☆☆☆★★ I don't hate this game, but it's got a lot, and I mean a LOT, of dropped balls. It also has no idea what kind of tone it wants, and will mood whiplash you constantly. The combat I could see being engrossing if you really dug into it and played a difficulty that enforced the smaller mechanics, but on normal it really just felt mashy and unsatisfying. Characters are uneven and only really become endearing about halfway in, and the plot just sorta gets lost for a good 50% of the game. Bienfu suc

★★★★★ Extremely difficult but extremely satisfying to succeed at. Definitely not a game for everyone, and I do think having difficulty modes would have made it more appealing to a wider audience, but I for one welcome the challenge and difficulty in this case. Once the combat clicked, it was incredibly fun to get attack patterns down and beat down an opponent with a string of parries and aggression and feel like a kickass shinobi guy. After you die like twenty times learning it of course.

Yeah I found out the combo I was using was techable =(

but he still gets good damage off yrden, ex igni, 11/33BB and some of the anti-soul charge moves. Check out [Link] for some combos if you haven't seen them already. Geralt's poke damage is definitely mediocre but his range + speed combination seems pretty good.

Yeah, I got the demo to mess around in while I waited for Valkyria4. I really just wanted to run around as a gnome like/halfling thing cause Jess' got me on big ol' DnD kick and it's reignited my love of small fantasy races and I wanted to visualize one.

Little did I know that FF14 is actually an amazing game.

The localization is apparently bad enough on the whole that Japanese media was aware of it. Read an article on a jpn site about the fan outcry about the bad localization lol. Kinda wonder if it hadn't gotten that far, and presumably to falcoms ears, if they would've changed it.

And to each their own on the combat front. I like speedy stuff. Luminous form was super fun. :>

Dana's second hammer form boss, the one in the dungeon. I hate how clunky her hammer form is and that boss had too much hp to be justifiable. Boring, poorly made fight for a boring, poorly made form.

And its the Japanese one, but I've seen the lovely treatment NISA gave the game. I finally swapped my backloggery account to default Japanese. Given how rare english games are for me now I figured it made more sense to have that be the outlier.
