Martian Dreams and Savage Empire are two wonderful games. Savage Empire (along with Wing Commander) was my first ever PC game and I have very fond memories of them. Martian Dreams was steampunk before it was cool. Hope you enjoy it, there are good times to be had there.

So far my custom build is going to have an i7, 12 gb ddr3, one or two ssd terabytes, the best GeForce card, 23 inch screen. Going all out. :D

And I did notice! Hah, guess the deal was too good, they had to push it a little higher for the next day.

Hah, yeah. Does it show? XD I actually don't even have my new PC yet, since I'm getting it in the Fall, but my work PC is a beast, so I tend to play there (And no one minds since I'm in a video game studio). Just stocking up for the beast which will soon arrive.

Terraria is $2.49 today btw! I knew it would go lower than 10, then 7 and now this. Worth it!

I let out a big ol chuckle at work. We both bought Mass Effect 2. I wonder why.

"One of those is homing, one of those is homing... ALL OF THESE ARE HOMING!"

I think I know what you mean. You're better at self-control than me, it would seem. I can't resist all these new fancy games no matter how much things I have on my plate already.

Yeah, Total Biscuit filled me in. Gosh, I need to stop watching his videos, every time I see one I end up buying the featured game. He's the one who sold me Frozen Synapse too. I don't regret the purchase, though, it's the best game I've acquired in a long time. And his videos are hilarious to watch. Here is a link to the Jamestown one, in case you wish to check it out:

Thanks for the Jamestown tip! Now if I'll just be able to convince a mate or two to play it with me... How is the single player in case I'll not succeed? Are there stupid AI partners or does the player fly alone?

I myself grow tired of my themes quite fast so I tend to change them often. Plus I try to have a theme that matches a game on my "now playing" list, so when I change the games I'm currently playing I usually end up changing the theme too.

I like it too. I would say the same to you but I already said it. Over a year ago. You don't change your theme too often, do you?

That's the problem with multiplayer only -games, you never know will there be enough players when the game gets a bit older or how long there will be servers to play on. I think I'll grab it to give it a try if I can find it for a decent price.

And hey, I'm totally interested in what everyone are playing! Don't know why, though, I'm just such a stalker.

I see. I can find some of those games in your backlog, you just don't mark them with the "Now playing" status? Also, do you play Demigod or is it one of the games that just sit on your shelf? That game interests me a bit, do you like it? Also, does it have lots of players, enough to find games any time of the day?

Yeah, I haven't gotten the chance to play any Metal Slug games but their artwork really makes me want to play them. Especially the bosses I've seen are stunning. I also am familiar with the desire to buy new games even when I know I won't have the time to finish them and old games are still wrapped in plastic waiting for me to uncork them, but somehow I guess my situation is not in the same scale.

3,500+ hours.....
....
Let me let that sink in for a while

That's, like, like, a huge amount of time. So you don't put these multiplayer games in your backlog at all, then?

Hi there! That is a damn sweet avatar if I've ever seen one, saw it on the main page and decided to drop by to show my admiration for it... but what is this nonsense about 409 unfinished games combined with the "Not playing" and a sad face below your banner?

I completely agree about the open-endedness of it, and TAUIP...definitely incredible and really helped to establish the game's longevity. I love the fact that there are so many ways to play the game and the vast differences in the types of units. Not too many other games can claim to have really full-featured land, air, and sea options, as well as variations within (e.g. seaplanes, submarines, amphibious tanks, Pelicans, etc.)

I really want to give SupCom a try, given that it's Taylor's spiritual successor and all, but I'm afraid my current computer is just a few years too outdated to handle it (and it runs the wrong OS as well ).

And you made your own unit? That's pretty awesome, I have to say. What sort of unit was it anyway?

It really is! Though, admittedly, my theme leaves quite a lot to be desired, and the game does have quite a few shortcomings. Even so, it's easily one of my favorite games of all time (currently #2, though I was thinking of knocking it down a few pegs sometime soon) and it was absolutely revolutionary for the time that it came out. I was actually just about to launch the game and play a quick Skirmish match, in fact.

Great to find someone else who appreciates those games.
I remember the future . . .
