I've never played a game like that before 2010, except Mario Kart Battle Mode I guess if you could count that. I think Twisted Metal is on PS4 PS2 Classics, maybe I'll try that out. I may do Second Offense with my cousin, he's pretty much the only person who will play retro games with me, my friend will only play PS4 or whatever the current console is. I remember when Genesis was current and we played that and Game Gear. Somehow I got him to play Second Offense and Guardian Heroes with me once, but I think that was a fluke. My cousin has no trouble playing retro games though, and he was a Sega kid too, which is probably a big factor why he prefers more retro stuff. He only recently got a PS4, and before then I think the most recent thing he had was a PS2...but he only has a PS4 at his place in SF, so usually I just take a few PS4 games up there when I visit and my Retro Freak, which has a ton of 16 bit games. When he comes down here, we usually play Saturn/Dreamcast or other systems, since I have room for everything in my office. We did beat Crazy Taxi with an S rank last time or something.

Oh yeah, I also got Typing of the Dead, and the Seganet keyboard, for kicks. Should be at least a little fun.

I beat Yakuza 0 last night, and it was pretty damn fun, easily in my top 3 Yakuza games. See, I expected Kiwami, cause we got 0, and it made sense to me that we'd get the remake of 1. I dunno, lots of people thought the opposite and we'd never get Kiwami. Plus, I wasn't sure how the sales of 5 were, given its delay and digital only status. I did hear the sales for 0 were the best in the series, so that's veeeery good. Also excited that Kiwami and 6 will be physical. Now they just need to go up for preorder. I saw that the reviews of Valkyria Revolution weren't very good, but I don't know how much of that is because they expected another TRPG. Personally I think they should localize VC3 and PSO2 to get the people who have been hounding them off their backs, but I'd honestly rather have something like a Skies of Arcadia remaster/remake or have them bring back Streets of Rage or some other older series. I was expecting more buildup around Majima's personality shift from the beginning of 0 to the newer games, though. I guess it's just by choice, I thought it might have been more interesting if it was some sort of coping mechanism for a repressed memory. I dunno.

I dunno. I just think it overheated because I know my dad left my Sega CD on for two nights in a row somehow, which ended up frying my Sega CD, because it was loading on a loop the whole time (It was Sonic CD ++, I tried it afterwards, first time it froze on the intro, second time it crashed after Act 1 of the first zone), but I've since gotten a JVC X'Eye that seems to work great.

I actually got a 27" Triniton CRT for free shortly after I posted that, which I got a lot of lightguns and lightgun games for, probably going to play a lot of them with my cousin. I got both House of the Deads, both Virtua Cops, all 4 Time Crisis games (Crisis Zone, not TC4, that's on PS3, but I do have that pack and PS3 Moves), Vampire Night, and three of those Gun Survivor games (I skipped Dino Stalker because I heard it was kinda meh). Also Death Crimson OX and Confidential Mission for Dreamcast. Two of each lightgun, Saturn, DC, PS1, and PS2, and all the cables I need. All that is set up in my bedroom though, so I can't stream it unless I put a PC in there again, which I'm probably not going to do. I also got a PSVR, which is pretty cool, but I didn't pay for any of it, it was a leftover Xmas present. Been playing VR Pinball with my dad, and he creamed me at 25 million points to my 5 million. At least this time I won one game. He's probably as good at pinball as I am at gaming. He's pretty pitiful at gaming, otherwise. I even kick his ass in Pacman and Asteroids.

Some day I want to try MGL, but I've heard the encounter rate is kinda bad, plus the loading times. Almost what turned me off from the DC version of Skies. By no means a bad game, but the encounter rate and loading times (I was playing a burned version at the time that had waaay worse loading times), and the fact that I had no grasp of the combat ruined the game for me for a good year or so. Even if I got past Valua, I never got past the South Ocean with those one hit KO enemies, but then I learned about Delta Shield and super moves, and now I'm probably over halfway, just need to get back to it. I've since imported a looot more Saturn games, probably at least half my collection, in part because I'd rather not clear out a top row for more longboxes if I'm only going to get a few, and because JP games are far cheaper usually, and of course are much more damage resistant. A few of my longboxes have pretty bad cracks and stuff, but oddly enough they're games like Ecco and Bug.

