Wow, that's quite a lot of things you can customize to randomize a rom. I'm aware of DIY videos on how to randomize your own Pokemon roms. I'll keep that in mind once the time is ripe.

Oh, and the particular flash cart I ordered was a Mini SD Supercard, something like that. Or as I like to call it, budget EverDrive for GBA. I won't expect it until next month, though.

Sweet, someone else within the community plays a Moemon game, and has beaten it too! I recently ordered a GBA flash cart online, and was going to put a Pokemon randomizer on it, but now that Moemon was reminded for me, why not both?

"I'm going downstairs next to my little girl dungeon to program this game. Welcome to planet Earth, ladies and gentlemen"

By the way, any words of wisdom for how randomizers work just so I get a heads up?

Hey, you were asking about the legend I use for tagging my games. It's mostly just my way of knowing how/where I own the game if I ever want to play it. Like [P] means I own it physically and [D] means digital. Then for PC games the letters correlate to whichever site I own the game on, like [S] is for Steam, [G] for GOG, [H] for Humble Bundle, etc.

Oh gosh, sorry for the ultra late reply. So with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon it's not exactly the best game per say, like it's clunky, repetitive, and could be considered boring for a lot of people but the story is where it really shines. It has an amazing and captivating narrative that will keep you playing for the majority of the game. I'm a huge fan of the series personally, but I know it's not for everyone.

At this point in my life I'd like to call myself more of a Persona and SMT fan lol. I should really update that list to also include P5.

FE: Awakening and FE: Fates! I also played an earlier one for a little while with my girlfriend which was pretty good, but helpfully I can’t remember the name of it. For big mash-up games I definitely still think that SSB is where my heart lies, but you talking of Samurai Warriors reminds me of how much I love Dynasty Warriors! Have you played that series or have you just been mainly into Samurai Warriors? IIRC they’re made by the same company, so I’m sure they must be similar if only by name.

You’re absolutely right though – story oriented games are my favourites, but I do like some competitive games every now and then! I actually (finally) achieved Diamond in Overwatch today, which I’ve been trying to do for ages, but solo queuing for it with a mixture of both great and terrible teams has been kicking my ass – not this time, though! What have you been upto? Have you been playing lots of games this week? I bet you’re looking forward to having the next month off!

I agree with you, I love over the top shows as well. This week I finished off watching “Boku dake da Inai Machi” which had such a strong start, I was really hooked! But the ending felt very lacklustre, which sounds like it wasn’t just me who felt that way. It sounds like a case of it being cut short by the episode length compared with the literature length though, which is a shame (but admittedly I don’t fully know). As for Steins;Gate, hmm…well, it was quite a while ago that I watched it, but I don’t remember feeling that it started slowly! I actually quite enjoyed the happy-go-lucky feeling of the first few episodes even though you knew something was off, and then when the big incident happened I was shocked. The turning point of the series was fantastic.

Okabe was such a likeable guy too, I really like protagonists that are driven and keep going no matter what. And oh man, I totally hear you about Persona 3! God, that game impacted my whole life. The ending gets me every time.

Great taste with Kurobas & Yowamushi Pedal as well! I’m exactly the same, I really like Makishima and Kagami is my favourite too. I gotta say I always get such a kick out of sports anime, they make me feel pumped up from all the adrenaline that they display! I also really like Midorima and sometimes Aomine, but most of the time I didn’t like him too much. I thought I would like Murasakibara much more than I did, but I ended up quite disliking him much to my surprise. And yeah, with Hellsing I was actually only introduced to it semi-recently, but it’s already become one of my favourite shows that I’ve seen – an excellent cast and a premise that I find really cool, so I love it!

I’m surprised FE: Heroes is your first experience of the series. I can’t talk too much for the earlier games, but I absolutely loved

Hello again! Wow, sorry this reply is so much later than usual – it’s been an extremely busy week! I really hope that you’ve been doing well, and that life hasn’t been treating you badly, haha. It sounds like things with your work have been going relatively smoothly, which is always good – especially quiet engineers! The amount of times construction outside my house has woken me up have been depressingly large, so I’m glad to hear it hasn’t disturbed you too much. How are you doing today?

