To be completely honest, I never played PSO online simply for that fact, and that it was P2P. Back then, I didn't have a credit/debit card, so I had no means (my parents would NEVER have funded something like that for me). Challenge mode for me was trying to find someone I knew personally that liked to play (which wasn't hard) and sit and endure several hours of playing with no real gain to their actual characters (the really hard part).

You really should. I can't say there is too much difference in it gameplay wise (unless of course you bought PSO Plus), but there are a few visual aspects that are different. I've enjoyed it thoroughly. I didn't play too much of the DC version, as I was going backwards, so I'm sure you'll spot more differences than I did.

Oh, PSO2 is shaping up to be very promising. Even if it is a time sink, it'll be better than not having a sequel at all. I still find time here and there to play PSO Ver 1&2 Plus on the GCN, so I am pretty sure I can dedicate time to PSO2 upon it's release. Who knows, if I find the right community that plays around the times I can typically play, then I might end up devoting more time than I originally expected.

One thing I could never do was that challenge mode. For the GCN, you needed to have more than one person to play it, and I've never had anyone willing to stick it out for the amount of time required to play, so I still haven't gotten any of the super awesome rare weapons from beating it. Maybe one day.

You're fortunate though, because I would think a username like that would be taken in a heartbeat, and wouldn't even attempt it. Just look at my username: My first name, last name, and my favorite number. Not very creative, if you ask me. At least you have something worth talking about.

I take it your PSN/Gamertag of sorts is similar? I am a fan of PSO myself. Are you looking forward to PSO2? I'm actually really excited about it, especially if it 'feels' like PSO originally did (world wise, anyway). I had no real huge qualms with PSU, except for the community. :P
