If you're a fan of Gundam, check out the Unicorn OVAs. The first aired not too long ago and is incredible.

Well modern review sites have been basing scores off aesthetics and market value for years. Gamespot had a stint with a Ubisoft game not too long ago; someone gave it a low review and they ended up firing the writer when Ubisoft threatened to take down its ads.

I'd recommend either checking numerous reviews of the same game or just not reading any at all.