That’s a good choice for favourite genres, also – I’m pretty much the same I think, except I’m not too big into sci-fi but it makes up with a huge interest in Fantasy instead. I really enjoy adventure and action/thriller, but really if I’m in the right mindset, I think I can pretty much enjoy anything. Fantasy is definitely my favourite for sure, though. I also love games like Persona/SMT where it is very Japan-centric, so I suppose that would fall into my favourite list as well. Oh yeah, so many people were critical of FF13 & 15. I must admit, I do agree with quite a lot of the criticisms of 15, and even some with FF13, but I loved the FF13 franchise so I’m definitely biased more to that. Ultimately if you yourself enjoy it, I think a laid back approach to what others think is the best way forward.

As I’ve gotten older and become more resolute in my own opinions rather than letting others ones affect me too much, I do think its silly to not try a game for yourself and see, unless it is notoriously bad (did you hear about the release of No Man’s Sky? It sounded like something out of a horror movie). So generally I try to be open minded, too!

And re: playing as a different gender, I understand that! It’s interesting that you say that you prefer playing as the opposite - as I’m a woman, I actually usually gravitate to playing women characters. Recently in FFXIV I made a male character that I like though, so I’ll see how long I can stick with that. I also read the article you linked me, which was an interesting perspective and not really one I’d thought of before. To be honest I don’t really care about skimpiness in videogames, its more how a character is written that bothers me the most. I think that image is important, but it’s not really something that turns me off wanting to play a game. That said, I would love it if more games had more LGBT+ characters, but that’s just because I want to see more characters like me.

Cowboy Bebop. I really like a lot of shows though so I’m sure I’ll talk your ear off about them all one day. And hey, taking the whole of December off sounds super relaxing! I bet you’ll really enjoy it! I added you to PSN too so thanks, haha. How is Fire Emblem Warriors, is it good?

And thank you! I’m happy you thought my character looked cool. :D

Yeah, fiction is where I’d like to make a living the very most! I’ve been writing for a long time both original and fanfiction stories, but never in a “professional” capacity until recently. I’m working on writing a game with my wife, so hopefully that takes off. It’s a text-based adventure game so fingers crossed! How has your day been? I hope your office hasn’t been being too loud for you.

Oh yeah, Junji Ito has done some really terrifying things – impressive and creepy are definitely the two words I would use to describe his work too! I don’t blame you for being put off of the genre though, horror can really get inside your head and frighten you out of certain things. I really enjoy it in small doses (especially Silent Hill and things like it), but I could never continuously play them. Gore and that sort of thing I find incredibly boring, so when horror is written well, I’m always very impressed. What would you say your favourite genres of things are overall? Whether that’s movies, games or whatever, really. I’m not sure what I’d say mine overall is, probably fantasy? It’s such a broad question that even I’m not sure if I can answer it :p

Agreed, Steins;Gate was absolutely wonderful! I loved the show and I really want to play the visual novel, I enjoyed it a lot. I also definitely prefer demonic girls to monster girls, but visually I think that both are really interesting. To be honest I’m willing to give anything a try that looks even mildly interesting, but I also drop a lot of shows that I feel bored by quickly, which is a habit I should try breaking as I know it takes some a couple of episodes to get going.

I’ve watched Utena myself (almost a decade ago now, wow) and I enjoyed it at the time, but I’m not sure how I’d feel about it now…but oh wow, Gravitation! Haha, I haven’t thought about that in years!
You should check out all of those manga that you mentioned; maybe one of those (or more) will be great for you! I’ve never read any of those, but I tried to read Blame! and I think I just kind of fell off with it. I don’t remember it being bad though, I just don’t think I was in the right mindset to read.
Ahh yes, I absolutely love Shokugeki no Soma as well! I love Kuroko’s Basketball too, and I’ve seen the first season of Yowamushi Pedal, but I never got back on to that one…what did you think of those? Favourite characters? I’ve seen a lot of anime in my time though, yes! My favourites are Love Live, Hellsing and...(I hit the limit again!)

she's such a cool lady. I really should play more Metroid games...and oh man, I know! The D.va skin is absolutely amazing, my jaw dropped when I saw it. The coolest she's ever looked for sure! I'll also get around to adding you on PSN either tonight or tomorrow I think, if that's still welcome.