Christmas Eve was awesome; I spent most of the day with my sister, and the night with my mom's side of the family; they're so fucking chill. Actual Christmas was a total shit show, and I knew it would be, but fuck it; it's over, and I'm several hundred dollars closer to a new PC.

It really is, unless you're able to completely kill all of your emotions, preferences, and personality traits and become a total robot. I've tried it with moderate success, and it really only gets you so far. Some people donate to charity, and that's certainly a noble act. My thing is to help those that slip through those cracks; those who don't belong to any particular group, but still need help. Someone has to do something for them, right? Having a therapist is great, but a therapist won't understand an experience the same way that a fellow victim does. Oh, I'm perfectly fine; I've made my peace with it, and talking about it doesn't stir up the shit like it used to. This weekend's fucking insane, so I'll PM you some other time. It usually takes about 4 messages to tell the whole story.

That's the only issue? Damn; most people I know that upgraded to XP totally fried their drivers, and there are a lot of games that have compatibility issues with it, even moreso than modern systems, so whatever kind of crazy voodoo shit you're using to keep that thing running, you keep at it! Yeah, and I feel like a lot of the time, these are the people who see their kids more as trophies than human beings, so they just want to brag about the shiny gemstones with which they can encrust them. And people wonder why today's kids are so disrespectful and detached from reality. I've taught this generation, and I used to think they were just assholes, but I've come to understand them; they just legitimately don't know how to interact with human beings or think of anyone other than themselves, because they were never taught by their parents.

Shit, you're right; I can't access it, either. The thing is that those assholes usually ruin the reputation of the entire group, because they're the loudest, and I feel that the people who have the most right to be offended by them are the good people who belong to those groups.

To me, pride is a waste of time; praising myself for the things I've done doesn't accomplish anything. Of course, I'm wired a little differently from everyone else, and that's both a good and a bad thing. But, yes, your positive attributes don't come from your race, religion, sexuality, genitals, profession, or what color eyes you have; there are assholes of all races, religions, sexualities, jobs, and eye colors. Your positiv atributes come from what you do with your life, and why you do it; if you wind up accidentally curing cancer while trying to murder a school bus full of children, that doesn't count. Well, it's a shortcut, because most people don't understand the difference. You can be best friends with my father, mother, and grandparents, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you know the first thing about who I am. Hell, people who have lived right next door to me for over a decade don't have a clue, and neither do a lot of people who worked with me for even longer.

Oh, no, this isn't the Basketball game; this is the game made in RPG Maker. [Link] I'm not the biggest Accolade fan, either.

That can kill almost any song, no matter how good; it's why I can't fucking stand 95% of Billy Joel's hits... except make that twice as long It was the first Techno album I ever had, so I was obsessed with it around the time it came out. I still think it's fucking gross; my dad thinks the suction cups are the best thing ever. I definitely agree with you on clams, though; they taste like rubber. Well, unless you dip them in butter; then, they taste like buttered tires!

I totally get it; they tell stories that are hilarious to them, but it's all in-jokes, so nobody in the audience has a fucking clue what they're talking about. Having an elderly woman just blurt out "Oh, I wish I was dead," very matter-of-factly after a short pause in an otherwise pleasant conversation is pretty universal.

I know, right! He apparently recognized me from GameFAQs, but upon seeing the avatar, you were the first person to spring to mind.

Oh, I don't know a damn thing about him as a player - including what team he was even on - I just think he's a cool guy. I like how he's an athlete who says, "I'm not a role model; I just play basketball." It's from Shut-up and Jam Gaiden; even that game's soundtrack is funny. The boss music is called Eternity, and the metadata in the file says that the artist is "jesus christ the guy from deep purple sang this". The other boss music is called jonathan taylor thomas. The game is so fucking absurd, but by the end, it has you shouting, "Yeah! YEAH!!!!" because you get so caught up in it all.

That was a revelation that I had when I was really into Techno; it was about the time that Dirty Vegas had that hit that was on the Mitsubishi commercials. It's fine; you're not entirely to blame for that one, especially since I'm not exactly known for subtlety. That and you and I do talk about actual cookies fairly often. I'll have to take your word for it; I don't think I've ever had squid or frog legs. My dad always raves about calamari, and how it has all the little suction cups on it, but that just grosses me the fuck out too much to ever want to try it; I'm pretty big on texture.

