I think it's considered the good GTAIV DLC because it scales up the wackiness quite a bit and brings back a bit of the silliness of earlier GTA games that was lost with the first two GTAIV stories. It sorta clashes with the rest of the GTAIV universe, but its admittedly quite a lot of fun.

I still think Chinatown Wars is the best GTA game in recent memory, though!

Is FFV the hardest game on the series?

I mean, I didn't feel it like it was. TBH, around halfway through the game, I was blazing through it on a kinda underleveled party, but the versatility of the Job System helped a lot. Seriously, I just got 3 of the 12 Legendary Weapons and even Bahamut was a no contest for my party. Of course, I was obliterated in a second by Omega Weapon, but I think it's fine for a normal playthrough.

Am I gonna play it again? Of course I will!! I loved this game's mechanics (specially the Job System); I really liked the party and characters, the funny moments and Gilgamesh is now one of my favorite FF characters of all time (which is now that I get why he keeps coming back. It almost makes me wonder how would a FFV-2 would be...). Exdeath, meme or not, is a pretty good villain and his final form is damn impressive. But I really enjoyed this game and it has climbed almost to the top on my favorite FF games. Almost, of course: FF8 is still and will remain my favorite.

Anyways, I didn't feel this game was THAT hard in comparison with other JRPGs or even other games in the series (fuck Kefka Tower and his "you need to grind all of the characters to get through" bullshit.) I'll come back at some point, but I'm fed up with FF games right now, at least for this year.

And well, I'm playing the iOS versions of the original DQ trilogy, so.... Yeah. I'll be Erdrick's descendant for a little while now.

Final Fantasy VIII.

What can I say about this game? I have such a deep, personal connection with this game it's kinda hard to put in words, really. I know it's polarizing: some people hate it, but I know I'm not the only one who really loves it. And I do love this game.

It means so much to me and this is the very first time I ever beat it (due to some piracy issues I've had over the years.) I somewhat love that the game is so broken (seriously, I beat Ultimecia with one Lion Heart per turn, all 4 forms) and I was decimating everything by Disc 2. The lovestory, although pretty well written, it sometime feels kinda forced, TBH. Well, what can you expect? Of course I'll find stuff that rubbed me in a wrong way, but damn, I love it. I really, really love this game. There is a reason why I fell in love with it when I was a kid and why sparked my interest in RPGs in general. But man.... so many things have happened since I first saw that intro video, almost 20 years ago.

This feels like the end of an era for me. This (for me, at least) is a crowning moment in my gaming years; all other RPGs I've played amounted to this one. I feel like I closed a cycle in my gaming life and I really feel both fine, satisfied, and accomplished by finishing it. I'll definitely come back to play it again and again.

FF8 is, without a doubt, my favorite game in the series. And I'll love to come back again when the time is right.

Haha! My brother did the Lionheart on Disc 1 thing. Then again, that's sort of his thing. He's the "I have to be strong enough to defeat X-ATM092 in every fight and get max AP" type of gamer. The type who replays RPGs just to break them harder the next time. Then again, I used to make it a point to defeat Dario in Chrono Cross at earlier and earlier points each time I replayed it so I'm guilty too.

I've seen people argue that Resident Evil 6 has the best gameplay engine as far as combat goes. I couldn't really get into it so I can't really vouch for that, but I was playing it co-op locally with two system linked systems so it was sort of a mess and I didn't have a great impression of it. What we did play was fun, albeit sort of drawn out and long winded. I'm compelled to dive back into it though. Sort of waiting for a Resident Evil sale on PS4 so I can get (most of) the titles on one console in one fell swoop (6 and 7 in particular since I've more or less finished the others).

My tastes in media haven't changed too much, except for music, but I find overly excessive CGI laden stuff very boring for the most part. One of the reasons I love Wild ARMs so much is that its impossible to take seriously and it sort of revels in the fact that its cheesy. The stories have this weird formulaic Power Rangers episode flow to them (villains hatch a convoluted plan, heroes confront the villains in the dungeon, they battle the monster-of-the-week dungeon boss, expository dialogue and lesson learned, rinse and repeat). I love media that doesn't take itself too seriously.
