Hi! I personally liked Scarlet/Violet more than Sword/Shield. I wasn't sure if I'd like the open world of Pokémon Violet but I had a lot of fun exploring and finding new creatures. Traversing the world becomes very easy and interesting if you do the Titan quests early on in the game. Scarlet/Violet has lots of quality of life features. Sword/Shield had a very friendly and likeable rival though! Both games have some great Pokémon designs and nice locations.
I've seen lots of complaints about Scarlet/Violet's poor performance which I didn't really notice, but I played the game only in handheld mode so maybe that makes a difference.

Black 2/White 2 is my all-time favorite in the series but the DS games might be less than ideal if you're playing together with someone on one handheld console, compared to being able to view the game on a TV screen.

Whichever Pokémon game you decide to pick, I hope both you and your son have lots of fun playing!

Andromeda is the first Mass Effect game I've tried and the first few hours have been interesting. Looking forward to see how it continues.

Glad to see Radiant Historia see some attention it deserves. I often wish the studio would've developed something for the big consoles, but I guess the studio have gone defunct. Your update made me remember that the game has got some excellent songs, too!