Oh yeah, I have life experience in spades. I remember the president of the last company for which I worked getting really drunk at our Christmas party, and insisting that I drink some wine, even though I was about to be filling prescription orders. I said, "I don't drink." He responded in his weird accent (he was from a French colony in South Africa), "Oh, come on; you need some life experience!" "Oh, I have plenty of life experience." "Oh, how did that work out for you?" I don't remember exactly what I said, but his response was, "I think you need to try again. I'M GOING TO HAVE SOME MORE WATER!" right before slamming down half a bottle of wine. Every time I hear the term "life experience", I think of that. But yeah, I could just tell stories from my days as a delivery girl, and I'd have the crowd rolling. Yeah, that sounds like my thing; I'll definitely check out that Ecco game.

I have periods where I have my good days and my bad days. I also have my periods where I have my bad days and my worse days. It does suck, but I'm surviving it, so I might as well use it to help others, if I can. Affection is the trigger, because it was the center of the abuse that I endured earliest in my life; I've been through sexual, verbal, physical, and even chemical abuse (as in, I was being forced to take wild combinations of prescription drugs and overdoses of OTCs, sometimes enough that I just wouldn't sleep) from a wide variety of sources, but somehow, it's the sexual abuse that fucked me up the most. If you want details, we can chat via PM; I'm open with it, but I don't broadcast it out of respect for those who don't want to read about it.

[Link] I think it was in the Masterpieces article at the end of my JRPG miniseries; I remember you saying something about Lunar.

And that's just it: every group, whether it's a race, religion, gender, or even a fandom is going to have great people and assholes; you don't judge a group by a few individuals, nor do you decide by their actions whether you want to be a part of it. Are priests fucking children? Sure; they have been for centuries; you're just only now hearing about it. Does that mean that all Catholics condone pedophilia? I think you'll find that the overwhelming majority do not.

I'm of the belief that we shouldn't be proud or ashamed of what we are; it's who we are that matters. I'm a short, pansexual woman in Rural Pennsylvania, who has an interest in baking and video games. Know what that says about me? Diddly-dick. Sadly, it seems that when most people say that they want to get to know someone, they only want to know about them.

I still have my Gateway from 2000, which runs Windows '98, and the only thing wrong with it - aside from having a shit-fit when running DOS-based programs, sometimes randomly rebooting the entire system - is that the power button is smushed in. Well, that's how consumerism works: all you need is to create a demand, and you have people fist-fighting over a toy that - let's face it - you want more than your child does.

I just got my new AV>HDMI converter, old one overheated or something
Tested my XBO, Saturn, and Genesis, all three show up on X Split. Everything is routed through my capture card. My already technologically impressive setup has gotten more impressive. Basically i'm running 15-20 systems through two 8 way hdmi switchers, an 8 way AV, and a 5 way S Video, and have like 5 HDMIs left over. I just have to have the right input on the bottom HDMI switcher and the AV switcher to pick up my AV systems. The only bad thing is I had to use S Video for my Dreamcast instead of VGA because my capture equipment doesn't like my new VGA box. I guess I could dig it out, but I'd have to find that, the VGA>HDMI converter, and find an HDMI port for it. I really want a CRT for House of the Dead 1/2 and Virtua Cop, but there's no way I could fit one in here unless I put it on a shelf in the middle of the room, which would be a very strange thing to do.

$150 in...2013 or 2014, I believe, perfect condition longbox, sleeves, and discs. I'd like to get more longboxes, but I have no room since they don't fit on the lower shelves, I'd have to move one row of my PS4 games...but there's not very many Saturn/Sega CD games I really want. I will definitely use that guide when I play MGL.

I had a thing like that when I ordered my Dreamcast back in 2010 (for my birthday, actually). Came bundled with Vigilante 8, which seemed like shovelware, but actually isn't bad. I guess it was my first "car combat" game. I've never tried Twisted Metal, but it seems similar?

They just announced a localization for Azure Revolution, just called "Valkyria Revolution" here. People on the article were so mad because the gameplay is different...but...it's a spinoff, not a sequel? Speaking of localizations, did you see Kiwami + 6's localizations coming? I didn't. Both are physical, too! And of course 0 next month. You've already played Kiwami and 0, right? Are you gonna buy the US versions, or just stick with the Japanese versions? Gonna just import 6 from Japan? I don't know if I will if I'd just play the US version. I imported 0 and Kiwami, but now I'll just play the English versions.

