Long answer: The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Dungeon is a hack of Zelda 1 where you must go through 255 randomized rooms to reach Princess Zelda. The maker took special care to make sure certain enemies don't appear unless you obtain certain items. No secrets, no blocks to push, just fight! But watch out! If you're unlucky, you could be unprepared and be put in a room full of blue Wizzrobes.

I think it's enjoyable.

It's interesting how River City Goils 2 came out and then nobody really talked about it much. It was just kinda one of those games that had some mild hype and then came and went. At least, that's what I think.

A fine list, great even. I have a majority of those already though. Only one of those I don't have in some form is Cabal and Dudes with Attitude.

I don't own or currently have access to Dudes With Attitude, but I'll look into it. Ain't that a skateboarding game by Data East? Not sure about that, I'll look into it.

That is super weird about level cap and the inability to grind for a higher level. It's a JRPG! What gives? Haha. Lame about the first two bosses being unfair too. But aside from those complaints it sounds quite solid! If I ever get my hands on a copy, I'll be sure to check it out!

Hey. What are your thoughts on Lost Odyssey? That's one game I always wanted to play on 360 but I just never got around to it.

You're right about that: they patched the options in later, but the voice acting is still pretty good; it doesn't feel like an afterthought. I'd played the demo quite a while back, and even when they were exclusively a straight couple, I was SO here for it, but this is a really nice set of options. There are plenty of queer games out there, but like 97% of them are Visual Novels; I want to play something.

That's right, I saw that. Can't really get excited though, I didn't play Breath of the Wild too much. I'm more excited for Tunic.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Parasite Eve. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it. It sounds like we had a fairly similar experience with the game. I expected some sort of RE knock-off too and was really blown away by the unique combat system. I remember struggling incredibly hard on that final boss too. I went into it feeling fairly well prepared, but ended up dying there for hours on end. I was pretty darn close to giving up on it but somehow scraped through it. Nice job getting through it, especially being underprepared!

Well it's definitely very similar to 3D action games of the time. When I played it, it just had little technical problems, control issues, camera problems and slowdown that kind of made it a little worse. (I fell through the floor once at least as I remember) There is also one particular part that is pretty annoying by design, but I won't spoil that. It just takes some tolerance. Legacy of Darkness is somewhat better, since some of that technical stuff is fixed and it has more content. It's not the mortal sin people like to play it up as.

Heh? Lukes like somebody else got Ultimate Qix recently too. It has potential to be awesome!

Saw someone random just started playing Castlevania and it said unfinished. As a mega fan I was so happy! Then I got to your page and it was Castlevania64. God speed! But it's worth at least trying.

Yeah it's weird. I like the game, I think it's actually pretty fun, but there are so many little things that just bring the game down. Field requirements are the absolute worst of the bunch so far though and I am not excited for when I run into more lol
