I like buying those retro game collections on PS2 that come with like, thirty old arcade games on one disc. There's a lot of variety and usually you can find a few gems. But then there are the bitch-hard, unfair, unfun arcade games that nobody's ever heard of. I'll bang my head against them for a few hours and realize I'm just not interested in ever seeing the end of them. But I can't just pry them out of the collection disc and sell them off, so instead I've begun setting them to Null and marking them with the purple pinwheel icon. They're technically beatable, but I don't have any intention of ever doing so, so I don't consider them part of my backlog. Life's too damn short for these games.

Maybe now I'll finally be able to see something other than the ninja boss in Gun.Smoke when I close my eyes at night.

Tales of Vesperia is also good for this. There's this pipe smoking dog called Repede, the main character Yuri (the guy in my avatar) occasionally has these massive conversations with Repede, normally venting and shit. Repede just stares at him the whole time and occasionally responds with a bark or a howl and Yuri never stops to think ''Hey, why am I talking to a dog?''. It's great.

My dog can say hello though, so I can relate.

Okamiden is definitely worth playing. It has its flaws, unsurprisingly it can't match the grandeur or addictive exploration of Okami, but while it uses mostly the same areas it has a different ''feel'' about it. Some old favourites return, but never overstay their welcome, the cast is mostly new. Like Okami, it absolutely pushes its platform to the brink, it's fitting in a way that it's one of the last DS games because technically speaking it makes the DS its bitch. Combat is somewhat better too I'd say. And yes, it's dangerously adorable.

Your banner reminded me, I always thought visiting the merchants was the most adorable part of Okami. Or one of the most adorable parts. The game is dripping with adorableness. Although Okamiden is on another level of adorableness altogether.