I kind of am curious about starting the Steam version, but part of me just wants to stick with the DC version.

"Frikkin'... he' we gooooooo!" "Mama mia; it's like my pool's tearin' ass around the back ya'd!" I could do this all day. Mario in flip-flops, sweatpants, and a wifebeater. Actually, that kinda reminds me of an old Rayman ad that had a mock game box for "The Great Ray", saying "accept no substitutes", and Ray looked pretty much like that, except I think he might've had slippers and/or a bathrobe on. Anyway, yeah, that woman has a way with words, for sure; a fucked-up sense of humor runs in the family. Well, if that's a picture of you next to the comment you left me at Gaming Symmetry, I will say that you're one of a select few that can pull of a shaved head.

Well, that's just it, isn't it? All the fire-and-brimstone shit is from the Old Testament, which was actually from Judaism, but do you see groups of loud, angry Jewish people taking to the streets to "Murder all them queer folk"? Of course not, and they'd at least have more of an excuse. Jesus, the guy around whom the fucking entirety of Christian religions are based, said not to take the stories literally, and to love and tolerate one another. What do people do with it? Fucking this: [Link] I'd be offended if that sign weren't so ridiculous that I can't help but laugh hysterically. My best friend - the only person in this whole beautiful cosmic shitstorm that we call existence who truly understands me - is a devout Christian, and she's one of the sweetest people I know, but because of the loud assholes, she has the bear that stigma.

I prefer soft cookies, and though I don't really mind hard cookies, these were real tooth-breakers, because of all the oven-hardened peanut oil, so I don't know if milk would've quite done the job; maybe you could soak them in Dawn... Oh well; at least I have a use for my shitty old peanut butter cookie recipe now. I'm in the market for a new computer, too; I want to get something a little better than this fucking toaster, because I'm trying to get into PC gaming. The applause in 'Murrica for Black Friday shopping is much different, indeed: the clapping comes from the myriad feet trampling the less fortunate patrons for this year's Tickle Me Elmo (a creepy motherfucking concept for a doll, if you ask me), and the cheering comes from the gladiatorial battle screams of 2 grown-ass men or women coming to blows over a good price on a nice sweater.

I'm not a sports fan at all, but even I thought basketball was cool back in the '90s; most everyone did. Of course, my favorite is Charles Barkley; such a cool guy and very down to earth. Plus, he basically saved the entire world against Barkleysaurus-Rex by using the Chaos Dunk, so there's that.

The thing is that Final Fantasy 6 has a great story and characters, but it's the protagonists that are the focus; not the antagonist, so you have to look at him as he relates to the characters. Kinda like how lyrics in techno are often repetitive, so you have to view the vocals as another instrument. And honestly, Final Fantasy doesn't have compelling antagonists, and neither does Dragon Warrior, except for 4. Oh, Sweetie, I didn't mean a literal cookie jar... Wait, how do you mistake frog legs for squid?

I'd love to get into stand-up comedy, but I need a steady paycheck. The best part is that my life has so many fucked-up encounters that I wouldn't even have to write material; I could just talk about shit that's happened to me. That actually describes the Ecco games I've played, too. Are the visuals also dark and mysterious? That's what I liked about the Genesis entries.

The Dr. Strange that just came out; I am a lover of the surreal. It's not even full-blown insomnia; it's what I call subliminal insomnia. I sleep, but my dreams are so vivid that I don't get any sleep while I'm sleeping; I wake up even more exhausted than when I went to bed. Usually, it only lasts 3-5 days in a row, and I don't even notice until Day 3, but I've gotten to 8 twice, which is when I start dreaming while I'm awake; I've never seen what happens after that... Most people think it's only for soldiers, too; mine isn't as bad as some, but my trigger is affection, so it's hard to avoid. Some days, I'm fine, but if someone tries to kiss me, it's very hard to keep from completely losing my shit.

The reason I like NBA Jam is because of how ridiculous and unrealistic it was. To quote myself, I love to "receive a pass from the Charlotte Hornets’ mascot and spiral through the air over the heads of Hillary Clinton and Prince Charles, completely engulfing the net in flames upon [my] descent". I'd enjoy the Super Ultra Baseball (Baseball Simulator) games for the same reason, but 9 innings is a long, boring game to me.

