I see! What a weird decision about the ability.. was that in the Mega Drive game too?
I’ve been a bit sceptical about the game just from gameplay videos.
At least the original is included so I will start with that.

Your list of beaten/completed games are impressive, by the way!

Any thoughts on the latest Wonder Boy? Still waiting for my copy to arrive.

Klingt ja alles in allem doch recht gut.

Good lord, the school half is actually better in terms of actually having things to do.
Once the timeskip happens, anyone who you didn't recruit leaves you so you have less things to do and it feels emptier in the monastery.
The amount of freedom you have in free time is amazing too, though it can feel overbearing at first but eventually you have so much time and not enough to do in it.
Teaching is great as you basically get to custom tailor your army with whatever roles you deem fit to give your students. It keeps on going right to the end, by which point your only goals will probably be to try S rank their best proficiencies rather than get them suited for specific classes.
Considering the intent is to have each house have different characters, mixing things up in each route, the likelihood of selecting favourites from each house and then re-recruiting them for the next playthrough is rather high, I'm trying to resist recruiting the glass nuclear cannon Lysithea for my second run...

OK, here we go lads, Three Houses time!
1) No. You gotta have a save or start fresh, preferably with NG+
2) Yes, you can spend renown on regaining a whole bunch of stuff from support levels to professor level. While it doesn't necessarily speed the game as a whole (levels don't carry over) it does make it so much less of a grind (especially if you recruited a character from another house, saves having to redo supports all over).
I'm actually a bit mad, sometimes rusty weapons are rare weapons from prior games (like the Hauteclere or Gradivus) but they can't be reforged until you're professor level A+. I had the Hauteclere from close to the beginning of Black Eagles and I ended the game at only level A. Edelgard would've been ideal with it.

I reckon you destroyed the final boss in like ten seconds.

T-elos is one of the easiest blades to obtain, actually. She has a very high pool rate compared to most rare blades. A friend of mine actually got her in a single rare core.

Funny, Zenobia was the last rare blade I got, we must be on the same blade group.
Also, the fun isn't over yet! NG+ adds more rare blades!

As a frame of reference, I ended the game at level 72 and only spent bonus exp as a means to reduce grinding. I don't really like to grind in games and I love how XC2 has a system in place to mitigate it almost entirely. Shame that obtaining the rare blades is still a grind though...

You're close to fighting the final boss in XC2 at your level...
You're spending your bonus exp aren't you? The whole idea behind it was so you aren't overpowered due to doing all the quests (plus it acts as a currency in NG+).

A few things that irritate me are how field skills can't be activated unless you actively have the blade bonded to someone, which is why having outside party members with blades is useful (if only to mitigate the problem), plus the gacha system for obtaining blades. That's going to age beautifully...

If they do XC3, which was brought but by Takahashi at one point, I'd like for them to just go the "ya gotta find it" route for obtaining baldes. A few of them are done this way and it just feels better to have actively done something besides grind for core crystals and spam A.

Still, I love the combat and the story gave me major feels, more pls.

Hoooo boy, you're playing XC2 I see.
I already recognise that it's a divisive game, but it became one of my all-time favourites when I reached the end. It's also the only RPG I've ever gone through NG+ to the end also.
Hope you end up enjoying it. You're just starting to get a feel for the mechanics, they get wild once you start mixing different blade combos together to maximise a chain attack to dish out millions of damage.
