Hey! Just saw you with a DDR game beaten, while observing the home page. Yikes, that's a lot of DDR/BM games there! I have a big interest in such games, mainly StepMania. StepMania is how I play DDR songsets and simfiles currently, as well as ones of other rhythm games. I have a custom DDR pad in the works and I should get back to it!

Agreed. Bass was the coolest thing my ten-year-old brain could imagine, next to Zero. He shoots diagonally for god's sake!

I'm not nearly adventurous enough to even try X5 or X6. Kudos to you.
That part after Cold Man is a bit of a sticking point with Mega Man, though. I just wafted about through the five open stages, trying to find new CDs while attempting to git gud, for a solid hour or two. The problem is that Cold Man's weapon is Burner Man's weakness, but you'd never know it, because he's practically invulnerable to the Ice Wall through 70% of his actions. It's partly luck, getting him into a kill pattern with his weakness. Ground Man hits like a truck, but he's relatively easy to beat with the buster, once you have his patter down, which is relatively simple. I was also able to buster kill Pirate Man, but beating Ground Man opens up a few more options.

Much obliged. It wasn't easy, I will say that. King Stage 2 as Rockman tried my patience in a way few games could. I actually like the game a bit, which surely helped. I have slightly odd sensibilities, in comparison to many Mega Man fans: In some ways I think Megaman 7 is more difficult; and Megaman 4 I just can't--even. Rockman & Forte fills me with a bit of nostalgia, as well, since I used to play around with it via emulation back in middle school, which helped with the motivation to see it through. Also, I recently slayed another personal demon in Rocket Knight Adventures, which probably helped with the confidence.

I'm curious at what point you've gotten bogged down by it. I won't lie, I brushed up against the brink a couple times in the King stages, but I ultimately enjoyed it, and the CD collecting gives me a peculiar feeling of joy.

It was actually on the transition between the first and second form, but I didn't want to potentially spoil anything. Not the worst final boss to have a game freeze on, but still, it was perplexing.

I felt pretty much the same way after beating Grandia. I thought I'd never look at it or its ilk for quite some time. This here backloggery of mine says I beat the Digital Museum a mere ten days after finishing Grandia, though. That sounds like pure madness, as I'm pretty sure Digital Museum added another 14 hours or so. It's hard for me to remember now, but I'm pretty sure Digital Museum doesn't use a completed Grandia save in any way. It's pretty decent, though, either way. Lots of unlockable artwork, and some drama tracks. You can open up save files that can be used with the Saturn version of Grandia to revisit some of the more poignant scenes. The Saturn version of Grandia is kind of a mixed bag, though. I haven't played the PS1 version, but from some comparison videos, you lose out on a lot of transparent effects in battle, etc; the game chugs at times when using the camera; but the textures and some effects are a bit better. Plus, real-time rendered, scaling environments in battle--still doesn't really help encounters from getting stale.

Sorry to invade your wall space. I've been following your progress through Grandia here, and in the RB TR thread. I thought it pretty funny that you mentioned this, "I just hope it doesn't freeze right after I land the final hit on the last boss or something," as that's exactly what happened to me when I played through the Saturn version. It was the only instance of it freezing on me in the 80 hours I played it, too. So strange. Also interesting that the Playstation version seems to have a much more common problem of freezing.