That type of villain gets entirely too much praise, and it's nice to hear someone agree with that sentiment, but if you treat Kefka less like a person and more like an idea or force of nature, he becomes a great antagonist, because of what the playable characters represent.

Oh, Sweetie, I have vices in spades, depending how you want to slice it, but my biggest is probably that I can't keep my hand out of the cookie jar. It waxes and wanes, but when my drive is up, it's fucking RAVENOUS. Of course, a stupid traumatic childhood will do that to you, counter-intuitive though it may be. I must be; I'm always criticizing my own baked goods that people keep telling me are perfect.

A lot of my jokes are like the ones that my old astronomy professor used to tell: 75% of people don't get it; 20% of people get it, but aren't sure whether or not they should laugh; and 5% think they're goddamn hilarious. I don't have a Dreamcast, but I think I might watch a playthrough of its Ecco game, just so that I can experience it. I liked Donnie Darko and Jacob's Ladder, but they weren't nearly weird enough for me; I like full-blown kaleidoscope acid trip shit like Yellow Submarine and Dr. Strange. I have had experiences that might count as psychotic episodes. When I don't sleep for 8 days straight, I start dreaming while I'm awake; it's only ever gone that long twice. Then, there are the occasional PTSD blackouts, but for those, I just blink out of consciousness, and the next thing I know, it's over; I totally check out for those.

I think Mario'd be less offensive even if he talked like Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force... actually, that shit would be hilarious. It's actually more difficult than it appears; the game in question was specifically designed to be unfair, and will likely annihilate you on the first screen. The platforms that look like little chocolate bars do move up and down, but anything that touches you is instant death. That's the screen that got me to start screaming completely incoherent obscenities in Spanish. All you need to know about the CD-i Zelda games is exactly what the pig in the baker's hat says in that clip. My sister actually made me an apron with him on it.

You are mistaken; the Westboro Baptist Church is the most awful hate group in this country. The KKK actually hates them, because they're too bigoted; that's how batshit insane these people are. So no, the KKK is the lesser of 2 evils in this case. Christianity and Islam aren't to blame for a damn thing; it's the fundamentalists that are the problem. You know, those loudmouth assholes who scream about this one passage in The Bible, but completely miss the whole point about Jesus preaching love and tolerance to everyone? Dude was the world's first hippie, and so many people have killed in his name...

The M&Ms turned out to be a bad idea; with my current peanut butter cookie recipe, putting anything in the dough makes it oily as hell; my hands were dripping wet by the time I was done. I also had to bake them twice as long, they got pretty tough, and they were all 'splodey, anyway.

There was a commercial that took place in the dead of the night in the suburbs, with people POURING out into the streets, running as fast as they can. A woman drags her teenage daughter by the arm, who is heard saying, "Mom! Where are we going?" That sums up the whole experience for me about as perfectly as is possible. Fuck that noise; I'm not going to rush out at 3am (when I'd normally be in bed for less than an hour) to get trampled to death over a good price on cheap crap. Ever wonder why the prices are so low? The quality is, too.

I do like some unfair RPGs, like SaGa Frontier, but that's a very special case. I Wanna be the Guy was fun, too, even though it was made to be very unfair. [Link] So yeah... umm... Try Brain Lord? You want to know something? He's even more obnoxious in Super Mario Sunshine; if you're climbing mesh overhead, he just makes this incessant monkey noise... actually, I think even the monkeys start holding their ears when he does that: [Link] And jeez, it's not like he's the most backward-ass Italian stereotype in video gaming.

The irony is that equally loud is the intolerance of intolerance. I refer, of course, to social justice warriors; their hearts are in the right place, but overcoming this bullshit isn't something that happens overnight, and screaming at someone, even just for not knowing, isn't helping anyone. Just look at how much the Westboro Baptist Church has done for the queer community; everyone thinks they're batshit insane - even the KKK - so, not wanting to be like them, a lot of people stopped hating us. You're right about the election, though; Day fucking 1, we have Muslim women having hijabs ripped from their heads as they're told to go home. I'd love to rip the shirts off those fucking racists and tell them to go back to Europe; Native Americans didn't wear shirts, and people have done equally fucked-up shit in the name of Christianity, so I do NOT want to hear that Islam is a violent religion. In fact, the crusades were about Christian terrorists attacking Muslim cities in Jerusalem... and failing hilariously badly. So yeah, fuck this country for electing the embodiment of what the rest of the world hates about us as president. Actually, no, because Hillary won the popular vote by several thousand; fuck the electoral college for not voting how the people had chosen; your vote doesn't matter.