Speaking of characters, if you'd like to see my FFXIV character, I found a screenshot! (Edit: sorry it's not that big)

Ah, I see. I've never actually worked in an office personally, but I've heard friends complain about their own workspaces being too small...so that's excellent news about yours! Hopefully it won't disturb you too much then. I'm trying my best to be a writer as a job alongside my actual job, so the sound of a tiny cube tucked away from everything sounds divine to me! And I think that hitting the character limit is just a testament to our conversations! (And by that I mean it can only be a good thing as we both always have lots to say) :D

Of course! I love to talk about my interests in general, so thank you for asking about what I read Well lets see...my favourite types of manga are horror or well-written shoujo ai/yuri (of which there is few and far between sadly), and yesterday I read a lot of Junji Ito's work, who I would say is probably my favourite. More specifically I read Jigokusei Remina which was pretty scary! Have you read any of his stuff? He is terrifying. What do you enjoy reading? I also tried out Fullmetal Alchemist as in all my years of enjoying anime and manga I never tried it, and it seems to be pretty cool so far.

Huh, the information you said about WoW's older content is pretty interesting to me...I suppose I'm also not that surprised either really given how long it's been going. I remember when I was just about hitting my teen years and it was in computer stores everywhere! I always wanted to try it when I was younger, but I suppose I just never found the time. It sounds good that they're about to introduce a level scaling system, I think that should make it a bit easier for everyone from the sounds of it who wants to start playing. I'll definitely keep you posted either way, it'd probably be pretty fun to watch me running into walls whilst you as a seasoned veteran keep me alive with your pinky finger.

Mm, the cooldown on Cleric Stance is pretty bad, actually...IIRC (though admittedly I'm not 100% as I swerved away from it very hard after the gutting of it) I think it's about 70-80 seconds, so to me it's rather useless. Healer DPS in FFXIV isn't too bad, but it's definitely not what it once was. It's a shame, but what can you do! I suppose that's just how it goes in a game with so many players. I know you said you only play Mercy/haven't played too much, but are you planning to give Moira a try on Overwatch when she comes out? I'm excited! And thank you! I love this avatar of Samus - (I hit the limit this time!)(1/2)

Glad to hear you had a relatively average week either way - nothing bad happening is always only a good thing after all. Is your office refurbishing or something like that? And thanks things have started to calm down a little for me now! Sitting down to type this reply to your comment is a welcome reprieve haha. My household always has something or other going on so I'm glad I could just play a bunch of games and/or read today. Today I've been binge-reading manga for the first time in a little while so that was nice! How about you, was your weekend relaxing?

That's awesome that we both prefer magic classes, I definitely do for sure. What you were saying about Priest's specialities reminds me a lot of a move that is (more or less now removed) in FFXIV called Cleric Stance, which used to be a stance you could switch on and off and it would switch the values between your black magic stats and your white magic stats...which meant that healers had amazing DPS. However thanks to idiots complaining about a virtually non-existent meta in game they gutted it altogether to make it now a move that only lasts for something like 10 seconds as opposed to just being left on! Though I can't entirely blame them for doing that as people used to abuse it a lot too, just DPS-ing and not healing. It was pretty exasperating when that happened and the tank died.

Astro is indeed the card based class! It is really neat, I enjoy it a lot...the relic is actually their main weapon which I think is the star globe which always looks incredibly pretty to me. And I agree with you, I wish they would add a warlock class of some kind, that would be great! I'm thinking about trying WoW properly soon so I'll definitely keep you posted. :D And good taste as I said to you before haha, I always do love the scarier skins or designs of lady characters for sure! I'll have to grab you a picture of her sometime.

