Total of 53 games cleared for the year.
As much as I wanted to make decent progress clearing the backlog I can't say I did the best due to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Splatoon 3 releasing. But I can say that I did clear most of the game I got throughout the year so I still have less than 20 games to go until the backlong is done. Still have lots of JRPGs to get through.

2021 Year in Review:
Obtained 48 games
Beat 41 games
Completed 18 games
Total of 59 games cleared for the year.
I may have gotten way more games this year than previously, but I also beat so many of them by the year end. I also finally got around to a good amount of my unfinished games. Overall I would describe last year as getting into the home stretch of the backlog. I feel on track to get the backlog done this year, and this year looks like it will be full of JRPGs.

Notable game clearing events of the year:
Got a PS5, allowing me to add PS4 and PS5 games to my collection.
Got my Steam backlog to under 10 games left for the first time.
Basically every system has less than 10 games left to beat.
Beat my DS and Wii collection.

2020 Year in Review:
Obtained 22 games
Beat 54 games
Completed 24 games
Total of 78 games cleared for the year.
Despite Animal Crossing's presence, I made some good progress on my backlog in 2020. I knew I wasn't going to reach the same numbers as I did in 2019, but that's mostly due to the amount of games I have left to finish in the first place. Now I have less than 40 games left, so I think there is a good chance that I get through my backlog this year.

2019 Year in Review:
Obtained 30 games
Beat 64 games
Completed 29 games
Total of 93 games cleared for the year.
2019 an amazing year for game clearing for me. I beat 93 games and now have less than 100 games left in my backlog. I hope to keep this momentum despite the looming release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

A little late but...

This year I attempted the "2019 Special A-Z Game Clearing Challenge": Beat at least one game from each letter of the alphabet by the end of the year.

This was a special goal for this year's game clearing inspired by ProtonJon's similar challenge on his stream. This was a one time thing sort of game clearing goal mostly due to my collection not having that many games that start with certain letters of the alphabet. As of writing this I am lacking any unfinished I, Q, U, V, Y, & Z games. So as fun as it was to do this, I probably wont commit to attempting this challenge again next year.