I don't know if it's a thing that's only popular in the US, or if it's strictly a local thing, but I can imagine pumpkin roll not being a thing in Canada. It's innate; my lady once brought home 2 giant bags of M & Ms from a post-Easter sale. They were plain. I don't like plain. I knew she was never going to eat them all, so I decided to bake peanut butter cookies and make them the chocolate chips. I've been baking ever since. She says she's gained 40 pounds over the last 10 years because of my cooking.

NBA Jam is the TITS! I suppose it counts more than the others, too, since it's an actual basketball game.

He's not a literal skeleton, but yes, 6 has Kefka, who is basically The Joker from Batman, complete with goofy laugh. People like to act like he's a great villain, but he has all the depth of a kiddie pool. He works very well, though, because he's a symbol of nihilism, so the character-driven story becomes an amalgamation of reasons to survive, even in miserable conditions. I don't usually like character-centric stories, especially with such a large cast, but it manages to maintain focus well enough. If you're looking to enjoy the best of Final Fantasy, I'd say to stick with 4 and 6 for story, and 5 and 9 for gameplay; 7 has the makings of a good story, but lacks focus. If you are going to play them all, stick with remakes for 1 and 2, but NOT 3.

My body wasn't always that way, though; it wasn't until I became of legal drinking age that it did, so I tell people that I quit drinking when I turned 21. That said, I was never really a heavy drinker; my vices lie elsewhere. Oh... yes... my sense of smell is definitely offended by alcohol... it is excellent... <.< >.> <.< The joke is that I have congenital anosmia, which is a fancy way of saying that I was born without a sense of smell.

A lot of my jokes go over people's heads, because they tend to be obtuse, which is weird, because I'm only 5'2"' nothing of mine should go over anyone's head. I'd say you're safe; Ecco's not really known for its combat. Of course, that's why I usually don't like the boss fights, even if they are cool, like that one in Tides of Time that takes place in that small, dark room. Overall, I do enjoy the Ecco games, though, because they're so dark and surreal, even when you're not being abducted by aliens for no apparent reason, or going Vishnu-knows-where in time into a city filled with these... horrifying... THINGS that look like glitches come to life, though that might be my favorite Ecco moment ever, and one of my favorite video game moments of all time. I live for the surreal; for visions and events that make me question if they were even real, or just some fever dream I'd had. Well, psychotic episode is more likely; I don't often get fevers.

Took your advice and got the Lunar spinoff. Thankfully, there's a great-looking walkthrough for it. Lucky!

Well, if you like the visual design of Phantasy Star 3, you might enjoy 7th Saga on the SNES, because it is very similar, just a bit more brightly-colored. Be warned, however, because it is fucking brutal, even unfair at spots.

I'm not really that good at OutRun, but sometimes, I love to just cruise, seeing what strange place it'll take me. In fact, at work, we use a TUI for most of our work, since it contains the patient database and all that, and you can pick which 2 colors you'd like and make a color scheme out of it; a few of mine are based upon palettes used in the SMS version of OutRun. I also had a laptop that had its GUI based on palettes from Penguin Land. Mario 64 was probably the first Mario game I didn't like; it has a lot of potential, but some of the objectives are fuck-awful. That and I hate the sound of his voice. I think my favorite N64 game is probably Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon, though; it's basically a wacky Ocarina of Time that's better in most every conceivable way, but came out about a year beforehand. Better controls, better graphics, better music, and better puzzles.

