I was just poking around on here and noticed some fairly recent activity from you, so I just thought I'd say hi since it's been so long. Hope you've been doing well!

Yeah I've definitely had some trouble keeping up with it lately. I'm actually trying to keep track of my gaming habits offline, through a journal project where I write my thoughts about the games, movies, and TV I'm consuming. Trying to practice some writing while also getting some time to process what I like or don't like about certain projects. I don't really have anywhere to put any of it at the moment, but it's more for myself to reflect on.

I hear you on the digital stuff and gamepass in particular. I haven't been adding gamepass games until I put a lot of time into them, and really only keeping them on my backlog if I beat them. Otherwise I either Null them or delete them altogether. The gold games I never add unless I play them. Ownership is becoming so weird and I'm even finding, to my surprise, that I don't really care. I don't actually need to own anything, since most of the time I don't have time to play what I want let alone go back and replay old games multiple times. And the ones that I would want to play again are often remastered or re-released with new features (hello Mass Effect) so I don't really need my old versions anyway. I know there are people out there worried about game preservation but I honestly don't give a shit about that haha. Like, are my kids really going to pick through my old gamecube and 360 games one day after I die? I doubt it. That stuff is going to end up in a landfill sooner or later. Even Scott Pilgrim got re-released! Never thought we'd see the day.

So now I mostly use backloggery to keep track of what I've beaten and what I'm playing for the few people who might be interested in talking about games. I do hope they eventually add a digital collection setting of some kind. It would be awesome if they could run something like what TrueAchievements does where it links up with your Gamertag and automatically populates the games you play into your collection.

Also, you pumped for Village?? The first game I've preordered in years. I'm so excited to nearly shit myself running around in first person just like RE7.

Ha, I feel you on that. I've had some more time for gaming lately, but the first half of the year or so was really tough to find much time. For sure we need to play something soon! Smash Bros is a great choice, can't wait for that one

Oh man, Tomb Raider is so good. Probably my favorite of the trilogy. I hear you, though. Way too many games I still need to get Spider-Man, and Odyssey does look cool, but that's another one that's gonna have to wait a while. Next month there's Fallout and Pokemon, then of course Smash Bros in December... it's just crazy lol. Don't know when I'll be able to find time for everything.
