♥ Hi there! ♥
I'm a late-twenty-something part-time Accounts Administrator in rainy old England with no social life to speak of and more video games than I know what to do with.
Click the fun little arrow thing for more info about me and my backlog if you're interested, and drop a comment/add me if you'd like to chat~
♥ Backloggery Info ♥
I write mini reviews in the Comments section when I finish a game detailing my thoughts. These will invariably contain spoilers, so BE CAREFUL. This is your one and only warning.
Games are scored as follows:
5 stars = Favourites. There won't be many of these
4 stars = Games I will remember for the right reasons
3 stars = Average games I enjoyed but could have done without playing
2 stars = Games I will remember for the wrong reasons
1 star = Games I did not enjoy to varying degrees
...it's not a very precise system. But eh. We do what we can.
A lot of my opinions are...controversial. But everything you see in the comments is my personal opinion; I make no claim to objectivity or fact. If you're offended by anything I say, please ignore me, rather than attack me. An attack on a game you like is not an attack on you as a person. But hey, we can have a civil discussion about it if you want to, because exploring different perspectives is what makes life interesting!
I don't follow Backloggery rules. To me, a game is complete when I've finished the main story/campaign/whatever and I've had enough of it. This is why you won't see any games marked as Beat in my backlog.
As someone who used to be obsessed with Platinum trophies, following the Backloggery rules for what makes a game Complete would cause me an intense amount of anxiety and stress...and that is not why I play video games. Games are for fun, and the simple truth is that very few games are actually fun to 100%. Especially games with trophies.
...that is not to say I won't go for completion/postgame, though. Old habits die hard, and sometimes it's fun! But if I don't for whatever reason, and don't intend to go back to it anytime soon - if ever - marking it as Beat rather than Complete seems like a waste of time to me. So yeah, there is that.
Duplicates and games I have absolutely no intention of finishing unless I'm feeling especially masochistic and/or bored one day are nulled. This is not an exact science, although one day I may get around to sorting it all out. Maybe.
I stealth delete games I get rid of, because it makes a mess of my Memory Card if I don't, and I don't want games I used to own on here: this is a record of games I own.
♥ More stuff about me ♥
Errrr....OK, I probably shouldn't have added this section, because I am DREADFUL at talking about myself. Truth be told I am not a very interesting person. My life story would make for a very dull, morbid, and melodramatic book.
This is also my third Backloggery now...if you're thinking "this person sounds familiar" then we've probably spoken in the past! Let's just say I've had a few issues over the last few years and leave it at that. If you're interested in renewing our acquaintance, I am too!
Mostly I play JRPGs, although as I've gotten older I've started to dabble in other genres and platforms too so I like to think that my tastes are constantly evolving and growing.
...that said, you won't find many puzzle, sports, racing, or fighting games in here. There are games I don't know whether or not I'd like, and games I'm just bad at/want to avoid. xD;
If you want to know anything about me, you have but to ask! I also have a Discord if you ever want to talk to me via that; just ask~
