Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
The Sega Dreamcast was a really interesting console. It's a console that doesn't have a specific genre tied to it, which is kind of rare if you think about it. I think it is best known for its arcade ports as it had some spot on Arcade ports. I played Space Channel 5 and was utterly terrible at it. The game is Simon Says in rhythm, so it was a bit challenging for me. Jet Set Radio is fantastic and has some great Color/Music to it. Crazy Taxi, Dead or Alive 2, Giga Wing I & II, Gunbird 2, Mr. Driller, Power Stone 1 & 2, SoulCalibur and any Capcom fighting game all had fantastic Arcade ports. Shenmue is interesting and worth a play if you enjoy slower paced games. Sega Rally Championship & Metropolis Street Racer are great racing games. Grandia II is a fantastic RPG while Phantasy Star Online is a great Single Player MMORPG.

The Dreamcast has a very unique library. Also, since it was so short, many of its games were ported to other systems. So, if you can't get a Dreamcast, just buy the ports or remakes. Many of them ended up on Steam/PS2/GameCube/XBOX.

Steam Sales are a total Backlog killer and any other kind of sale. Remember, as long as you make some kind of progress, then you are making progress. Nobody ever stops buying games once they join the Backloggery because that is humanly impossible. But, as long as you beat more than you buy, then you are making some sort of Backlog progress!

Thank You!!

Chrono Trigger was made of a super team composed of Final Fantasy & Dragon Quest people, so it's a once in a lifetime game. It's an amazing game and worth checking out if you can.

Between FFVI and FFV, I'd play FFVI first. I guess it depends on how well or you like the series. FFVI is a great RPG in general and a great starting point of the series. Favoritism towards FFX aside, I think FFVI is clearly the best game in the series. FFV, I think is more of a hidden gem in the series. It's great if you are familiar with the series and know how the mechanics work. If you are new to the series and RPG's in general, it can be a bit tough. If you know FF games work and how to exploit the game's weaknesses, then FFV can be very fun.

Obviously coming out on the DreamCast didn't exactly help Skies legacy. I know it is a bit expensive, but the GameCube has a wonderful version that would totally be worth it. Yeah, I completely understand about Vyse. The game is also so colorful, which can be lacking in many games today as well.

Also, one of the things that helped me is creating awards for myself. For example, I buy a new game every time I get the 'On Fire' Badge. You are never going to go through your entire collection without buying another game. So, just limit yourself and wait to pick up new games after you've beaten a few. Also, keeping a positive Memory Card score is another great way to lower your .

I think the main problem with Pre-Sequel solo is that the setting is devoid of personality and it's incredibly hard to be engaged to the side quests. Like 1 and 2, if you just go through the story missions, you won't have the best time finishing it. But the rest of the content there just feels endless and the same over and over again. Honestly, now that I think about it more, I have the same opinions with BL1. I had the same difficulty with BL1, and I eventually had to go with a co-op group to beat it.

BL2 was much easier to play solo because it made me want to unlock, discover, and complete everything. The setting was fantastic, and the characters kept making you come back for more. Also, maybe it's just me, but I think that the leveling of the player character and the CPU was made for that more in mind. It was the most balanced game of the three I have played so far.

Chrono Trigger & Final Fantasy VI are some of the best RPG's ever made, so they deserve a play through. They are fantastic games and still hold up to this day. FFVI is my second favorite Final Fantasy game, so I love that to death. And Chrono Trigger is up there as well. Earthbound has its flaws, but it has one of the best characters and scenarios ever in a RPG.

So, this is my second time through Skies of Arcadia as I played through it when I first got my DreamCast a few years ago. Honestly, it's probably my favorite Dreamcast game I've ever played and one of the best Sega games ever made as well. It feels like one of the last great JRPG's before they began to fall apart in the PS3/360/Wii generation. If you love or have any affinity for JRPG's, then it is worth a playthrough. It's a bit long, but the story, characters and battle system are some of the best you will find. I highly recommend the Dreamcast or the GameCube version!

Yeah, deciding on what to play next is a huge burden and something many people struggle with. Obviously, looking at your collection and seeing what game speaks to you helps. Also, not doing the same type of game over and over helps. You don't want RPG burnout, so throw in some other games as well. Also, if you are playing a game, but getting an urge to play another, finish the game you playing first. Making a list of games you really want to play also helps as that is a nice reminder.

I think if you liked Borderlands 2 you’ll find something to like with this one. It isn’t as good, but it is more of the same. I think you’ll have more fun if you play in co-op. I’ve been playing through it on single player and it’s been a really grinding experience. It’s really cheap now on 360/PS3 and also cheap with the collection on PS4/X1, so it’s definitely worth it to take a look at it.

If you don't already follow Maximilian_DOOD on Twitch and YouTube, he's probably got the most talent in almost every fighting game I've seen him play. You're bound to learn something. He probably has a whole series of videos on YouTube about Skullgirls.

That's exactly how I feel about Killer Instinct and Street Fighter. I want to invest all of the time to become really good, but with my backlog and completion rate, it's unlikely to happen. I have all the tools, except the time to devote to it.
