I sure wish I were 11 again, haha. Thanks! Happy Holidays to you, as well.

I noticed you added those Fairly OddParents games. I didn't know those were a thing back then, but I remember playing the SpongeBob games on PS2 quite a bit as a kid. Battle For Bikini Bottom was great, and I had the Movie game, too.

Glad to see you back! With school starting and classes taking up so much time, I've found myself with less and less time for games myself but I know how you feel about the drive to play games! I have that myself quite regularly, and I just need to take some breaks some weeks. Hope you find your drive again when a game piques your interest, and it's great to see you back on here!

It's great to have you back on the site after your hiatus! Things must have been a little hectic on your end with all the preparations you'd been doing, so no worries. I had a rather nice Summer overall myself, and hopefully it was the same for you as well. Whenever you have the free time, and motivation too of course, to pick up any particular game in the future, that it'll be something that brings you a lot of enjoyment.
Again, nice to have you back!

Glad to see you're still around on here! You were in my thoughts not too long ago. I've had gaming droughts myself, (basically all of 2019/2020) so I've been there. Take the time you need, and by the time you pick up a game that finally hooks you it'll be worth the wait. Hope you had a good summer, as well.

(repost bc i messed up) Hi again everyone! Sorry for this large inactivity period, I hope yall had wonderful summers. Admittedly, I've become a bit desensitized from gaming in general and definitely don't have the drive or time to play games but I'm still gonna be here to chat with anyone and update the few games I do play. ^^

Hi! I'm sorry for the super late reply, I didn't visit backloggery since my last update (a month ago IIRC).
Btw, thank you too for adding me back
Answering more directly to your question... I really liked your page at a first glance (there's a really peaceful mood right here!) and there's a lot of Nintendo stuff, so I instantly understood that you're definitely to follow
Hope that you're doing fine!

Best of luck with your college preparations! Hoping all goes well with everything you have planned, and that you find plenty of opportunities to have fun/relax during your time off the site. Likewise I hope your Summer is a great one! See you again soon! ^_^

Taking a break from this site through June-August to focus on college preparations, vacations and other miscellaneous stuff and so I won't have any time to update the games I play or interact with anyone. I hope you all get to play and finish the games you want to and I wish you all a wonderful summer

Congrats on Crowned Reprised! …But there's worse to come *suffers war flashbacks*

Dream Collection is an absolute must. It's a great way to play the games officially, and yes, play the games in order (MAYBE consider playing Dream Land 3 before Super Star)

Don't take this the wrong way, but the emulation talk is the sound of sweet innocence. "I was like you once..." I used to be dead set on the idea of owning every game I want officially, but as digital stores are going down, as physical games only keep getting more expensive, and even as old consoles slowly wither away, I've been turning closer and closer to repro copies and outright emulation. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of consoles I'd like to keep trying to collect for properly (PS2 namely), but I've already decided to just emulate Nintendo from NES to N64 and GB to GBA, if not DS, PS1 (mostly) and PSP, all of Sega, all of Atari, and a bunch of miscellaneous consoles. If you know you want to own all of your games for real, go for it, but let me tell you, the sooner you reconsider, the easier. At the end of the day, it's your choice.

What can I say? One of my only rock solid goals with gaming is to every last Kirby game, and I am dedicated. Now if only I can work up the strength to do Star Allies . Also yes, I've said it so many times on this website, but Air Ride is actually painful. One of the worst experiences I've yet suffered through.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been busy. It looks like I'm just barely too late to give a recommendation but I'll do it anyway just in case.

Any genre and almost any console, eh? If you'll allow PC, one of my all-time favourite games in general is Doom, which I'm sure needs no introduction. It's the Super Mario Bros. of the PC, ubiquitous and timeless.
You can of course get Doom on every console under the sun but I'll always recommend the real thing when possible, especially for first person shooters. They're just easier to control and more enjoyable with a keyboard and mouse, plus the infinite mods and fan-made campaigns out there.

For consoles, I think my favourite side-scrolling action series is Rockman/Mega Man. You can get most of the main series in the Mega Man Legacy Collections, which are on multiple consoles including PC. They're hard, so if that's a problem, the Legacy Collections have the "rewind" feature and I think save states (I can't remember since I don't use them).

Or, if adventure is more your style, give Metroid a try. I see you have Metroid Prime; that's always been a great example of what the GameCube could do. As for the rest of the series, actually playing them has been kind of tricky because they haven't been re-released that much. Arlo here has a great guide on how to get your hands on them (physical/Virtual Console/Switch/etc.): [Link]
I don't always recommend playing a series in order, but Metroid is definitely one of them. You'll get the most out of them and have a better appreciation of them if played in order. They'll just "click" more, if that makes any sense.
Metroids 1 and 2 have also been remade/overhauled, and are much more player-friendly now, if that's a concern for you. On the other hand, the difficult aspects of the original are precisely WHY a lot of people like it, but it's not for everyone. The remakes are probably the way to go for most.

As for your 40+ count, there's nothing wrong with wanting to stop there. Escape Bak'laag's dark embrace while you still can, lest ye be corrupted like the rest of us.

I already have Hamtaro downloaded, so I might as well stop being lazy and give it a try. Sometimes it's nice to kick back with something light, especially considering all the massive 50+ hour behemoths I've been playing lately.

Nah, I just checked your list of and and you've played plenty of noteworthy stuff. As long as you're having fun, that's the whole point of gaming! But also, look at ALL that Picross! Have you tried the indie game Murder By Numbers? I haven't played it myself so I don't know how good it is, but it's essentially a zany detective adventure game kinda like Ace Attorney, but with Picross puzzles being your primary means of investigation. I don't even know how that works, but it sounds interesting!

Oh and, yeah, 40+ unfinished games is rookie numbers. My own 80+ is mostly only counting games I've started at one point. If I included every game I own or want to play? ...I don't know if numbers go that high.

Add more games and let consume thee!

Decided that maybe it's time to stop adding new games and focus on the ones I already have, the 40+ unfinished games number is making me feel bad for everything I'm neglecting x_x

Ooo I see you're working through Ham-Ham Heartbreak! I actually started that a while ago, but didn't have the time to sit down and play all the way through. You'll have to let me know what you think! Might be next up on my GBA list