Okay, thanks! I'll get around to adding you pretty soon - sorry that the reply has been a little delayed, life has been rather hectic this week so I haven't been around too much. My PSN username is karanomori (as I'm sure you saw on my info) but my Steam is locked, so I'll add you when I can. Oh no, torn down? I hope it was nothing too serious, but it certainly sounds like it was an event if a room needs to be replaced altogether! Mind you, I feel that way about my bedroom sometimes, given how cold it is in the winter. How have things been for you this week?

Yeah, I completely agree in terms of not voice chatting and so on. The only multiplayer games I play are Overwatch and FFXIV. I do like seeing what other people are getting upto though. Vanilla WoW sounds like a lot of fun, I really like the names of the classes - I wish XIV had an Undead Warlock type of class! The closest thing they probably have to that is just a title of "The Necromancer" which sounds impossible to get atm. And whilst I may not know much about WoW I can tell that all of that means you did a hell of a lot, haha. It sounds as though we actually probably play rather similar in classes.

Which nicely leads me onto my next response actually - yeah, I've been playing since the revamp quite a long time ago now. I main Scholar and Astrologian, but I like White Mage too. I've done tons in this game too; I've not been big into the PVP scene, but when I've played it it's been fun. I've gotten both of the relic weapons for Scholar, working on my next one for Astrologian, and my character (Lucia) is a scary-looking lady with horns! Do you typically play healers too? I'm mostly magic classes across the board in most games I play, but healing really has taken a big spot in what I usually pick these days.

Oh absolutely! Who doesn't love D.va as a gremlin inside a pink bunny mecha?

You only playing Mercy is totally fine by the way! I actually used to be a solid main of her myself and most of my friends/people I usually run with play her pretty solidly too, so I'll feel right at home! And tbh not approaching it competitively is a wise choice, every time I've done that I've come away with a headache so I just decided to...not Oh, and I have a copy on PC as well as PS4, so I'm pretty flexible with either haha. I play PS4 a bit more just because I'm quite shy about talking to people usually!

I agree in dropping a game when its beaten usually too, unless I particularly love it. I felt that way about Bloodborne so I got the platinum trophy for it a few months back, and Skyrim as well. In terms of games that aren't on PC my PSN is definitely where I usually hang out the most, but I should probably get working on my Steam backlog. But I've been incredibly invested in Final Fantasy XIV since its revamp almost five years ago now, so that's been my main haunt for a long time (and also where my time usually goes).

Man I know, wasn't Blizzcon exciting this year! I haven't played StarCraft, but the Nova skin looks so fantastic I might end up checking it out after all. Yeah though, I was so excited by a lot of the news, particularly about Moira in Overwatch so out of the blue, as well as the vanilla WoW servers! What classes did you play in it? Did you have any favourite challenges in it? I've only played WoW a few times in contrast to yourself, but I've wanted to get into it for a while.

Thank you haha! It's the same for me actually, I'm from the UK where Halloween is more popular in parties than trick or treaters, so it was quiet for the most part. My girlfriend and I tried to go to a horrorfest of movies a couple of days before, but as the movies were pretty bad we ended up going home and watching some of our own choices.

Oh for sure where Overwatch is concerned, I totally understand. Lots of people are out there who just love the characters and the artwork/ships instead of the game, and with such a big roster it's definitely got something for everyone. Did you have your eye on any other characters to play besides Mercy? I used to play a lot of her and Pharah but I like to play everyone if you decide to play in the future, let me know and I'm sure we can go a couple rounds.

Thank you for saying so about my category system! I'm glad it makes sense. Honestly I have far too many games that I genuinely enjoyed, but I know I'm not going to go back and complete them in the way that the default Backloggery mark suggests...so I figured I'd just make my own. Do you have any plans to complete particular ones in the near future?
