nirvanA Initiative didn’t hit quite as hard as the original for me, but was still quite good! Yes, the big reveal during the ending sequence definitely blew my mind at the time, but the pace definitely felt a bit more plodding this go around, and while Date’s perviness was tongue in cheek enough to not bother me too much, Tama’s innuendos were a bit too over the top, helped only by her VA being so excellent. Can’t say I found Hitomi being an interesting enough character to support a sequel, but in Uchikoshi we trust?
Agreed, the discovery aspect of early Elden Ring was by far its strongest suit, but as the novelty started to wear off in the endgame, the often obtuseness of Souls design direction began to become apparent to staggering degrees due to the scale. And unpopular opinion maybe, but I can’t help but feel like the bosses were pretty weak this go around. Probably to account for the sheer variety of builds and playstyles. But especially coming hot off of Sekiro, which essentially perfected From combat design, couldn’t help but feel like a step back.
