I felt like the entire series got progressively better as it went on... almost. A lot of people like to bash Convergence (the 4th game in the series), but honestly, I think it was my favorite. Yes, Epiphany was one hell of a finale, but Convergence had so many great characters and moments throughout. I thought that they were all pretty good about not requiring too much moon logic, at least compared to what I'm used to playing; some of those older ones can be fucking BRUTAL. I actually just played one of my very favorites not too long ago; it's called 2064: Read Only Memories. It's actually on sale at GOG right now, in case you needed any further temptation. It's a neat cyberpunk Adventure with retro graphics that are much more bright and colorful than the theme would suggest. Lots of queer characters, which is nice, but it seemed a bit pandering at times. I couldn't stay mad at it, though, because most every character is so lovable that it's hard to pick out my favorites. Great humor, great characters, great music, and it even inspired me to invent a new cookie, and I'd been looking for culinary inspiration for quite some time.

That is quite a lot; all of my unfinished PC games right now are from GOG, if I'm not mistaken, and that GODDAMN Summer sale; I got 11 new games from the damn thing, and for less than $30. Most of them weren't even on my damn wishlist; they're just new things I picked up because they were dirt cheap and looked interesting, but not so interesting that I'd buy them at full price. Sneaky bastards...

And don't you worry about lateness, especially with such a cosmic flake as myself. I'm a bit like the way Eddie Izzard describes the god, Chaos, and I sometimes disappear for days at a time.

Not bad, but I think I enjoyed the music in the dorms best, with the night music for the park right behind it. The music in the hospital sucked, because it reminded me of a shitty job I used to have for 15 goddamn years of my life, but hey, they can't all be winners. The game was neat, but due to its short length, it felt like most of it was setup; I imagine that the sequels are going to be better.

I've been buying games on GOG for years, but I've only recently started actually playing them, now that I have a machine that's not a toaster. A close friend is getting me into PC games, so I have a lot of catching up to do; I think the last new game I bought before this was Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition or Blood.

I guess I can't relate because I found PoR as a whole to be ridiculously easy on normal mode. Even hard isn't really that challenging. I have about 4,000 bonus EXP and a bunch of stat-up items that I haven't even used yet because I just don't need them. If I ever fail a chapter I usually have to make only a single tweak or two to my strategy and then it's smooth sailing. (For example, I was having trouble with enemy ballistas, then gave Gatrie the Provoke skill and cruised to victory)

The Black Knight showing up out of nowhere is more of a cheap and frustrating death than a difficulty spike really. Once you know he's going to be there, you can work around it.

I would actually think a slow playing style would suit chapter 8 really well, because it's a survival chapter. You just have to set up three "walls" around your middle base and rotate out characters from time to time (except Titania who should never die).

If I recall correctly, on hard mode, I had Ike primarily guarding the left side, and Ilyana just came down that way rather conveniently. I talked to her and then had her run to the middle out of harm's way. Wasn't a problem at all.