That's a big part of it, too, I think; even now in 2016, racial, religious, and sexual (the LGBT kind) tensions are higher than we'd like them, and you always have to wonder. I mean, I have to fear for my life, depending where I'm going; I don't go to the local car show by myself, because let's just say that the flea market there has a stand that sells only Confederate Flag memorabilia. Nothing says, "I accept homosexuality" like a Confederate Flag belt buckle the size of a fucking hubcap. It isn't even just that; every time someone uses a slur against my people, I have to wonder, "Is this person intolerant or just throwing it around casually? If this person is intolerant, would s/he just yell shit at me or tie me to a fence and beat me? Or murder me?" They're only words, and I don't really give a fuck what someone calls me or says to me, but I have to worry about escalation out here in Butt Fuck, Nova Scotia. Pumpkin roll is... Well, it's like pumpkin bread, but laid out flat, covered with a thick layer of cream cheese, and rolled up, like a jelly/swiss roll. Right now, we have apple spice oatmeal cookies and gluten-free peanut butter cookies with Nutella sauce (picture an inside-out peanut butter cup) that I baked for a coworker's birthday, because gluten free birthday cakes are hard to find, and usually shitty.

Oh yeah, that happens; the older you get, the less time you have. Honestly, we ditched cable years ago, and now that we have Netflix Streaming, we don't really have any desire to get it back. Watch what you want when you want without commercials? For 10% of the price, plus you get what is basically Blockbuster delivered to your damn mailbox!? Someone remind me why I'd want cable, since I don't watch sports. My lady does watch March Madness, but her best friend has cable, so there's that; they get together to watch it, and I... play Michael Jordan's Chaos in the Windy City? Barkley: Shut-up and Jam Gaiden?

Well, if you ever decide to pick up either Final Fantasy 4 or 6, I'd highly recommend the original SNES versions, especially for 6; the PSX port has butchered sound, and the GBA port is worse. As for 4, the SNES is my favorite, but the GBA version seems decent (I'll know more once I get to play it in full), and the PSP version has 4, its sequel, and some interlude thing I don't know anything about, so those would be good options, but the DS version is ugly as bigotry. Oh, I didn't mean it like that; I was just musing that a lot of people struggle silently, and you really don't even know until it comes out. Actually, that's how most people I know who've battled cancer were: I'd had no idea, and one day, in the middle of a conversation, "...back when I had cancer..." Well, you're not wrong; alcohol is poison; I usually have mixed drinks, but the virgin kind. The taste of alcohol isn't something I enjoy, and my body recognizes it as poison, and its immediate reaction is "PUUUUURGE! PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURGE!" I can't even take a teaspoon of elixir, which isn't so bad, since I never really get sick. I've never heard of having it on your tongue before, but I suppose that any cells in your body can become cancerous. I don't know how much losing part of my tongue would affect me, since I seem to have taste buds all over the inside of my mouth; you can't see them, but I can taste all over.

Well, the giant crab is because you were kicking cancer's ass; it's the zodiac connection. It wasn't really that funny. Mutated crocodile, though? That's pretty badass.

Confused: Playing 10+ games at once
Of course I say that and the next day or so I decided to sell a few duplicate PS3 games on ebay. I mean, they're mainly games I have on PS4 now, so whatever. I did bite the bullet and end of importing all the Saturn Lunar games, including the MPEG version of 1. Even if I can't really understand them, I can probably get through 1 at least? Also, I'll be getting a console that can use translation patches on Saturn and Dreamcast games, so I'm all set if there ever is a MGL translation patch, or even the first two Lunars. I may import Grandia, but I'm not sure I care enough about the first game to do that, and I haven't even beaten it yet. I did get the three Bomberman games on Saturn, all of which were like $30, amazingly WAY cheaper than the US version for some reason, there isn't even much text. I guess low print? I only really actually got Panzer Dragoon Saga because I got a really good deal on it, $150 CIB when it usually goes for 500+

I usually don't buy games I won't play. I've never understood trophy hunters buying shitty shovelware games for the sole purpose of "easy platinums". That's completely stupid. I may know trophy hunters, but I will never ever understand that mindset. I was on PSN Profiles for a few years, but I left quickly from the admin being a dick to me coupled with being harassed, bullied, and sent creepy PMs by guys almost weekly. I even got one two years after I left, AND I had put "do not PM me" in my profile. Uh.

I do sometimes want to get the whole DC set, but eh...I don't care about playing or buying shitty shovelware.

