balance.

For the record, I am no fan of Squall either. But I have issues with VIII as a whole. In the five times that I have attempted to play through the game, I have only ever gotten as far as disc three before I could no longer restrain the urge to throw my controller down in disgust and abandon the whole endeavor. I attribute this mostly to my being a finicky gamer.

VI and XII are my favorites of the series. IV, V, and IX get a good amount of respect from me for being the games that they are. I usually group X and VII together because they were both solid games, but issues with the characters leave a bad taste in my mouth (also, superbosses, ugh). I've never played II or III. I have played the original Final Fantasy, but I sucked mightily at it. And of course, VIII is rather much dead to me. Because I suck. XD
