One of the more recent games that has made me realize my love for arena shooters, young and old. While it may not be the most accessible free-to-play game, if you're willing to devote time, and, well, let's be honest, some cash, you'll have a blast with Tribes. Blue plates and air mails.

It's been almost six years since the release of Team Fortress 2. You most likely couldn't guess that from the frequent update history, constant bug fixes, and constant attention this game still gets from Valve. I really don't know where to start about TF2. It's easily accessible enough to be played by casual FPS players, and finely tuned enough to be played competitively every month of the year. It's unique and tons of fun. Trust me, 1065 hours can't be wrong.

If I had to pick be all, end all favorite game from the last ten years, Just Cause 2 would be my first candidate. The game realizes what it is and capitalizes on it tenfold. Surfing on cars, slingshotting yourself with a parachute and unfathomably long grappling hook, and many other over the top stunts will keep you coming back to JC2 for a long time. Sure, it has laughable story and voice acting, but these are extremely easy to overlook, and indoing so, you'll find a highly entertaining gem.

One of the most amazing first person shooters I've played in a long time. A dystopian set future that drips with style and polish. One of the only single player FPSes I can possibly think of where only possessing two weapons at one time is actually not a horrible thing, as upgrades to both weapons are distinct and extremely fun to use.
