I mean it's bad enough the release was going to be an the 3DS and it's been over 10 years hiatus since the last game, but at least it was something!!! Damn it, considering the Legends series was one of my favorites among the MegaMan franchise they decide to let it kick the bucket once and for all D:

A Mega Man 5 Banner? Anyways, thanks for the heads up. Now I'm a little more enthusiastic about playing that game.

The new sprites do seem kind of cheap and they take some getting used to, but one thing I'm happy about is that at least they're consistent now (i.e. FFIV and After Years use the same sprites now, instead of the different/individual ones used on SNES FFIV and WW After Years).

The game is overall quite nice. It has the same kind of shiny pretty polish that the FF and FFII Anniversary Editions for PSP had. And the price is right. The Interlude chapter is quite short. I'm not sure what else to say about it to be honest. I'm a FFIV superfan so I thought it was pretty groovy.

Yeah Link's Awakening is the best game of the 5 Game Boy games I bought on the Virtual Console service. I also actually had the DX version a long time ago for Game Boy Color, so I'm happy.

The Virtual Console functions for 3DS are hilarious and also ridiculous. I feel like I'm getting unlimited continues in Super Mario Land, haha! (Note that I will not mark these when I do this).

Are you aware of the stage select option in Castlevania ReBirth? I know it's not as useful as quick saves, but at least you don't have to beat the game in one sitting.

Here are my two cents on Solatorobo:
The graphics are very good for a DS-game, it has a nice soundtrack and the style of the cutscenes is gorgeous aswell. Only on a few occasions there are slight slowdowns, but nothing fatal.
The fighting system is simple and you have a few customization options which increase with time as new elements are introduced (even very late in the game). The quests are diverse and the different minigames and other elements like shmup-stage, racing, fishing etc. help to keep things fresh. The story is good and the characters kinda grow on you with time aswell even though they are kinda generic.
Overall I'm quite happy with how the game turned out to be.

It looked a lot like Cloud, but awfully feminine and in an artstyle I wasn't immediately familiar with. As soon as you mentioned FFT it hit me that he was indeed in it as an optional character or whatever so yeah. I guess kind of a geek-fail on my part, given I knew already... I have FFT: WotL but I haven't played it yet. Most of my RPGs are on the backburner for the moment anyway.

Limited continues aren't too big an issue, since I love arcade games and they've always had limited continues for the ports (though usually also an option to enable higher/lower amounts or infinite continues). I can most likely take all of that stuff in stride and enjoy the game, so thanks for the recommendation! I'll be sure to check it out (though it'll be a while before I do that, too, the recent Steam sale hammered my wallet pretty badly and gave me 40(+?) more unfinished games.

I know this kind of comes out of the blue and all but I found you on the front page and decided I might as well say hello.

Hey, I just beat Pulseman. I know I'm doing a Mega Man Fest, but surely Mega Man inspired games count, right?

All in all, it's pretty great, all except for the water level. I really hated that. Nearly put me off the game. The first part of the final level is kind of the worst kind of autoscrolling level imaginable, but the rest of the autoscrolling parts are much more tame and enjoyable.

Oh, and I beat Mega Man 3 again. It's pretty damn amazing. And the water levels are just as, if not more fun than the rest of the game. Pity about Rush Marine though, it's totally overshadowed by Rush Jet.
