So I recollect that VPNs are not necessarily a purpose to do with none different encryption. In absolute terms, VPNs are not always a guarantee that your privacy is blanketed. They have certain benefits (concealment of your IP, protection of MITM attacks between you and the VPN, circumvention of censorship, and bridling), but but, they will not make you anonymous. [Link]