I'm actually kind of enjoying Vakyria Chronicles. Between playing that and FE Fates, I think I may be warming up to TRPGs/SRPGs (whatever they call them now)

My in Grandia II was beating all those devil enemies in Raul Hills (the ones that can 1 hit KO your whole party), and I mean ALL of them. I've heard you can maybe get some armor to negate their attacks, but I didn't do that and just cancelled all their attacks the hard way. Pretty proud of myself. I may stream Grandia II on Steam versus Dreamcast when I get around to it, since juggling VMU space is a bitch, even with a 4x card. I got another one though, so I may replace my CDX card with that, and play the DC version. I've also got quite a bit of DC games I haven't played, so I probably will need the space. Is the Saturn version of Grandia I even better than the PS1 version? I've heard it kind of is slightly.

Phantasy Star 3 is a very underrated game; sadly, I think the biggest hand dragging it down is that it was different, though that's what I like about it.

I honestly don't remember a single tune from Phantasy Star, and the SMS sound chip isn't the greatest, BUT that version of OutRun is my absolute favorite rendition both visually and aurally by a mile, so it does have its occasional moments of absolute beauty. Sure, it doesn't have the graphical prowess of the Arcade version, but it has so much that's just... weird and dreamlike, and that's kind of my thing. Well, Paper Mario is a thing; I think the N64 should've just stuck to 2D, at least in terms of aesthetics; there are a few 3D games on the system that I enjoy. That said, Quest 64 had some really cool surreal shit.

I find that most people aren't really bad people; spend a little time and patience with them, and be a good example to them, and you'll find that they're just as human as anyone. I've spent time with a kid who was a fucking jerk, and by the end of the few days we spent together, he'd become a better person; a little understanding and redirecting was all he needed. Some people, though, are just worthless; not everyone is worthy or capable of reform or redemption. My Thanksgiving dinner is salmon (or steak, for those who don't like it), mashed potatoes, stewed apples, and... I used to make iced pumpkin cookies, but they weren't very popular, so I need a new dessert idea. Maybe I'll try my hand at pumpkin roll this year.

We're in Eastern Pennsylvania, though, so we're closer to the Eagles, though they seem very polarizing; we have diehard fans and people who are embarrassed by them. I don't know a damn thing about professional sports, though, so I couldn't begin to understand. I've never liked watching sports. I'm a video game player; I like to do things. Running, jumping, climbing trees, putting on makeup while I'm up there, saving princesses, punching evil barbarians in the face; that kind of thing.

Yeah, that's Terra Branford; Nina from Breath of Fire 2 is kind of a lesser example of that, since she only has the "exiled for being a freak, and just learned to live with it" bit. It's fine that you're not well-versed in them; around me, all you need to know are Terra and Cecil. Cancer; I didn't even realize... So many of us suffer without the world even knowing...

Now, all I can think of is you dressed up in green overalls, piledriving a giant crab.

Almost made that character limit.

I'm really not a fan of Billy Joel for the most part - though he was a pretty good-looking kid, back in the day - but I am a big fan of that line. Oh, and Angry Young Man, which I think I've heard once or maybe twice on the radio ever; the crazy piano solo in the beginning reminds me of Night Court, for some reason, but I'm pretty sure that's before your time. Good message in Angry Young Man, too; very profound. Other than that, I think his stuff is overrated. Oh, and for the record, I live near Allentown; the song's actually about Bethlehem!

I redact Sylar from that, since he's more power-hungry, whereas I'm more of a cynical bitch; I don't want power, except to protect others. But yeah, I love Cecil; he's a man of integrity, and he has an awful past, but instead of moping around like a little bitch, he sets it aside and gets shit DONE. He's not a manbrodood about it, either; you can tell that he's really thinking about it in the ending, just in time to put it aside again to rebuild the kingdom he loves, and really, the rest of the world, too. That's me; I have things in my past that make me crazy. Not like, "Oh, she's dancing on the counter" crazy or, "You never know what she's going to say/do next" crazy; for real crazy. Fucking blackout crazy. You think I spend all day moping around about it? No. It's life, and life sucks sometimes; you pull yourself up by the bra straps and get back to it. Yeah, I'm dysfunctional and bitter at times, but I'm not going to waste my whole life on that. Terra's another character whose backstory is almost disturbingly similar to my own life. She's an unwanted hybrid freak, never sure where she fits into the world, spends most of her time drowning in depression and self-doubt, eventually finding her inner strength as a mother figure to those in need. Fuck, it's like watching my childhood, teens, and twenties unfold in 16 bits. Too bad I can't freak out and transform into some crazy flying pink beast made of psychic energy; that'd be the tits.
